Jankowiak, who won at Talladega Superspeedway and sits third in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings, has two previous starts at Toledo Speedway, with his best finish a seventh-place run in his most recent Toledo start in 2023. Jankowiak is 14 markers out of the points lead.
  • Reigning ARCA Menards East champion Isaac Kitzmiller (No. 79 A.L.L. Construction / Carter CAT Chevrolet) will be making his first appearance at Toledo Speedway alongside his father Jason (No. 97 A.L.L. Construction / Carter CAT Chevrolet). Isaac enters the Owens Corning 200 Presented by CGS Imaging third in the ARCA Menards East standings with two third-place efforts at Hickory and Rockingham as his season’s best. Jason’s efforts will be overseen by ten-time ARCA Menards Series champion and ten-time Toledo Speedway winner Frank Kimmel.

  • The 30 cars entered for the Owens Corning 200 Presented by CGS Imaging represents the largest ARCA Menards Series entry list at Toledo Speedway since 2015, a race won by Todd Gilliland.
  • Should the race need to be extended to overtime, there will be unlimited attempts at a two-lap “green, white, checkered” finish. • The Owens Corning 200 Presented by CGS Imaging will be conducted with two five-minute breaks at or near lap 75 and lap 125. Teams can change tires and add fuel, but not simultaneously. Teams will have 12 tires at their disposal for the event (practice, qualifying, and race) and can use them at their discretion. The only time teams can change tires without penalty is during the two breaks. All changes outside of the break must be for a damaged/flat tire and must be approved by ARCA officials.
  • Mason Mitchell holds the ARCA Menards Series track qualifying record at Toledo Speedway, set in 2014, at 15.682 seconds/114.781 miles per hour.

Multi-day grandstand ticket holders from the 2025 event will receive priority access to select their seats

MARKHAM, Ontario (May 12, 2026) – The Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham is excited to announce that ticket sales for the inaugural race in Markham, Ontario, will officially commence this week. Fans who held multi-day reserved grandstand tickets from the 2025 event will receive priority access to select their seats first for the Aug. 14-16 event.

These fans will receive a notification on Wednesday, May 13, with further details and the opening time of their selection window. This exclusive period will remain open until Sunday, May 24, at 11:59 p.m. ET allowing these 2025 purchasers to secure their place at the new 12-turn, 3.52-kilometre (2.19-mile) temporary street circuit. Those who purchase their tickets during the priority access period will receive traditional renewal benefits, including complimentary access to the Aviva IndyCar Paddock, as well as have the opportunity to upgrade their tickets to the Champions Club or Champions Club+ at an additional cost. The Rookie Racers program will also be available for purchase during his renewal period.

“The anticipation for the inaugural Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham is at an all-time high, and we can’t wait for fans to begin securing their new seats starting this week,” said president Jeff Atkinson. “We are deeply grateful for the years of support that brought us here and helped us continue to keep this iconic Ontario racing tradition alive. We are excited to kick off this new era in Markham and for what is to come for the future of racing in Ontario.”

Public ticket sales for all available multi-day tickets will open Tuesday, May 26, at 10 a.m. ET.

Fans can choose from four strategic grandstand locations, each placed at the circuit’s highest-intensity racing points:

Pit Lane Grandstand: Located within the Unionville GO parking lot, this is a premier view of the unique, double-sided pit lane and the final dash to the checkered flag.

Turn 3 Grandstand: Positioned outside Turn 3 and located in a central location of the festival site, fans will witness the field charging from Turn 2 into this 90-degree left-hand turn.

Remington Turn 5 Grandstand: Spectators will see late braking and passing into the hairpin before accelerating down the high-speed, long back straight.

Turn 8 Grandstand: This grandstand provides a vantage point of the technical left-hand turn as drivers accelerate toward the sweeping right-hander of Turn 9.

As announced in September 2025, the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham is moving to a temporary track which is being built in the eastern precinct of Markham’s downtown, between Kennedy Road, Enterprise Boulevard, Unionville GO tracks, and Highway 407. This new track will offer fans great sightlines within the festival site for both reserved grandstand and general admission ticket holders.

Ford Racing NASCAR – NASCAR All-Star Race Advance

NASCAR ALL-STAR RACE (DOVER)
Friday, May 15 — NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, 5 p.m. ET (FS1)
Sunday, May 17– NASCAR Cup Series, 1 p.m. ET (FS1)

NASCAR is taking its annual All-Star Race to Dover Motor Speedway for the first time and there will be at least five Ford Racing drivers in the final 26-car, 200 lap segment for Sunday’s scheduled race. Joey Logano (2016 and 2024) has a pair of All-Star Race wins to his credit while Team Penske teammate Ryan Blaney has one (2022).

LOCKED IN

As noted above, there are five Ford Racing drivers who are locked in for the final 200-lap segment that will feature 26 cars. Josh Berry, Ryan Blaney, Austin Cindric, Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano are all guaranteed spots after posting at least one victory last year. The remaining drivers can make their way into the field through either the fan vote or by having one of the lowest combined finishing positions from the first two segments.

MULTIPLE ALL-STAR WINNERS

Logano’s win in 2024 put him in a select group of Ford drivers who have won the NASCAR All-Star Race more than once. The only others to do it are Davey Allison and Mark Martin. Allison was the first driver to win the non-points exhibition in back-to-back years (1991-92) and then Jimmie Johnson joined him (2012-13). Martin’s victories came in 1998 and 2005 driving the famed No. 6 Ford for car owner Jack Roush. Logano could become the fifth person overall to win the event more than two times if he finds Victory Lane on Sunday.

RYAN BLANEY: “When I was growing up, the All-Star race was always a fun two weeks at Charlotte. You go from the All-Star race, to the [Coca-Cola] 600. Watching dad go through it was always unique, understanding it’s a ‘no holds barred’ type of race. I was fortunate enough to win it a few years ago, and I think it’s unique that they’ve switched it around. Everyone knows what you’re going for, and no one’s worried about points. You make a weekend out of it, especially when you get to go to new places. Moving that race to a different racetrack like Dover is fun. Throw everything out the window, old money racing.”

BRAD KESELOWSKI: “I like the schedule variation of moving the tracks around year-over-year. I don’t think Dover has ever had an All-Star race. The format for the All-Star race is compelling, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. There are a lot of unknowns.”

AUSTIN CINDRIC: “I love Dover. It’s one of my favorite tracks whether we’re going there racing for one million dollars or for a bunch of points. I’m just glad we’re going. It should be an interesting race having all the cars out there under a new format. It’ll be a cool place for it. I don’t know if they have Miles [the Monster] holding the cash, but I’ll try to take it from him.”

TODD GILLILAND: “It’s going to be interesting. It’s a good opportunity to try something different at Dover. I’m excited about the resin on the racetrack, and for someone who has yet to make an All-Star race, I’m getting to run more of it than probably ever. Considering the format and from a fan’s perspective, it’s exactly what you want. When I’m watching other races, I’m like ‘Yeah, let’s invert the Top-10.’ When you’re in the car, it can be challenging because the leaders get pushed to the back. But, it should be really entertaining and as a competitor, I hope that I’m in that Top-20.”

LOGANO DOMINATES NORTH WILKESBORO

In 2024, Joey Logano dominated the NASCAR All-Star Race like nobody ever had, leading all but one of the 200 laps and winning the $1 million bonus for the second time in his career. Logano won the pole, thanks in part to his pit crew that put together a solid pit stop in a modified qualifying format, and never looked back once the green flag fell. He bolted to the lead on the softer tire compound that Goodyear made available, in addition to the regular tires usually used on race weekends, and controlled the race until the checkered flag.

BLANEY NETS TEXAS ALL-STAR WIN

Ryan Blaney drove to his first victory in the NASCAR All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway in 2022 as he led 84 of the 140 laps. The triumph came in his sixth start in the annual All-Star exhibition, which was held for just the second time at the 1.5-mile Fort Worth track. Blaney had to outlast the field in an overtime session, forced by Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s crash with Blaney just a short distance from the checkered flag. The caution lights illuminated to force the extra laps, but Blaney — thinking he had won — had lowered his window net on what he thought was the cool-down lap. After struggling to get it fastened, he held on in the final two-lap dash to the end.

LOGANO AND KESELOWSKI FINISH 1-2

Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski made All-Star history as they became the first teammates to sweep the top two spots in the All-Star Race when they did it in 2016. Logano came out on top of a side-by-side battle with Kyle Larson in the final two laps, getting clear with just over one lap to go after Larson hit the outside wall coming off turn two. That enabled Keselowski to get the runner-up spot and successfully commemorate the 50th Anniversary of car owner Roger Penske’s career in motorsports. It marked Ford’s 11th All-Star Race win and first in five years since Edwards won in 2011.

ELLIOTT THRILLS HOMETOWN FANS WITH ATLANTA WIN

The first time Ford won the All-Star Race was in 1986 when Bill Elliott drove his Thunderbird to Victory Lane, but that race is remembered for another trivial fact as well. That marked the only time, prior to this year, that the event has been run at a track other than Charlotte Motor Speedway. Elliott’s home track of Atlanta Motor Speedway served as host on Mother’s Day that year, a date NASCAR traditionally does not race. With only 10 cars making up the field, Elliott darted to the lead from his outside front row starting position and never gave it up as he led all 83 laps en route to a popular victory with the fans.

WALTRIP-WOOD FIRST-TIME WINNERS

Michael Waltrip’s win in 1996 marked his first victory in NASCAR’s top division and was the first in the event for Wood Brothers Racing. Waltrip almost didn’t get into the big show because he had to battle it out in the preliminary Winston Open, where he grabbed the final transfer spot by holding off Johnny Benson to finish fifth. That meant he started last in the 20-car main event, which was called the Winston Select. After the first two 30-lap segments had been completed, Waltrip found himself fourth for the final 10-lap shootout. He passed Rusty Wallace for third after an aborted restart, and then was riding behind Dale Earnhardt and Terry Labonte, who were battling side-by-side. As the two entered turn one with eight laps to go, they made contact which slowed them down enough to allow Waltrip to dart to the inside and pass both of them for the lead. He held on the rest of the way to post his first win of any kind in NASCAR’s top division.

MONSTER MILE DEBUTS

This weekend will mark the first race for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Dover Motor Speedway since 2020, which means a number of current Ford Racing drivers have little or no experience on the Monster Mile. In fact, the only one with more than two starts is Ben Rhodes, who has six overall and four straight top 10 finishes. Rhodes, who raced at Dover for the first time in 2014, was fifth in ‘20. Chandler Smith and Ty Majeski each have one start while Jake Garcia, Cole Butcher and Layne Riggs will all be making their series debuts.

SMITH AND RIGGS IN TOP THREE

The Front Row Motorsports tandem of Chandler Smith and Layne Riggs come into this weekend’s race ranked second and third respectively in the series point standings. Each driver has one win with Smith’s coming in the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway and Riggs getting his on the street course in St. Petersburg. The ThorSport duo of Ben Rhodes and Ty Majeski are sixth and seventh.

Fleetio Joins 23XI Racing as Primary Partner with Corey Heim for Coca-Cola 600, Bringing “Your Fleet’s New Pit Crew” to the Track

Partnership with 23XI and No. 67 team brings Fleetio’s maintenance-first approach to one of NASCAR’s most demanding races

BIRMINGHAM, AL – May 12, 2026 – Fleetio, the leading fleet maintenance and optimization platform, announced today a partnership with 23XI Racing, headlined by Corey Heim, driver of the No. 67 Toyota Camry XSE, who will compete with Fleetio at the Coca-Cola 600 on May 24, 2026. The partnership puts Fleetio’s “Your Fleet’s New Pit Crew” campaign on one of motorsports’ most demanding stages – a 600-mile proving ground where preparation, intelligence, and a team mindset decide who survives and who wins.

In NASCAR, the driver doesn’t win alone. The crew does the unseen work that turns a fast car into one that delivers under pressure by anticipating problems, executing in seconds, and never sleeping on the job. With 8,500 fleets on the platform, serving over 1 million vehicles per year, and managing over 9 million service records per year, Fleetio plays that same role for fleet operators by embedding intelligence directly into their maintenance workflows. This gives teams access to benchmarks and AI-driven decision support in one place, helping them reduce avoidable costs and giving them the choice and control to operate with the systems that fit their needs.

“Fleet operations and racing both come down to the crew and how well they execute over time. That’s the philosophy we have built Fleetio around – helping teams anticipate issues, act quickly, and earn our place alongside our customers every day. The Coca-Cola 600 is the perfect stage to show how that plays out in high-stakes conditions with thin margins,” said Jon Meachin, CEO of Fleetio. “On the track and in the bay, the work that goes into preventing a breakdown is just as important as the way the crew responds to one. Fleetio is that crew for the fleets we serve, running the maintenance operation that keeps vehicles on the road.”

“Speed and execution are at the heart of our team’s success, and we always enjoy partnering with innovative brands that share those same characteristics,” said Steve Lauletta, 23XI team president. “Without the people at Airspeed who drive and manage our trucks being prepared to tackle and anticipating challenges, our team would be at a disadvantage. We look forward to welcoming Fleetio to 23XI for the Charlotte race.”

Behind the wheel of the No. 67 Toyota Camry XSE is Corey Heim, one of NASCAR’s fastest-rising stars. Heim captured the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship after a record-setting season that included 12 wins and 1,625 laps led. In the Truck Series, Heim earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2022 and has amassed 25 wins and 14 pole awards. As he begins making his mark in the Cup Series and sets out for his 11th career Cup Series start, Heim brings that same competitive pedigree to the 23XI and the No. 67 team.

“I’m excited to compete in my first Coca-Cola 600 and look forward to having a partner like Fleetio with me that really understands the importance of teamwork during challenging situations,” said Heim. “I’m sure I will learn a lot throughout the race, and I’m fortunate to have a great crew and teammates around to help me prepare for the race before we get to the track.”

The partnership will feature Fleetio-branding and color scheme on the No. 67 Toyota at Charlotte. Representing Fleetio’s role in equipping maintenance teams with the tools to keep vehicles in service when uptime is on the line, Heim and the No. 67 pit crew will also have head-to-toe branded uniforms for the race. Fleetio will continue its presence with 23XI during the season, including additional associate sponsorships with Heim and current Cup Series leader Tyler Reddick at Talladega in the fall.

Amazon Prime Video will stream the Coca-Cola 600 on May 24, 2026, at 6 p.m. ET as the network’s first NASCAR broadcast of the year.

About 23XI Racing

23XI Racing – pronounced twenty-three eleven – was founded by NBA legend Michael Jordan and three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin in 2020. With rising NASCAR star Bubba Wallace selected to drive the No. 23 Toyota Camry, the team made its NASCAR Cup Series debut in the 2021 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Wallace made history on October 4, 2021, when he captured his first career Cup Series win, becoming just the second African American to win in the Cup Series, and earning 23XI its first-ever victory. 23XI expanded to a two-car organization in 2022 with Cup Series Champion and Hall of Famer Kurt Busch driving the No. 45 Toyota Camry. With a win at Kansas Speedway in May of 2022, Busch earned 23XI the team’s first-ever playoff berth. Tyler Reddick joined the team in 2023 to drive the No. 45 car. In 2024, Reddick won the Regular Season Championship and raced to a spot in the Championship 4, a first for both the team and Reddick. In 2026, Reddick made history by winning the first three Cup Series races of the season, including the Daytona 500. 23XI currently features the lineup of Bubba Wallace in the No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE, Tyler Reddick in the No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE and Riley Herbst in the No. 35 Toyota Camry XSE. Corey Heim currently serves as the team’s development driver and races occasionally in the No. 67 Toyota Camry XSE. The team operates out of Airspeed, a state-of-the-art facility in Huntersville, N.C.

How Mobile Auto Repair Services Can Save on Your Time and Money

Modern scheduling necessitates us all to be much more busier than ever before. Allocating time to visit a traditional repair shop can be frustrating, difficult, and sometimes impossible, depending on your schedule. Trying to balance long wait times, towing costs, and day-to-day scheduling differences can quickly become a bundle of stress and nightmares. Because of this, more drivers are opting for mobile auto repair services for a convenient and affordable solution.

Companies like Assure Repair have helped lead the charge by offering expert on-site diagnostics, brake repairs, oil changes, and other general automotive maintenance. As a trusted mobile mechanic dallas service provider, you can expect same-day repairs to help you get back on the road quickly without all the needless frustration.

Convenience is Everything

Far and wide, the biggest advantages of mobile auto repair are time saved and convenience. Traditional repair shops often require adhering to their schedule (which is also during the hours you work) for routine maintenance. Mobile mechanics completely eliminate scheduling problems by bringing service straight to your car, wherever it is.

Whether your car is at home, at work, or stranded on a roadside, a reputable mobile service can perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance on-site. This means, while you’re working, asleep, or away, you can instead be doing what you need to do, instead of waiting in line or inside a lobby. No more need to waste extra gas or take a day off work to do chores like auto repair.

How You Save Money

Mobile mechanics can operate much more efficiently, which correlates to lower pricing, and that isn’t including the other money savers. You end up saving more on top of that because you don’t need to pay for additional gas for travel, no towing fees if your car breaks down, reduced downtime, and less unnecessary diagnostic charges.

By eliminating hidden costs, reducing travel time, and offering convenience, mobile auto services are much more budget-friendly than traditional shops. However, it’s worth noting that if your car cannot be repaired on-site, the costs will be comparable to those at a traditional shop.

Services Offered for Mobile On-Site by Mechanics

Mobile auto repair services commonly offer a wide range of maintenance and repair options. Oftentimes, there is little to no need to visit a traditional shop for a common, everyday problem.

Commonly provided on-site services include:

  • Oil and Filter Changes
  • Brake pad and rotor replacement
  • Alternator and/or starter repair
  • Check engine light diagnostics.
  • Fluid top-offs
  • Misc and various system checks
  • Battery testing and replacement
  • Preventative maintenance

Some service providers may offer more, while others may offer less, but they typically cover the most common vehicle issues. More often than not, you can avoid an unnecessary trip to a repair shop.

Bottom Line

More and more people are prioritizing convenience and efficiency, and mobile auto repair services have grown in popularity as a result. Simply put, the ability to receive expert vehicle care without altering your daily schedule is changing how people think about car maintenance.

While companies like Assure Repair stand out in Dallas, mobile service providers are showing that professional service doesn’t need to come with long wait times or needless stress and frustration. Instead, when you contact these mobile service providers, you can only expect the best for yourself and your vehicle.

Time and money matter more than ever these days, and mobile auto repair service providers offer an elegant solution that keeps your day-to-day going as smoothly as possible.

Right of Way Regulations for U Turns in Busy Urban Intersections

Attempting to reverse direction on a crowded city street is one of the most unpredictable maneuvers a motorist can perform. It requires a driver to monitor multiple lanes of moving traffic simultaneously while judging the distance of oncoming vehicles in the distance ahead.

Most city layouts are not designed to accommodate wide turning radii without disrupting the natural flow of transportation. When a driver decides to spin their vehicle around, they are essentially cutting across the paths of everyone else on the road today safely.

Staying safe during these maneuvers depends on a complete knowledge of the specific rules governing regional intersections. Following Las Vegas U-turn accident laws is the only way to ensure that a quick turn does not lead to a lifetime of legal and physical consequences for drivers.

Defining Lawful Movements Under Nevada Statutes

State law provides clear guidelines on where a driver can and cannot legally perform a turn to head the opposite way. These maneuvers are permitted as long as they can be completed safely and do not interfere with other traffic flow within the immediate vicinity.

Visibility is the primary factor that determines the legality of a turn in any given situation. A driver must have a clear view of the road for several hundred feet in both directions before attempting to rotate their entire vehicle safely without causing others to brake.

Signage also plays a vital role in regulating these movements at major intersections. Many busy crossings feature permanent markers that explicitly ban turning around to maintain the efficiency of light cycles. Ignoring these signs is a form of negligence in any investigation that takes place.

Prioritizing Oncoming Traffic and Pedestrian Safety

The driver attempting to change direction carries the primary burden of ensuring the path is entirely clear. This means they must yield the right of way to every other vehicle approaching from the opposite side of the street during the entirety of the maneuver.

Pedestrians using crosswalks also have absolute priority during these scenarios. A driver must wait until every person has reached the safety of the curb before initiating their turn. Failing to account for someone walking leads to tragic results that are avoidable with a bit of patience.

Waiting for a large enough gap in the flow of cars is the only way to perform the maneuver responsibly. Many people make the mistake of trying to rush through a tight opening. This aggressive behavior is a frequent cause of vehicle pileups at the busiest intersections.

Navigating Right on Red and Turning Conflicts

A common point of contention occurs when one driver is making a right turn on a red light while another is performing a turn on a green arrow. Both individuals often believe they have the right of way, leading to an impact in the crossing.

The driver making the reversal generally has the legal priority over someone turning right on a red light. This is because a green signal provides a protected window for movement. The person turning right is still required to stop and yield first before they move.

Miscommunication between these two parties is a recipe for disaster. If neither driver is looking at the other, a crash becomes inevitable. Both motorists should remain cautious and assume that the other person might not see them while they are moving through the busy zone.

Proving Fault Through Technical and Visual Data

Determining who caused a crash during a disputed turn often requires a detailed look at the physical evidence left at the scene. The point of impact on the vehicles provides a wealth of information about the speed and angle of collision between the two cars.

Traffic camera footage is another invaluable tool for resolving these disagreements. Most modern intersections are equipped with sensors that record the timing of the signals and the movements of every car. Seeing the event as it happened removes all the guesswork from the reporting.

Skid marks and debris patterns on the pavement also tell a story about how each driver reacted. If a car shows no signs of braking, it suggests they were distracted. Combining different data points creates a comprehensive picture of the event occurring on the public road.

Final Reflections on Accountability and Damages

Recovering damages after a collision involving a turn around maneuver is often a complex and hard fought process. Insurance companies frequently try to shift the blame to avoid paying out high value claims. Having a solid foundation of evidence is the only way to win.

The legal nuances of these cases require a careful attention to detail and a deep knowledge of regional traffic laws. Every intersection has its own specific risks that must be considered. A thorough review ensures that the truth is revealed to everyone involved in the crash.

Achieving a successful resolution provides the financial support needed for a full recovery. Accountability on the road makes the entire community a safer place for everyone. Navigating these hurdles with professional guidance leads to a much clearer path forward for the injured parties in the city.

Jim Dunn Racing brings its one full-time entry in Funny Car for Jeff Arend. A native of Canada, Arend moved to Southern California in 1997.

As the NHRA celebrates its landmark 75h season in 2026, Jim Dunn Racing is celebrating 76 years of success in drag racing. Jim started drag racing when he was 15 years old and at 91 years old, he plans to keep going as long as he can. In 2024, Jim received the NHRA Lifetime Achievement Award. He has won some of the sport’s most significant races and has provided driving opportunities for some of the biggest names in the sport.

Coming into Chicago, Arend is 16th in the Funny Car standings, 338 points behind leader J.R. Todd.

Mooneyes is the primary partner of Arend this weekend in Chicago. Mooneyes products and logos are an indelible part of hot rod nostalgia, easily recognizable to gearheads and novices alike. They take pride in producing high-quality products that look great and get the job done right. Mooneyes produces Moon Fuel Blocks, Moon Tanks, Moon Discs, and Moon Valve Covers among other original parts right on site in their machine shop. They also supply various parts and accessories for hot rods and kustoms as well as an expanding like of custom motorcycle products. Located in the same place since it all started back in the 1950s, Mooneyes is located in Santa Fe Springs, California.

Arend piloted the Jim Dunn Racing Funny Car at the NHRA’s two previous events, the 4-Wide Nationals in Charlotte and the NHRA Southern Nationals in Valdosta, Georgia. He also stepped in for a portion of the weekend at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, California. Prior to that, Arend last drove for Jim Dunn Racing in the 2013 and 2014 seasons and he has raced only sporadically in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. In his Funny Car career, Arend has four wins and five runner-up finishes to his credit. His last win came in July, 2012, when he beat Courtney Force in the final of the Route 66 Nationals at Chicago. He also has started twice from the No. 1 qualifying position.

The Route 66 Nationals will mark Arend’s 255th career Funny Car appearance, and his third Funny Car appearance on behalf of Jim Dunn Racing at Route 66 Raceway. His two previous appearances for the team came in 2013 and 2014.

Although Jim Dunn Racing has not advanced beyond the semifinals in 30 overall appearances at Route 66 Raceway, driver Jeff Arend has a winning record at the track (10-9) with a runner-up finish in 2011 (losing to Mike Neff in the final) and a win in 2012 (over Courtney Force).
Jeff Arend, Driver of the Jim Dunn Racing Mooneyes Funny Car
You’re returning to the track where you earned your last Funny Car win in 2012. What confidence does that give you, combined with the strong runs you and Jim Dunn Racing have accomplished in the two previous events?

“I can’t wait for Chicago. Route 66 Raceway is one of my favorite tracks! Considering we have gone down the track every run but one, Big Jim (Dunn) and I have a few ideas on how to up our performance. We were really happy with our 4.035-second Q1 run at South Georgia Motorsports Park on a tricky lane that most teams struggled with. We’re hoping to get in the three-second range at Route 66. I’m looking forward to running the Mooneyes colors. That scheme is always one of my favorites.”

INDYCAR and INDYCAR Officiating Announce Operating Update Following IMS Road Course Race Review

INDIANAPOLIS (Tuesday, May 12, 2026) – INDYCAR and INDYCAR Officiating have announced an operating practice and process update following a review of the on-track incident involving car No. 20 during the Saturday, May 9 race on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

On Lap 21, car No. 20 lost power and stopped on the front straightaway on drivers’ right of the track – off the racing line. Course marshals followed standard flagging protocol and deployed a standing yellow condition at Marshal Panel 14, with a corresponding waving yellow condition at Marshal Panel S/F (start-finish) to alert competitors to the stationary car. The escalation to a full course yellow (FCY) was made on Lap 22 as the driver began to exit the race car.

Following race control practice, the assessment of whether and when to escalate a local yellow to a FCY included the weighing of the following standard factors: driver egress, vehicle position, recovery vehicle access, safety team locations, laps remaining and the timing of approaching traffic to the incident. Additional factors on timing of a FCY also included pit windows and the running order of cars on track.

Effective immediately, INDYCAR Officiating will no longer take into consideration pit windows and the running order of cars on track before deploying a FCY. While there is no change to local yellow procedures, initiation of a FCY will be based primarily on: driver status, vehicle position and condition, the location and readiness of safety personnel, recovery access, and the speed differential between affected cars and approaching traffic.

“The Lap 21 incident on Saturday made clear that there needs to be a cleaner standard for how race control moves from a local to a full course yellow,” INDYCAR Officiating’s Independent Officiating Board chair Raj Nair said. “INDYCAR Officiating, with INDYCAR’s full support, has made this change of approach to ensure that the only inputs to the full course yellow escalation are safety ones. Streamlining the assessment will also save time as competitive considerations are no longer a factor.”

Added INDYCAR President J. Douglas Boles: “The most important job in race control is to ensure the safety of our drivers, crews, safety workers and fans. Saturday highlighted that we must not waver from that central mission and aligning everyone on that philosophy was critical to discuss over the last 48 hours. The Independent Officiating Board, the new managing director of officiating, race director and INDYCAR are all in agreement and the metrics used to determine when to initiate a full course yellow will now ensure that when there is any risk to driver safety that race control will initiate a full course yellow.”

The race result from Saturday’s race on the IMS road course stands as posted. The updated flag escalation standard has been communicated to teams and drivers.

The next NTT INDYCAR SERIES race is the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge Sunday, May 24. Coverage begins at 10 a.m. on FOX, FOX Deportes and FOX One. Audio coverage is available via INDYCAR Radio powered by OnlyBulls on SiriusXM channel 218 and the INDYCAR App powered by NTT DATA.
