Kevin Harvick Named Grand Marshal for Ross & Witmer 255 at Hickory Motor Speedway

NEWTON, NC — NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick will return to his short track roots in a special way this spring, as he has been named Grand Marshal for the “Ross & Witmer 255” at Hickory Motor Speedway on Thursday, May 22. The event serves as the fourth race of the 2025 season for the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour, co-sanctioned with the ASA Southern Super Series.

Harvick’s appearance adds star power to what is already shaping up to be one of the premier mid-week racing showcases of the year, just days before the NASCAR Memorial Day Weekend festivities at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Harvick’s son, Keelan, will be competing in the Legend car division at the Hickory event, where he claimed the win one year ago.

A 2014 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, Harvick’s career is marked by both longevity and dominance. Over the course of his Cup Series tenure, he amassed 60 career victories, ranking him among the top 10 all-time winners in NASCAR’s premier division. Harvick also scored two NASCAR Xfinity Series championships and totaled over 100 wins across NASCAR’s top three national touring series. Known as one of the sport’s most respected and media-savvy veterans, his presence at Hickory continues his deep-rooted connection to grassroots motorsports.

The Ross & Witmer 255 event will take place over two days:

Wednesday, May 21: Hauler parking, technical inspection, and early practice

Thursday, May 22: Final practice rounds, CorvetteParts.net Pole Qualifying, and the marquee 255-lap Super Late Model main event

NHRA ROARS INTO BRISTOL DRAGWAY FOR SUPER GRIP NHRA THUNDER VALLEY NATIONALS

BRISTOL, Tenn. (May 6, 2025) – As one of the highlights on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series tour, teams and fans are thrilled to return to Thunder Valley and famed Bristol Dragway for the 24th annual Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals on June 6-8.

Scenic Bristol Dragway has served as a must-see facility for NHRA fans for more than two decades and serves as the eighth of 20 events during the 2025 season. The Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals will once again deliver an incredible sensory overload with 12,000-horsepower nitro burning machines blazing down the track – and through the mountains – at more than 330 mph.

The weekend is filled with nonstop action, too, starting with a pair of qualifying sessions on Friday. That includes nitro at night, as fans can see the massive nitro header flames under the lights to close out the day. Saturday continues with the final two rounds of qualifying and the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge, which brings competitive racing to the qualifying schedule. It leads to Sunday eliminations, as all the stars in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle look to pick up wins at one of the most memorable events of the year.

Add in autograph sessions, fireworks, unparalleled fan access and much more, and the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals is one race fans can’t miss.

In 2024, Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel), Austin Prock (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin (Pro Stock) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all won in Bristol. Clay Millican, Prock, Erica Enders and Matt Smith each won the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge, while semifinalists from the NHRA New England Nationals will rematch in Bristol in 2025. This season’s Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals will be broadcast on FS1, including eliminations starting at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 8.

The Top Fuel ranks continue to be an ultra-competitive class, with former champion Shawn Langdon leading the points after collecting wins Phoenix and Charlotte. Motorsports legend and 2024 Rookie of the Year Tony Stewart is second after he won his first career Top Fuel race in Las Vegas. The racing legend is no stranger to Bristol success, but the star-studded class also includes reigning Top Fuel champion Antron Brown, Brittany Force and Clay Millican.

Austin Prock has dominated since moving to Funny Car class in 2024. He won eight events last year, including the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, en route to his first Funny Car world title. Prock again leads the points after picking up back-to-back wins. Others in the mix are Phoenix winner Paul Lee, as well as former champs Matt Hagan, Jack Beckman, who took over driving duties for John Force, and Ron Capps.

Jeg Coughlin, a five-time Pro Stock champ, earned his third Bristol win over reigning champion Greg Anderson. But this year has belonged to KB Titan Racing, with Anderson and points leader Dallas Glenn meeting in every final so far. Glenn has won three times and Anderson twice, as others like Erica Enders and Aaron Stanfield look to stop their streak in Bristol.

Pro Stock Motorcycle first appeared at Bristol Dragway in 2021 and each year has seen a new winner. Two-time reigning champion Gaige Herrera won last year, while six-time champ Matt Smith took over the points lead in Charlotte. Other standouts include Jianna Evaristo, 2023 event winner Steve Johnson, Chase Van Sant and Angie Smith.

The event will also feature thrilling competition in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, the Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series, Flexjet NHRA Factory Stock Showdown and Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage Mountain Motor Pro Stock. After final qualifying on Saturday, fans will also be treated to a special autograph session and fanfest at the Bristol Dragway Welcome Tent in the midway.

All weekend, fans will be invited to the Nitro Alley Stage, which is the main entertainment hub in the pits. The stage hosts Nitro School, meet and greets, autograph sessions and more. Bristol race fans can enjoy the special pre-race ceremonies that introduce each driver and includes the fan favorite SealMaster Track Walk. Fans are also invited to congratulate the winners at the winner’s circle celebration on Sunday.

As always, fans get a pit pass to the most powerful and sensory-filled motorsports attraction on the planet. Fans can see their favorite teams in action and servicing their cars, get autographs and more. They can also visit NHRA’s Manufacturers Midway, where sponsors and vendors create an exciting atmosphere.

NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series qualifying will feature two rounds at 5 and 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, June 6, and the final two rounds of qualifying on Saturday, June 7 at 12:30 and 3 p.m. Eliminations will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 8. Television coverage includes qualifying action at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday and 8 p.m. on Sunday on FS1, leading into eliminations at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday.

2026 NASCAR Championship Weekend Moves to Homestead-Miami Speedway on Nov. 6-8

New Rotating Model for NASCAR Championship Weekend to be Shared Among NASCAR’s Marquee Venues & Key Markets

MIAMI, Fla. (May 6, 2025) – NASCAR announced today that the 2026 NASCAR Championship Weekend, featuring the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, will be held at Homestead-Miami Speedway to conclude the 2026 season. This will be the first time since 2019 that NASCAR’s three national series will crown their champions at the South Florida racetrack.

The announcement marks a Homestead homecoming for the conclusion to the NASCAR Playoffs, as the track previously hosted the NASCAR Championship from 2002 to 2019. NASCAR Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway will be held on Nov. 6-8, 2026.

As part of this shift, the NASCAR Championship Weekend will move to a new rotating model as part of a fan-centric effort to ensure that the season’s exciting conclusion is shared amongst NASCAR’s marquee venues and key markets. Similar to other major sports championships, NASCAR will showcase its championship weekend on the new rotating model to provide greater exposure for its season’s finale in multiple markets.

“Homestead-Miami Speedway has a history of competitive, championship racing that will provide nostalgia for veteran drivers and fans and exhilaration for NASCAR’s new generation,” said Ben Kennedy, EVP, Chief Venue & Racing Innovation Officer. “As we move forward, the rotating model will provide new challenges for competitors as well as opportunities for unique venues to host our loyal fans at NASCAR Championship Weekend.”

“As we celebrate our 30th season, it is fitting we will start our next decade returning to our championship roots at Homestead-Miami Speedway,” said Guillermo Santa Cruz, Homestead-Miami Speedway President. “The 2026 NASCAR Championship Weekend will offer the brightest young stars of the sport the opportunity to join the illustrious 18-year history of championship racing in South Florida alongside veteran fan-favorite drivers.”

Three active drivers who were crowned Cup Series champions at Homestead-Miami Speedway will be hoping that history repeats itself in 2026 – Kyle Busch of Richard Childress Racing (2015, 2019), Brad Keselowski of RFK Racing (2012), and Joey Logano of Team Penske (2018). Logano has also added two championships at Phoenix Raceway (2022, 2024).

Phoenix Raceway has been a model racetrack hosting NASCAR Championship Weekend with sellouts and an unparalleled fan experience since 2020. As part of the 2026 NASCAR schedule, Phoenix Raceway will continue to host two Cup Series race dates and be a part of the NASCAR Championship as it will continue to host a prominent race in the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Playoffs. Those dates will be announced in the near future. The racetrack will also be included in the championship rotation, so NASCAR Championship Weekend will return to conclude a future season.

Cadillac targeting top step at Laguna Seca

Three-car GTP lineup coming off advancements in third race of IMSA season

DETROIT (May 6, 2025) – Seeing progress with every step, Cadillac Racing’s three-car Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) lineup is targeting a return to the top step in Victory Lane this weekend in the TireRack.com Monterey SportsCar Championship.

The No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R, with Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque sharing time behind the wheel, will be joined by Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz driving the No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R and the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R driven by Jack Aitken and Frederik Vesti in the 2-hour, 40-minute IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race on the 2.238-mile, 11-turn WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca course.

Cadillac Racing has recorded 10 podium finishes at Laguna Seca, including victory in 2023, since joining IMSA prototype competition in 2017. Last May, Cadillac Racing swept the front row in qualifying, with Sebastien Bourdais setting the GTP track record of 1 minute, 12.445 seconds (111.212 mph) in earning the pole.

The No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R qualified second in 2024 to stretch its front-row streak to four races and finished second. In a manner of carpooling this time out, Vesti is sitting in for Earl Bamber, who will be driving the No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R with Bourdais and Jenson Button this weekend in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

Vesti, Action Express Racing’s first-year endurance driver, and other Cadillac Racing drivers followed up their sprint race on the streets of Long Beach with a day of testing at Laguna Seca in an effort to continue their progression. The No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R has advanced a total of 13 positions relative to its starting spots in the past two races, finishing fourth in both.

For the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing drivers and crews, in their first year working with the V-Series.R LMDh platform, track time is always welcome.

“I think every time we are able to get track time we are learning new things with the car. The V-Series.R car is still so new to us and most of our running is on race weekends when you don’t want to take too many risks. I think as the year goes on, we are just going to keep getting stronger and stronger,” Jordan Taylor said.

NBC will provide flag-to-flag network coverage of the race at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT Sunday. The race will stream on Peacock in the U.S., IMSA TV Live and IMSA YouTube outside the U.S. IMSA Radio’s broadcast begins at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT on IMSA.com, XM 206, Web/App 996.

See the Cadillac vehicle lineup

Spectators have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the exciting Cadillac vehicle lineup, including the 2026 LYRIQ-V, and get information at the Cadillac display in the fan zone. Other Cadillac vehicles on site will be the CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwing, the Escalade-V and the CT5-V and CT4-V. Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.

What they’re saying

No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R

Ricky Taylor: “It is nice to be in the rhythm of the sprint races where we can focus on execution of each session and working more exclusively with our smaller group in the team. So, Laguna will give us another good opportunity to get in the rhythm of working together. Laguna is always challenging to put together an entire strong weekend. Track position is quite important there, it is quite difficult to pass, and strategy rarely seems to reward people with many positions, so it places a lot of emphasis on being well prepared and doing a good job on all of the little things.”

Filipe Albuquerque: “We are still in the process of learning the V-Series.R car and let’s hope that Laguna is the track that clicks with understanding the car and being competitive. Our heads are down, the crews will be working hard and hopefully no mistakes, and we will be aiming for a podium.”

No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R

Jack Aitken: “We’re looking forward to Laguna Seca and another opportunity to hit the top step in IMSA after a strong start to the season, but one where we are still looking to make that extra step. The test last month went smoothly for us and was a good chance to check some items from recent events, and work with our sister team. It’s a track I’ve always loved, so going back is a pleasure each year.”

Frederik Vesti: “The recent test at Laguna Seca was a really positive day of testing for me. It was my first experience at the track and something that I had been looking forward to, though I’ve known this track for 10 years because of sim racing and it was exciting to experience it in real life. It’s always a challenge approaching a new track, especially in the GTP because it’s such a quick car. Luckily, I think the sim racing helped because I quickly got on pace and knew the lines and brake points for the most part. I’m excited for my first sprint race weekend in IMSA with Jack and the 31 crew. It’s going to be interesting with GT3 traffic, so being assertive without putting yourself in danger of crashing will be key. My favorite corner is Turn 2. It’s such a high-speed approach and obviously the Corkscrew is a special corner that is as exciting and crazy as I had hoped for from the simulator. We are going to go with all the energy we have.”

No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R

Jordan Taylor: “We had a good test in Laguna right after our Long Beach weekend. I think every time we are able to get track time we are learning new things with the car. The V-Series.R car is still so new to us and most of our running is on race weekends when you don’t want to take too many risks. I think as the year goes on, we are just going to keep getting stronger and stronger. It hasn’t been the start to the year that we wanted, so hopefully we can start contending for podiums and wins in Laguna. It’s a much different track than what we’ve seen this year, but it always brings a nice crowd and an action-packed race, so I’m looking forward to getting there.”

Louis Deletraz: “As always, I’m very excited to go to Laguna Seca. I love the track and the atmosphere. I have some good memories after winning it in 2022 (LMP2) and hopefully we can reproduce that! We have been testing recently with the Cadillac V-Series.R and it felt great. The whole team is working hard, we’re learning a lot and we’re getting faster every time we drive. I’m looking forward to the race and very motivated to bring back our first trophy of the year.”

Why Car Dealership Cleaning Services Are Key to First Impressions

Photo by Adrian Dascal on Unsplash

In the highly competitive automotive sales industry, first impressions are everything. Before a customer speaks to a sales associate or steps into a vehicle for a test drive, they make judgments based on the dealership’s cleanliness, organization, and presentation. That’s why car dealership cleaning services are not just a maintenance necessity—they’re a strategic investment in customer experience, brand image, and, ultimately, revenue growth.

In this blog, we’ll explore the impact of cleanliness on consumer perception, how specialized cleaning services benefit dealerships, and why a clean dealership is a powerful sales tool.

The Psychology of First Impressions

Research shows that first impressions are formed in as little as seven seconds. In that short time, potential car buyers assess whether a dealership appears trustworthy, professional, and worth their investment. A polished showroom, gleaming windows, spotless waiting areas, and clean restrooms signal to customers that the dealership pays attention to detail and values their comfort.

In contrast, smudged windows, dirty floors, or overflowing trash bins can subconsciously suggest neglect, lack of professionalism, and poor service—all factors that can turn buyers away before they even start their journey through the sales funnel.

The Unique Cleaning Needs of Car Dealerships

Unlike standard retail stores or office buildings, car dealerships have unique spaces that require specialized cleaning protocols. These include:

  • Showrooms: These high-traffic areas must maintain a flawless, glossy look. Floors must sparkle, windows must be streak-free, and surfaces must be free of dust to highlight vehicles under optimal conditions.
  • Service Bays and Garages: These areas are often exposed to oil, grease, and mechanical debris and require industrial-strength cleaning and safety compliance.
  • Customer Lounges and Offices: Clean waiting areas influence comfort and customer retention during service visits.
  • Restrooms: One of the most telling areas for cleanliness. Poorly maintained restrooms can seriously damage a dealership’s image.
  • Exterior Grounds: To ensure accessibility and safety, sidewalks, parking lots, and entryways should remain free of debris, dirt, and snow.

Given this diversity, standard janitorial services simply don’t suffice. That’s where professional car dealership cleaning services make a measurable difference.

How Professional Cleaning Services Enhance Brand Image

Your dealership represents more than just the cars it sells—it’s an embodiment of your brand. Whether you’re a luxury brand like Mercedes-Benz or a volume-driven Toyota dealership, your customers expect your environment to reflect your brand’s promise.

Professional car dealership cleaning services tailor their methods and schedules to consistently uphold that brand image. They use the right materials and techniques to ensure every surface, from marble tiles to leather lounge chairs, is treated appropriately. Moreover, consistent cleanliness shows that your dealership holds itself to high standards, reinforcing brand trust.

Clean Dealerships Improve Customer Experience

Today’s customers are more discerning than ever. They’re not just buying a car—they’re buying an experience. That includes everything from their first website visit to their in-store interaction.

Walking into a fresh, clean showroom creates a welcoming environment. It encourages customers to browse comfortably, engage more with staff, and spend more time in the dealership. A clean environment also reduces distractions, allowing vehicles to be the focal point.

Additionally, cleanliness plays a vital role in service departments. A spotless service bay can increase confidence in the dealership’s technicians and procedures. Customers are more likely to return for maintenance when they feel their car is in good hands, not just mechanically, but hygienically as well.

Employee Morale and Productivity

Your staff spends eight or more hours a day in the dealership. Just like customers, they are affected by the work environment. Cluttered desks, dirty floors, or unpleasant odors can negatively impact morale and reduce productivity.

On the other hand, a clean and organized workspace promotes focus, health, and pride in the workplace. Employees who feel their environment is well cared for are more likely to exhibit professionalism and maintain that standard in customer interactions.

This trickle-down effect from clean facilities to enhanced customer service is another reason car dealership cleaning services are a worthy investment.

Compliance and Safety Standards

Many dealerships are subject to health, safety, and environmental regulations, especially in service departments and garages. Improper waste disposal, chemical spills, or slippery surfaces can harm employees and customers and lead to costly fines and legal consequences.

Reputable cleaning companies understand these regulations and ensure that your dealership complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, environmental laws, and brand requirements. From the proper labeling of cleaning agents to eco-friendly practices, professional services protect both people and your reputation.

Health Considerations Post-COVID

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, hygiene expectations have heightened. Customers are more aware of cleanliness in public spaces than ever before. Dealerships now have an obligation to not only look clean but also to be sanitized and safe.

Professional car dealership cleaning services incorporate high-touch surface disinfection, antimicrobial treatments, and air quality improvements into their routines. This assures customers that you prioritize their health and well-being—a message that builds loyalty in an era where trust is paramount.

Cost-Effective in the Long Run

It might be tempting to cut costs by assigning cleaning tasks to internal staff or hiring the cheapest contractor. However, inconsistent or inadequate cleaning can lead to bigger expenses—damaged flooring, stained upholstery, pest issues, and lost sales opportunities due to poor impressions.

Dealerships can avoid these problems by investing in specialized cleaning services. Maintenance plans help extend the life of flooring, furniture, and fixtures, while regular deep cleans prevent long-term damage. Clean facilities also reduce the likelihood of employee sick days caused by germs or allergens.

In short, a proactive approach to dealership cleanliness saves money while generating more revenue.

Customization and Flexibility

Top-tier car dealership cleaning services understand that no two dealerships are alike. They work around your business hours to minimize disruptions and offer tailored services that align with your brand, facility size, and traffic volume.

Whether you need daily janitorial support, weekly deep cleans, or seasonal exterior maintenance, professional cleaners adapt to your needs. Many also offer add-on services like carpet shampooing, upholstery cleaning, window polishing, and power washing, ensuring your dealership looks immaculate inside and out.

Cleanliness Sells

In the end, what customers see and feel when they enter your dealership often dictates whether they stay or shop elsewhere. Cleanliness is a silent yet powerful sales tool that shapes customer perception, supports employee well-being, ensures safety, and enhances your brand.

By partnering with experienced car dealership cleaning services, dealerships can maintain the kind of pristine, inviting atmosphere that sets them apart from competitors. It’s not just about clean floors or shiny windows; it’s about crafting an environment where confidence, trust, and sales thrive.

Don’t let dust or disorder hold your dealership back. Invest in professional cleaning—and drive your business forward, one spotless surface at a time.

Are Ceramic Brake Pads Good for Your Vehicle?

Photo by Benjamin Brunner on Unsplash

Ceramic brake pads have become the go-to choice for drivers seeking clean, quiet, and consistent braking performance. Known for lasting longer and producing less dust, they’re often seen as a premium upgrade over semi-metallic or organic pads. But are they right for your vehicle?

Before making a decision, it’s wise to consult professionals. A quick visit to a trusted auto repair near me can help you understand whether ceramic brake pads suit your driving habits and vehicle type. The choice of brake pads can significantly impact your overall driving experience. Read this article till the end to learn about the performance of ceramic brake pads and decide if they align with your driving habits.

What Are Ceramic Brake Pads?

Ceramic brake pads are made from a dense blend of ceramic fibers, bonding agents, and fine metal particles like copper. This composition gives them a smooth and stable braking feel, making them well-suited for everyday driving conditions.

These pads were first introduced in the 1980s as a cleaner, quieter alternative to traditional brake pad materials. Their design focuses on consistent performance across a range of temperatures, reduced wear on brake rotors, and minimal accumulation of brake dust.

If you’re considering upgrading your brakes, a visit to a trusted brake repair near me can help you determine whether ceramic brake pads are the best choice for your vehicle’s needs.

Key Benefits of Ceramic Brake Pads

Choosing ceramic brake pads offers several advantages, especially for drivers who prioritize comfort, cleanliness, and long-term value. Below are some benefits of these brake pads over semi-metallic and organic brake pads:

  1. Quieter Operation

The primary advantage of ceramic brake pads over other types is that they offer a quieter braking system. They generate minimal noise under normal driving conditions, making them ideal for drivers who want a smooth and quiet ride.

  1. Low Brake Dust

Ceramic pads produce significantly less dust compared to semi-metallic brake pads. This helps keep your wheels cleaner for longer and reduces the risk of residue buildup on surrounding components.

  1. Consistent Performance

These pads perform reliably across a wide range of temperatures. Whether you’re driving in stop-and-go traffic or cruising at highway speeds, ceramic brake pads can be your best driving partners, as they maintain stable friction levels and provide responsive braking.

  1. Longer Lifespan

The composition of ceramic brakes makes them highly durable, which is why they last longer than organic or semi-metallic pads. This means fewer replacements over time and better overall value.

  1. Rotor-Friendly

Ceramic brake pads do not damage the rotors, which helps reduce wear and extends the life of your vehicle’s braking system. This is especially important for maintaining braking efficiency and safety over the long term.

Did you know? Ceramic brake pads last more than 70,000 miles or more, much longer than semi-metallic pads (30,000–50,000 miles) and organic pads (20,000–40,000 miles). However, they can be expensive compared to other brake pads.

Who Should Use Ceramic Brake Pads?

While ceramic brake pads offer a strong set of benefits, they are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Their performance varies depending on your vehicle type, driving habits, and expectations.

Daily Commuters

If you drive mainly in urban or suburban environments, ceramic brake pads are an excellent choice. They provide quiet stops, produce minimal dust, and require less frequent maintenance. This makes them the best brake pads for daily driving.

For Performance Drivers

Drivers who demand aggressive braking or engage in spirited driving may find ceramic brake pads less responsive than semi-metallic options. While they offer stable braking, they are not designed to handle the high heat and force generated during track use or fast-paced cornering.

For SUV and Truck Owners

If you frequently tow, haul heavy loads, or drive in rugged conditions, ceramic brake pads may not provide the stopping power needed for heavy vehicles. Semi-metallic pads are generally better high-friction braking pads, but it is better to consult a professional auto repair shop.

For EVs and Hybrids

Ceramic brake pads are the go-to brake pads for electric and hybrid vehicles, which often rely on regenerative braking to reduce wear. The quiet operation and low dust levels of these pads complement the low-maintenance nature of electric vehicle (EV) systems.

Key Properties of High-Quality Ceramic Brake Pads

A significant portion of ceramic brake pads is made from advanced materials like ceramic-silicon carbide (SiC), which provides enhanced rigidity and durability. Other materials, such as alumina and boron carbide, are also commonly used to manufacture these pads to enhance their performance. Below are the essential properties that distinguish high-quality ceramic brake pads:

  1. Resistance to Brake Fade

Brake fade happens when the brake pads lose their effectiveness due to overheating, which is often a result of repeated or prolonged braking and may require professional brake repair services. High-quality ceramic brake pads are designed to resist brake fade.

  1. Protection Against Corrosion and Oxidation

Good ceramic brake pads are resistant to corrosion and oxidation, which are common problems caused by exposure to moisture and chemicals. This resistance ensures that the pads maintain their durability and braking efficiency over time, even in harsh, wet, or salty conditions.

  1. Optimized Friction Levels

A low friction coefficient of the brake pads ensures that they provide smooth braking without excessive heat buildup. Ideally, the friction coefficient of ceramic brake pads ranges from 0.3 to 0.5. This allows for adequate stopping power without locking the wheels.

  1. Enhanced Durability and Wear Resistance

Best-quality ceramic brake pads are known for their durability and wear resistance. They are designed to last longer than traditional brake pads. The proper composition of ceramic materials minimizes wear on both the brake pads and the rotors, resulting in an extended lifespan and lower long-term maintenance costs for the braking system.

Did you know? High-performance carbon-ceramic brake pads can last up to 100,000 miles, making them ideal for long-term use in premium or performance vehicles.
