Navigating California Motorcycle Lemon Law: What Riders Should Know

Consumer protection laws are in place for a reason and extend to just about anything you can think of tossing in a shopping cart. Occasionally known as lemon laws when vehicles are involved, the legal rules cover four-wheel vehicles but what about motorcycles?

Can riders fall back on San Diego motorcycle lemon law if there’s a problem with their new bike? Having to deal with a defective motorcycle can be frustrating and even dangerous. Whether it’s mechanical failures or safety issues, riders need to know how lemon law protections can apply to them.

California Lemon Laws and Motorcycles

Lemon laws work about the same whether it’s a car, SUV, truck, or motorcycle. The Golden State’s lemon laws cover just about any motorcycle purchased for family, household, and of course personal use. If the motorcycle is being used for business purposes, California’s lemon law may not have you covered.

If your bike is defective and can’t be repaired after a reasonable number of attempts, the manufacturer may be required to replace it or offer a refund. What’s considered a reasonable number of times can vary, but a good place to start is with three repair attempts.

All manufacturers and dealers are responsible for assuring that motorcycles meet quality and safety standards. When they don’t, riders have the right to hold them liable for their losses, in this case a non-working motorcycle. These protections exist to make sure that consumers are not left with unsafe or unreliable vehicles.

If you’re planning on using the lemon law to cover your losses, your bike must meet specific criteria. Typically, the bike must have a defect that lowers its value, makes it unsafe to ride, or restricts its use. You must also have tried to repair the defect more than one or two times. As mentioned earlier, sometimes three is the magic number but it varies depending on the type of defect.

Types of Defects Covered By Lemon Laws

Motorcycles can experience a variety of defects, many of which can fall under lemon law protections. These issues often go beyond simple inconveniences and affect the bike’s functionality or safety. Some of the most common defects include but aren’t limited to the following:

  • Engine problems: Issues such as stalling, overheating, or engine failure can render a motorcycle unreliable.
  • Transmission failures: Defective gears or shifting problems can make a bike dangerous to operate.
  • Electrical malfunctions: Problems with lights, ignition systems, or battery performance can significantly impact safety.
  • Brake defects: Faulty brakes pose a serious risk to riders and others on the road.

These defects can make it nearly impossible to enjoy or safely operate your motorcycle. Documenting these problems and working with a qualified California lemon law attorney can help you build a strong case against the bike manufacturer.

Steps to Take If Your Motorcycle Is a Lemon

When you suspect your motorcycle might qualify as a lemon, you want to act quickly. Taking the right steps can make a huge difference in the success of your claim.

Report the issue to the dealer or manufacturer. Provide them with a detailed description of the problem and request repairs. Keep records of all repair attempts, including receipts and communications with the service department. Some key factors to keep in mind include:

  • Repair attempts: California’s lemon law generally requires multiple repair attempts to address the defect.
  • Warranty coverage: The defect must occur within the manufacturer’s warranty period to qualify for lemon law protections.
  • Timeline: Promptly reporting issues and pursuing repairs strengthens your claim.

Your attorney can help you stay organized and on top of the steps so nothing falls through the cracks.

What To Expect During The Lemon Claim Process

You’re going to go through a few steps. Notifying the bike’s manufacturer is the first step, and sometimes it’s also the last one. Every now and then, bike manufacturers settle a lemon claim without too much fuss. If your claim keeps running into denials or the manufacturer isn’t responding, your next step is filing a formal claim in civil court.

Even if your defective motorcycle claim isn’t outright denied by the manufacturer, they may not still be ready to issue a check. You may find yourself going through arbitration either as a claim or lawsuit. Arbitration is similar to mediation. A neutral third party tries to get everyone to come to an agreement.

Before you sit down with an arbitrator, it’s a good idea to have legal representation. Having an attorney can strengthen your case and improve your chances of a favorable outcome. If you’re wondering how long the process takes. Claims may take several weeks or months, depending on the circumstances.

Challenges Riders May Face in Lemon Law Claims

While the lemon law protections are robust, some riders may encounter challenges when filing a claim. Manufacturers and dealers may dispute the claim or argue that the defect doesn’t qualify under the law.

In some cases, manufacturers may assert that the defect was caused by misuse or lack of maintenance. Riders should be prepared to counter these arguments by providing detailed records of proper care and usage. An experienced attorney can help address these disputes and advocate on your behalf. Other challenges include determining whether a defect substantially impairs the bike’s value or safety.

California Lemon Law and Used Motorcycles

Used motorcycles can also qualify for lemon law protections under certain conditions. If the bike is sold with a warranty, the same rights apply to addressing defects during the warranty period.

However, private sales are generally not covered by the Lemon Law. The protections apply only to motorcycles purchased from licensed dealers. Riders purchasing used bikes should carefully review the warranty terms and inspect the vehicle for potential issues before finalizing the sale.

Anyone can purchase a defective motorcycle. After all, it’s not like there’s a sign next to the bike in the showroom. However, if the defect is the manufacturer’s fault, you have legal rights under the Golden State’s lemon law. Before contacting the manufacturer, make sure you have plenty of documentation. You may also want to have a California motorcycle lemon law attorney by your side.

Nathan Byrd Pre-Race Quotes:

On Martinsville Speedway: “I’m excited to race my first ever half mile in the world of NASCAR. It’s definitely going to be a change of pace from the big fast tracks.

“We’ll see how close to home it feels compared to the nimbler cars I’m used to running at these short tracks.”

On Preparing for Martinsville Speedway: “The usual preparations of video review and simulator training are going well. I’ve learned a few things on the simulator and have gotten more comfortable with the nature of the track.

“It’s definitely an interesting place to race at on the simulator. I’m curious to see how it’ll translate over to real life on Friday.”

On Goals for Martinsville Speedway Debut: “I think that answer will really be determined once we see how competitive our truck-driver combo is Friday in practice and qualifying. It’s very possible that with a completely new track size, I’ll have a big learning curve with the truck, or I’ll end up being as comfortable or maybe even more comfortable with the truck than I’m expecting.

“Depending on how things go, we’ll adjust our goals for the race, but in the end, I think a top-20 finish will be a very awesome result, no matter what, for my first time at a NASCAR short track.”

On 2025 Season: “I think the biggest thing I’ve learned is that having confidence in the truck and track is the primary factor in how I perform. I continue to gain confidence through my experiences, both good and bad, and it’s translating into my ability to drive and race more effectively.

“It’s all a very big learning curve but I’m glad I’ve been able to start swimming rather than sink.”

The Xfinity Series veteran driver will look to improve his overall Martinsville Speedway average finish of 14.8.

Additionally, Alfredo has three NASCAR Cup Series starts at Martinsville Speedway with a best effort of 20th after starting 32nd in the 2021 Xfinity 500 driving for Front Row Motorsports.

With six down and 27 races to go, Alfredo and the Young’s Motorsports team look to punch their ticket toward the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs with a victory in the seventh race of the year.

The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will kick off NASCAR’s extended version of spring break with The Boys & Girls Club of the Blue Ridge 200 when Alfredo teammate Nathan Byrd looks for a strong finish under the Virginia lights.

Since 2020, he has earned one pole, five top-five, and 22 top-10 finishes and has an average finish of 19.6.

● Homestead-Miami Speedway | Hard Rock Bet 300 Race Recap: The solo trip to South Florida brought the Hard Rock 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race to life on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The Young’s Motorsports team entered the weekend aiming to build on a solid showing in practice, where Anthony Alfredo clocked the fourth quickest lap among the 39-car field.

In qualifying, Alfredo delivered the 25th fastest lap, setting up the team optimistically heading into the 200-lap race.

From the drop of the green flag, Alfredo showed early promise, flirting with the top 20 and maintaining lap times comparable to those in the top-10.

Solid mid-race adjustments from crew chief Andrew Abbott kept Alfredo in contention. However, with Stage 3 running all but caution-free until six laps to go, Alfredo had to hustle for track position.

On a restart with two laps to go, Alfredo gave it his all and captured the checkered flag in the 18th position for a second consecutive week – matching the team’s best finish of the 2025 season.

After six races, the team looks to carry this momentum forward and improve on their current average finish of 24.7 as the season progresses.

● Calling the Shots: Guiding Alfredo as crew chief of the No. 42 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro is longtime crew chief Andrew Abbott.

On Saturday, he will be crew chief in his 137th NASCAR Xfinity Series race. In his previous 136 races, he has four top-five and 13 top-10 finishes.

The season’s seventh race will be his sixth tango at Martinsville Speedway as crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

● Young’s Motorsports’ NASCAR Xfinity Series at Martinsville Speedway: This weekend will mark Young’s Motorsports’ third NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Martinsville Speedway.

In the team’s rookie season, the team earned an Xfinity-track best of 31st after starting 25th with rookie Leland Honeyman Jr. at the wheel in April 2024.

Anthony Alfredo Pre-Race Quotes:

On Martinsville Speedway: “Martinsville Speedway is one of my favorite race tracks because it provides classic short-track racing. I love being able to rub fenders a little and race hard.

“Sometimes, the ending can get a little crazy or out of hand if there is a late caution, so being ahead of all the mess is important.”

On Keys to Success at Martinsville Speedway: “Staying out of trouble and gaining track position before the final stage of the race is the most important thing to succeed at Martinsville Speedway.

“Unlike a lot of tracks, it’s proven to be possible to defend on older tires than be on the offensive on newer tires. Even if staying out is at the expense of being on older tires, I believe it will be worth the risk if necessary.”

On Goals for Martinsville Speedway: “A top-15 finish and some stage points would go a long way for us this weekend. If things go right, I believe we could even finish inside the top 10, which would be huge.”

On Building on Homestead-Miami Speedway Finish: “We have continued to build momentum the last few weeks, so our morale and confidence is high. I’m excited to apply that and have an even better result this weekend.”

On The 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series Season: “My goal this year with Young’s Motorsports is simple: to win a regular-season race and make the Playoffs.

“It’s certainly a tall order, but we can make it happen. We will build this program from the ground up and make that goal a reality.”

Application of AI in Online Casinos and its Benefits for Punters

AI — Personalised Experience in Online Casino

Artificial intelligence is being actively implemented in various spheres, and online casinos are no exception. As the experience of King Billy, a popular gambling platform in Australia, shows, machine learning algorithms fulfill several useful functions at once. They allow you to adapt the gaming process to users’ preferences, provide a high level of security, and monitor compliance with the principles of responsible gaming. AI helps analyse player behaviour, detect fraudulent schemes, and improve the quality of service. This article will discuss how artificial intelligence is used in the gambling industry.

The Benefits of AI Use for Casino Online Punters

The use of artificial intelligence not only improves online casino operations but also makes the gaming process more convenient and safe for users. Thanks to modern technology, players get a personalised experience, a high level of data protection, and additional tools to control their gaming behaviour. According to data from the experts at Kingbilly Casino Australia, the platform utilises AI in the following ways:

  • Improving customer security and protecting the project from hacker attacks and scammers.
  • Personalised offers for new and regular punters.
  • Control of responsible gaming, preventing the occurrence of addiction.
  • Improved customer service, expressed in the work of Kingbilly support and other forms.
  • Optimisation of the gaming experience, allowing providers to improve the quality of pokies and other software.
  • Analysing statistics to form Sportsbook on betting projects.

Modern artificial intelligence-based technologies help casino operators automate many processes and improve the user experience. Thanks to machine learning algorithms, content quality is improved, security is ensured, and customer interaction is personalised.

Security

AI is used to monitor suspicious activity and prevent fraud. Machine learning systems analyze the transactions and behavior of Kingbilly Casino users, detecting sudden changes in bets or multiple attempts to log into an account. This helps minimise the risks of hacking and fraudulent activity. In addition, modern algorithms help to fight money laundering by tracking suspicious money transfer schemes.

Game Design and Testing

Gambling providers use artificial intelligence to create better and more diverse gaming products in the King Billy Casino catalogue. Algorithms analyse player preferences, helping to determine which mechanics and themes are most popular. This allows pokies and other games to be released that meet the expectations of punters. AI is also used to automatically test software, which helps to quickly identify bugs and improve performance.

Responsibility Control

Online casinos are incorporating AI into responsible gaming systems. Algorithms analyze user behavior and can detect signs of addiction, such as excessive deposits, frequent losses, or increased time spent playing King Billy Casino real money. In such cases, the program may send notifications, suggest setting limits, or even temporarily restrict access to the account to prevent the development of a gambling addiction.

Content Personalisation

AI allows analysing players’ preferences and adapting content to their interests. Based on betting history and punters’ behaviour, the system offers personalised bonuses, promotions, and game recommendations. This makes the gaming process more convenient and interesting, and increases user loyalty to the platform.

Improving Customer Service

Chatbots and AI-powered virtual assistants allow King Billy Casino Australia to respond quickly to user queries. They can answer common questions, help with site navigation, and even process withdrawal requests. This reduces the load on the support team and makes communicating with the casino faster and more efficient.

Using statistics to make accurate predictions

AI is key in analysing statistics for sports betting lines and eSports. Modern algorithms process large amounts of data, such as the composition of teams, the individual form of players, weather conditions, and even the behavioural patterns of fans. This allows bookmakers to form more accurate odds and players to receive more reliable information for decision-making.

In addition, artificial intelligence can predict the likely outcomes of events, revealing hidden patterns inaccessible to traditional analysis methods. As a result, punters receive more balanced forecasts, while operators can quickly adjust odds depending on changes in the situation in real time.

So, the development of AI technologies significantly impacts the online gambling industry, as represented by Kingbilly.

RFK Racing’s New Team Making a Powerful Statement with Strong Start to 2025 Season

Concord, NC (March 27, 2025) – It is one of the best stories of the year: a brand-new team, formed only months ago, outrunning some of NASCAR’s most established cars. That’s what’s happening right now with Ryan Preece and Roush Fenway Keselowski (RFK) Racing’s No. 60 team.

Although they’ve spent only six races together, RFK’s newest team has consistently been among the top competitors. Preece has led in three of the season’s first six races and has now strung together consecutive top-10 finishes.

“The races have gone very well, and the potential has been seen,” said Preece. “It just shows me that there’s such a high ceiling.”

Despite a unavoidable Daytona crash and mechanical issue at the Circuit of the Americas, Preece ranks 16th in the standings and is an early contender for a playoff spot. Earlier this month, Preece matched a career best 3rd place finish with his impressive Las Vegas run and followed that up with a strong 9th place Homestead finish.

“Expect to win, boys. Don’t think about it, expect it.” These were the very first words Crew Chief Derrick Finley said over the team radio at Homestead-Miami Speedway last Sunday. It was a confident, motivational speech to a team that is embracing those very words.

“The team right now is lifting each other up, and it’s a really good team atmosphere,” Preece said. “It’s a new group, and they’ve just been killing it.”

Among the highlights has been the pit crew. The group, consisting of Justin Edgell (Fueler), Jonathan Willard (Tire Carrier), Steve Price (Rear Tire Changer), Samuel Wright (Jackman), and Kyle Fox (Front Tire Changer), has been smoothly executing pit stops in less than 8.8 seconds, including an 8.69-second full-service stop at Homestead.

RFK Racing announced this fall that it would expand in 2025. In just a matter of months, the new team was formed. Roster additions include Preece and several new crew members who have come to RFK from various organizations. Finley, who joined RFK as Director of Operations in 2022, leads the team as Crew Chief. In a short period, this group has not only built a full fleet of cars but has gelled into a competitive team.

For some outside the walls of RFK, the 60-team’s strong start may have been unexpected, but not for this group.

“We want to be a powerhouse,” said Preece, “and we’re going to push for everything we’ve got to win races.”

Carrying momentum, Preece will wheel the Fastenal Ford Mustang at Martinsville this weekend; a track considered one of his strongest.

Preece at Martinsville
Starts: 11

Top-10s: 1

  • Preece will make his 12th career Cup start at Martinsville this weekend, where he earned his first career pole and led a career-high 135 laps in the 2023 spring race.
  • He posted the two highest finishes of his career at the track last season, finishing 9th in the spring and 14th in the fall.
  • Preece has started inside the top-10 in three of his last four races at Martinsville, including a P8 start in last season’s fall race.
  • He is a two-time winner in the NASCAR Modified Tour at Martinsville, earning his first career win in 2008 and finding victory lane once again in 2023.

AARON STANFIELD LOOKS FOR FIRST PRO STOCK WIN OF 2025 AT LUCAS OIL NHRA WINTERNATIONALS

POMONA, Calif. (March 27, 2025) – Pro Stock standout Aaron Stanfield had an exceptional season in 2024 and with the 65th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip approaching this weekend, the young standout is hoping to continue his momentum at Pomona during the third stop of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.

Stanfield drives the Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage/Melling Performance/Janac Brothers Racing car for Pro Stock powerhouse team Elite Motorsports. Last season, he gathered six race wins and four runner-up finishes, and with a two previous Pomona wins to credit, Stanfield hopes a return to In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip will kickstart his 2025 campaign.

“I love racing in Pomona and look forward to getting back there,” Stanfield said. “We did some testing following the Phoenix race and we felt like we came away with some direction, and it was a great showcase of how hard our guys are willing to work to win.”

The 2024 Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals saw Justin Ashley (Top Fuel), John Force (Funny Car) and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) claiming wins. This season’s race will again be broadcast on FS1, including elimination coverage on Sunday March 30 at 6:30 p.m. ET. A special Right Trailers Top Fuel All-Star Callout special will air from 9:30-10:30 p.m. ET on Friday, March 28.

Last weekend at the NHRA Arizona Nationals, Stanfield advanced to the semifinals where it met up with eventual winner and reigning world champion Greg Anderson. Heading into Pomona, Stanfield is focused on building on his momentum from Phoenix and continuing to push forward.

“Heading into Pomona, I think we just need to keep our heads down and work,” Stanfield said. “During these back-to-back races, my mindset is to focus on one thing at a time. All these Elite Motorsports guys have worked hard and I just need to do my part to make sure their hard work pays off.”

Aaron Stanfield, 2024 NHRA Nevada Nationals Pro Stock winner

With his semifinal finish in Phoenix, Stanfield will be entered into this weekend’s Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge on Saturday when he’ll rematch with Anderson. The other pairing will be Gainesville winner Dallas Glenn and Cory Reed. Jeg Coughlin won the first Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge of the season last weekend in Phoenix.

“I’m looking forward to competing in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge on Saturday,” Stanfield said. “Hopefully, it’s the first of many Saturday race days for this team. I wouldn’t mind following up Jeg’s win with one of our won and keep it in the Elite Motorsports family.”

Top Fuel pilot Ashley is looking for his fourth straight Winternationals win. If he’s able to win this weekend, he’ll join Don Prudhomme as the only drivers to win four straight Winternationals titles. The rest of the Top Fuel field will be looking to put an end to that streak, including reigning champion Antron Brown. Brown claimed his fourth world title last year at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals.

The Top Fuel division will also hold the Right Trailers Top Fuel All-Star Callout on Friday. The first-round matchups are set, as four-time world champion Steve Torrence takes on racing legend Tony Stewart, while Doug Kalitta called out Clay Millican. Shawn Langdon selected Brown as his opening-round opponent, and Ashley and Brittany Force will face off.

Funny Car driver Paul Lee earned his first nitro win last week in Phoenix over reigning champion Austin Prock. If he wants to earn a second this weekend, he’ll need to get past some of the best drivers in the division, including Prock and his teammate Jack Beckman. Also in the mix will be former champions Ron Capps, Matt Hagan and J.R. Todd, along with Gainesville winner Chad Green.

Fans can also see the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Legends Nitro Funny Cars and Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown, while the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department will hold a special racing exhibition.

The Nitro Alley Stage is a huge attraction all weekend and is the main entertainment hub in the pits, hosting Nitro School, NHRA Insider Live, meet and greets, and much more. As always, fans get a pit pass to the most powerful and sensory-filled motorsports attraction on the planet. Fans can see their favorite teams in action and servicing their hot rods between rounds and get autographs from their favorite NHRA drivers.

Race fans at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip can also enjoy the special pre-race ceremonies that celebrate each of the drivers racing for the prestigious Wally on Sunday and includes the fan favorite SealMaster Track Walk. The final can’t-miss experience of any NHRA event is the winner’s circle celebration on Sunday after racing concludes, where fans are invited to congratulate the event winners.

NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series qualifying features qualifying at 1 p.m. and 3:30 PT on Friday and the final two rounds on Saturday at 12:30 and 3 p.m. The finals of the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge take place at the end of final qualifying in each category. Final eliminations are scheduled for 11 a.m. PT on Sunday. Television coverage includes qualifying on FS1 at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday, leading into eliminations at 6:30 p.m. ET. A special Right Trailers Top Fuel All-Star Callout special will air from 9:30-10:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

● Future Focused: In September, AM Racing announced that NASCAR Cup Series winner Harrison Burton would join the family-owned operation to pilot the team’s No. 25 Ford Mustang, beginning with the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season-opener from Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on February 15, 2025.

Burton, a native of Huntersville, N.C., has been a staple in the NASCAR Cup Series for the past three seasons but will embrace a return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series and continue his relationship as a driver

of the Ford blue oval.

Burton, 24, arrives on the scene at AM Racing after a 108-race stint driving for the historic Wood Brothers Racing team.

● Dead On Focused: In January, AM Racing announced a new partnership for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, which continues with the LiUNA NASCAR Xfinity Series Race. As part of the agreement, Dead On Tools will serve as the primary partner for the team’s rebranded No. 25 Ford Mustang.

● Harrison Burton NASCAR Xfinity Series Martinsville Speedway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s Marine Corps 250 will mark Burton’s fourth Xfinity Series start at the popular 0.526-mile speedway nestled in the Old Dominion.

Burton has delivered one win and two top-10 finishes in his previous three starts. In 2020, Burton scored his fourth NASCAR Xfinity Series win of his career after starting 10th in the 2020 edition of the Draft Top 250, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Additionally, Burton carries an average Xfinity track finish of 9.3.

Also, the Huntersville, N.C. native has six NASCAR Cup Series starts at Martinsville, delivering a track-best of 11th after starting 10th in the 2022 edition of the Xfinity 500 driving for Wood Brothers Racing.

Burton, the second-generation racer, also earned three top-10 finishes in seven NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts at Martinsville Speedway.

● Harrison Burton NASCAR Xfinity Series Career Stats: Entering Martinsville, Burton has 81 career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts to his credit with four wins, 26 top-five and 52 top-10 finishes, and a championship best result of eighth, twice in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Burton’s four wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series occurred during the 2020 season. Burton, the son of former NASCAR driver and current television analyst Jeff Burton, captured the checkered flag at Auto Club (Calif.) Speedway, Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, respectively.

In addition to the 81 Xfinity Series starts, he has achieved 109 NASCAR Cup Series starts, 40 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts and 52 career starts across the ARCA Menards Series platforms.

● Homestead-Miami Speedway | Hard Rock Bet 300 Race Recap: The solo trip to South Florida brought the Hard Rock 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race to life on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

After a solid practice, Burton qualified his No. 25 Dex Imaging Ford Mustang in the 12th position.

From the drop of the green flag, Burton hovered inside the top 15 despite battling a tight race car.

Adjustments from crew chief Danny Efland allowed Burton to battle inside the top-10 throughout Stages 2 and 3. Still, Burton didn’t have the grip he needed on older tires to earn his fourth top-10 finish of the season and instead settled for a solid 11th-place finish at the checkered flag.

● Thanks For Your Support: With 18 percent of the 2025 Xfinity season complete, AM Racing and Harrison Burton would like to thank their associate marketing partners for their support: AIRBOX Air Purifier, DEX Imaging, Eagle Rentals, Flying Circle, Mechanix Wear, Morton Buildings, No Days Off Premium Water, Racing Radios, Volt Batteries and WIX Filters.

● From the Pit Box: Veteran race engineer and former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Danny Efland is Harrison Burton’s crew chief.

He will be crew chief for his 11th career NASCAR Xfinity Series race, his first at Martinsville Speedway, on Saturday afternoon.

In his previous 10 Xfinity Series starts, he has collected one pole (Daytona International Speedway | February 2016), one top-five and four top-10 finishes.

On Keys to Success at Martinsville Speedway: “Track position is critical for success at Martinsville Speedway. As much as you want track position, you also want to make sure you have a good handling car so you can take advantage of being on new tires.”

On Homestead-Miami Speedway Finish: “It was a solid effort by our AM Racing team. I was a little bummed that we couldn’t put our No. 25 DEX Imaging Ford Mustang inside the top 10, but I feel like we learned a lot at Homestead, and I hope we can apply that to future races on the schedule.”

On 2025 Season Outlook: “I believe we can turn some heads in 2025. I believe our goals and expectations are not only attainable, but we can also execute them effectively and put this AM Racing team into the Playoffs in 2025.

  • The organization is a perfect three for three in spring races at Martinsville in the Next Gen era.
  • Hendrick Motorsports’ 16 top-10 showings through six races in 2025 are the most for the organization and the third-most of any team ever.
  • The team’s four drivers have spent a combined 3,077 laps running in the top 10 this season and a Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet has been running in the top 10 in 96% of the laps run, both of which lead all teams in the Cup Series.
  • With Kyle Larson’s victory last week at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Hendrick Motorsports has now won at least twice in the first six races of a season in five straight years, the organization’s longest such streak in history.

QUOTABLE /

Kyle Larson, driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet, on his development at Martinsville Speedway: “When I started at Hendrick Motorsports, the car was probably a little bit better than I was at Martinsville (Speedway). But we’ve gotten better as a whole and I think it’s one of our best tracks now. We got a win there in 2023 and had solid runs and finishes there last year, so we’re looking forward to this weekend.”

Chase Elliott, driver of the No. 9 Chevrolet, on whether or not short track racing has improved lately in the Next Gen era: “It seems like it. I mean it seems like it’s better, for sure, and it seems like it’s largely in part to the tire, truthfully. The more I kind of look at it, the more I kind of just feel like, man, maybe this tire thing is really … we’re onto something there. But, if there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout my course of doing this is that just when you think you start to figure something out, you didn’t and you don’t, and whatever you think you know, you probably didn’t to begin with. So, I certainly don’t act like I have the answer. I do think the tire thing, seemingly from the gains that we’ve made, is pretty important considering it’s what touches the ground.”

William Byron, driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet, on returning to Martinsville Speedway: “I’m confident but also not extremely confident. We’ve had some good runs and we’ve also had some just OK runs. We have some work to do from Bowman Gray (Stadium) on our short-track package but I think we’ll still be in a good place. It’s really about having a good long run car and that’s what we will really focus on.”

Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet, on Martinsville Speedway: “I feel like Martinsville is a decent track for me. We have had some success there in the past and won there back in the fall of 2021. Qualifying is going to be really important this weekend just to start the race off with good track position since it’s just difficult to pass. Our team is coming off from a solid run in Miami and we just need to keep the momentum and consistency going.”

Greg Van Alst Returns to Martinsville Speedway for Fourth Xfinity Start of 2025

MARTINSVILLE, Va.: Set to make his fourth NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the season in Saturday’s Marine Corps 250 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, short-track veteran Greg Van Alst is eager to produce a season-best finish for his Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen team.

The Anderson, Ind. native is set to make his first Xfinity Series short track start of the season after competing at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway and Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway, respectively.

With a season-high 26th-place finish at the “World Center of Daytona” last month, Van Alst is eager to improve and deliver his Mooresville, N.C.-based team a top-20 finish.

Van Alst is confident that his short-track experience will be an asset this weekend at Martinsville.

“I’m really looking forward to Martinsville,” said Van Alst. “Short tracks are my bread and butter. It’s where I’ve had the most success throughout my career, and I feel like Martinsville presents a great opportunity for us to have our best finish of the season.”

The former ARCA Menards Series winner is also looking forward to capitalizing on his recent Martinsville Speedway finish, where last November, Van Alst earned a solid finish in his track debut at the famed paperclip oval.

“I learned a lot last year at Martinsville,” Van Alst said. “It’s a tough place — tight corners, heavy braking, and a lot of beating and banging — but I felt like we held our own and came away with a respectable result. Now that I’ve got some laps under my belt there, I feel like I have a better understanding of what to expect and how to approach the race.

“Martinsville is all about track position and survival. If we can keep the nose clean and be there at the end, I think we have a shot to put ourselves in a good spot when it counts.”

After three diverse starts on a superspeedway, intermediate track, and a one-mile oval, Van Alst believes the return to a short track will play to his strengths.

“We’ve shown speed at times this year, but things just haven’t fallen our way,” Van Alst added. “Martinsville is a place where you need to be patient, take care of your equipment, and be in a position to capitalize at the end. If we can stay out of trouble and have a clean race, I think a top-20 finish is within reach.”

Van Alst’s No. 35 team, led by veteran crew chief Mike Hillman Sr, has been steadily improving with each race. Despite suffering mechanical gremlins at Las Vegas, the veteran driver is optimistic that their hard work will translate to success on Saturday night.

“We’ve been building something good here at Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen,” Van Alst said. “The team has been working hard in the shop and at the track, and I’m grateful for the effort everyone has put in. Hopefully, we can reward that with a strong finish at Martinsville.”

For the second time this season, Van Alst’s No. 35 Chevrolet will carry continued support from Anderson, Ind.-based CB Fabricating.

Headquartered in Anderson, Ind., CB Fabricating offers a complete list of fabricating from design, laser cutting, CNC punching, forming, welding, powder coating, and assembly.

“Chris (Barkdull, CB Fabrication owner) is a huge short-track guy,” added Van Alst. “He knows what it takes to be successful at tracks like Martinsville, and having his support and knowledge behind us gives me a lot of confidence heading into the weekend.

“Chris has been a big part of helping us get this program off the ground, and it would mean a lot to have a strong run for him and everyone at CB Fabrication.”

For his 11th career Xfinity Series start, Van Alst will continue to be supported by long-time partner CB Fabricating while welcoming CBT (Car Boat Truck) Detail, Top Choice Fence and Vern’s Concrete as associate marketing partners for the first of two Xfinity trips to the Old Dominion this season.

Since 2023, Van Alst has had 10 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, earning a career-best 26th-place finish twice, most recently at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in February 2025.
