PRO STOCK’S DALLAS GLENN RETURNS TO HOME TRACK AT PACIFIC RACEWAYS; PSM’S CHASE VAN SANT HOPES TO REPEAT SEATTLE SUCESS

SEATTLE (July 18, 2025) – As NHRA teams head west to Pacific Raceways for this weekend’s 36th annual Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals, standout Dallas Glenn is hoping to nab his first Pro Stock win at his home track.

Glenn, originally from Covington, Wash., finished runner-up at last year’s Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals to five-time champion Jeg Coughlin Jr. Glenn spent time racing at the Pacific Raceways as a kid, so a win in Seattle would mean a lot.

“I’ve been thinking about our runner-up in Seattle since the day we left last year,” said Glenn. “We came up just a little short against Jeg and we want to seal the deal this year.”

Glenn has already picked up three wins this season in his RAD Torque Systems Chevrolet Camaro. He currently sits second in points behind his KB Titan teammate and reigning world champion Greg Anderson. Anderson has four wins on the season and leads Glenn by 50 points. This season for the first time, NHRA will be crowning regular season champions in each of the four Mission Foods Drag Racing Series class. The Pro Stock regular season championship will come down to Glenn and Anderson.

“I can’t express how badly I want to win the regular season championship now that we are crowning them in the NHRA this year,” Glenn said. “I’ve been No. 1 in points heading into the Countdown the last two years but there wasn’t a regular season champion so now that we have it, I want it. I want it bad.

“The way we get ahead of Greg is just keep the focus in our lane and keep turning on as many win lights as we can and hope Greg makes a few mistakes here and there. He’s not making many mistakes this season so we need to capitalize on it whenever we can.”

Last year, Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Austin Prock (Funny Car), Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Chase Van Sant (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all picked up victories, while Justin Ashley, Prock, Aaron Stanfield and Gaige Herrera won the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge bonus race. It is the 11th of 20 races during the 2025 NHRA season and this weekend in Seattle is loaded with excitement.

Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Van Sant earned his first career win last season in Seattle when he won over Herrera. Van Sant’s victory snapped Herrera winning streaking at 11, which was the most consecutive wins in NHRA history.

“It was such a surreal day for me,” said Van Sant. “It was one of those moments where a lifetime dream came true, and you can look back at your whole journey and all of the hard times and good times you went through to get there, and it just felt like a bit of a weight off of my shoulders. Especially doing it in the way that we did it, it was super validating and gave me a lot of confidence that I belong in the position that I’m in. It also lights a little bit more of a fire to keep chasing that and ever since that day, it’s been more motivating to try get back there.”

Van Sant has two semifinal finishes under his belt in 2025. Returning to Pacific Raceways gives him an extra boost of motivation after earn his first Wally last season.

“It definitely gives me confidence. I’ve always loved Seattle and that track, and it’s one that I always look forward to going to. I’m hoping going back just brings back some of those feelings and memories and sparks some performance out of myself and the whole team. We have had a really tough couple of races leading up to Seattle, but we have a great team and they’ve been working so hard to find the performance we need to get back to where we feel like we belong.”

The Top Fuel class is lead by 2024 NHRA Rookie of the Year and motorsports legend Tony Stewart, who picked up wins in Las Vegas and Chicago. Former champion Shawn Langdon is in second after earned two wins, with Norwalk winner Justin Ashley in third. Each of the three will be seeking his first Seattle win this weekend.

Funny Car champion Prock once again leads the field, after collecting four wins so far in 2025. Last season marked his second Seattle win over Paul Lee, after winning in 2019 in Top Fuel. Prock’s John Force Racing teammate Jack Beckman is second in points, thanks to his two wins in Pomona and Chicago. Lee currently sits third after a consistant first of the season, including a career first win in Phoenix.

On Saturday following qualifying, race fans can visit Muckleshoot Casino Resort for the official NHRA after-party with live music from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. PT.

Also on the track will be the standouts in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. All weekend, fans will be invited to the Nitro Alley Stage, which is the main entertainment hub in the pits. Steering Toward Confidence: The Value of Local Driver Training

Starting your journey behind the wheel is both exciting and nerve-wracking. As learners develop their skills, the quality of instruction and location can make a big impact. From basic road awareness to mastering more challenging routes, the environment plays a critical role in shaping how people learn. In a busy area with diverse road types, the experience becomes even more valuable. Taking Driving Lessons Stirchley Birmingham gives new drivers access to real-world training in a setting with a variety of traffic conditions. Local familiarity helps ease anxiety and supports better decision-making as lessons progress. Continue reading to see how the right training can lead to lasting confidence behind the wheel.

Building Confidence One Lesson at a Time

The early stages of learning to drive can feel overwhelming. There are new rules, unfamiliar vehicles, and real-time decisions to be made. A patient and structured lesson plan makes all the difference. With each hour on the road, students begin to feel more in control. Feedback from instructors helps learners understand what they’re doing well and where improvement is needed. These sessions offer encouragement while building practical knowledge. Confidence doesn’t appear overnight—it develops through small wins and consistent practice.

Exploring a Variety of Road Types

Driving in one area doesn’t prepare you for every situation. That’s why training on different roads is essential. Instructors gradually introduce learners to main roads, quiet streets, complex intersections, and busier roundabouts. Each route offers a different challenge, teaching drivers how to adapt to changing environments. Navigating through mixed traffic conditions sharpens awareness and reaction time. When lessons cover a range of settings, learners leave better prepared for their test and real-world driving.

Practicing Real-Time Decision Making

Reading the road and making safe decisions is a skill learned through experience. Instructors teach students how to anticipate hazards, manage right-of-way, and stay alert to unexpected changes. This real-time thinking can’t be learned from a book. Through repetition, learners begin to trust their instincts and stay calm under pressure. These decision-making moments—like when to slow down, change lanes, or adjust speed—help build strong, independent drivers. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, with each challenge contributing to overall growth.

Encouraging Positive Habits Early

Safe driving is a collection of good habits built over time. From regular mirror checks to smooth gear transitions, the small routines taught early become lasting behavior. Instructors emphasize defensive driving, awareness of surroundings, and respect for others on the road. These habits not only help during a driving test but also reduce risks in everyday travel. Learning them from the start sets a strong foundation for a future of safe, confident driving. The earlier these habits take hold, the easier they are to maintain.

Supporting Long-Term Success

Learning doesn’t stop after passing the test. The mindset, discipline, and techniques gained during lessons carry into daily driving. Instructors aim to equip learners with more than just the ability to steer and brake—they help shape a calm, focused, and responsible driver. Success in this role means understanding how to navigate traffic, control emotions, and make thoughtful choices. Over time, these lessons influence how people drive for years to come. It’s not just about getting a license; it’s about becoming someone others feel safe sharing the road with.

Starting your driving journey with the right instruction makes all the difference. The road ahead becomes clearer when learners are supported with guidance, structure, and real-world experience.

Porsche develops 911 Cup race car for 2026 season launch

911 Cup race car

New model for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Carrera Cup series

Atlanta., July 18, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The new Porsche 911 Cup will make its world debut this summer. The comprehensively optimized one-make cup race car based on the current 992.2 generation of the 911 has already largely completed its development phase. The 911 Cup will be used in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and in selected Carrera Cup series including Porsche Carrera Cup North America from the start of the 2026 season.

Since 1990, the Porsche 911 has provided the basis for the sports car manufacturer’s one-make cup racing series. What began at the time with the German Porsche Carrera Cup and expanded three years later to include the Porsche Supercup as part of selected Formula 1® Grand Prix races has long since developed into a global success story. In the current season, Carrera Cup competitions are taking place in more than twelve countries around the world: from Japan and Asia to Australia and the Middle East, from North and South America to Europe. In addition, there are 23 Porsche-sanctioned Sprint and Endurance Challenges and Trophies, which also use the 911 GT3 Cup for their races. This is also reflected in the production figures: with 5,381 units now built, the 911-based one-make cup cars are among the most produced racing cars in the world.

The Cup cars are produced side by side with 911 series models at the main plant in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. The current model, which debuted in the 2021 season, alone has been produced 1,130 times. Production of a Type 992.1 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup took just under eight hours.

Dynamic development phase on three demanding racetracks

Work on the new competition vehicle began at Porsche Motorsport in Weissach in January 2024. Like its predecessors, the 911 Cup once again combines series production technology with high-caliber motorsport attributes, transforming it more than ever into a thoroughbred racing car. Among other things, development focused on improving the aerodynamics of the front end, which improves drivability. In addition, there are numerous improvements to vehicle electronics, brakes, the transmission and the six-cylinder boxer engine, as well as vehicle handling. “We are already operating at a very high-performance level with the current GT3 Cup,” Jan Feldmann, Project Manager for GT racing cars at Porsche Motorsport said. “This has allowed us to focus more on feedback from the global one-make cups and develop a racing car that has been refined in many areas compared to the current Cup 911.”

Real-world test drives took place on the Italian Grand Prix circuit in Monza, at the Lausitzring in Brandenburg and on the in-house track at the Weissach development center. Two former Porsche Juniors took turns at the wheel: Bastian Buus from Denmark, Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup champion in 2023, and Klaus Bachler. The Austrian won the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGT3 drivers in 2024, among other things. Laurin Heinrich, 2024 IMSA champion in the GTD Pro class, and Marco Seefried, a very experienced racer, also spent time driving the prototypes.

Test program exclusively with eFuel blend from Porsche Supercup

The eFuel blend used in the 2025 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup (PMSC) technically meets the new Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Appendix J requirements for renewable (“Advanced Sustainable”) fuel, and with all combined CO2 reduction measures,* corresponds to a total CO2 equivalent reduction of 66 percent compared to a fossil fuel equivalent. The proportion of renewable components in this performance-specialized racing fuel blend is 79.7 percent by volume. Renewable synthetic raw gasoline, known as MtG (methanol-to-gasoline), makes up the largest proportion of the mix. Other blending components include renewable, waste-based or residual-based ethanol, which is used to increase the oxygen content in the fuel and the octane rating, among other things. The octane rating is 100.5 RON. The racing fuel blend was developed specifically for the boxer engines used in motorsport and combines high performance with the highest possible proportion of renewable blending components.

*HIF, the manufacturer of the raw fuel used for the racing fuel blend, is taking several measures at its Haru Oni pilot plant in Chile to keep CO2 emissions from production as low as possible. Among other things, the electricity required for grid connection and control room stabilization is sourced exclusively from renewable wind energy. At the same time, CO2 emissions from transport are offset by CO2 certificates from South American renewable energy plants for the provision of biogenic CO2 for eFuel synthesis. This means that, as far as possible, all elements in the supply chain can demonstrate a reduction in CO2 emissions. HIF has set itself the goal of obtaining the CO2 required for the synthesis process from a direct air capturing (DAC) plant in the future. Development is being driven forward in collaboration with partners. To minimize the need for grid stabilization, HIF is also integrating a dynamic battery storage system to act as an energy buffer. This will enable HIF to transfer important findings from the pilot plant to potential series production plants.

RP Motorsports by Forte Racing Returns to the Track at Virginia International Raceway This Weekend

Team’s 2025 McLaren Trophy America Season Aims to Drive Awareness and Support for Relapsing Polychondritis and Related Autoimmune Disease Research

Alton, Virginia (Friday, July 18, 2025) – RP Motorsports by Forte Racing returns to action this weekend at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) for the third round of the 2025 McLaren Trophy America season. The team is eager to get back on track following a lengthy break after its tripleheader at Circuit of the Americas in April. Now, with renewed momentum and the benefit of a productive test at VIR, the team is targeting another competitive outing.

This weekend marks a return to the standard two-race format, and the team will be aiming for top results while continuing to spotlight its broader mission: raising awareness and support for autoimmune disease research through the Race for RP initiative.

The #53 RP Motorsports by Forte Racing McLaren Artura Trophy EVO will once again be piloted by the duo of Neil “Nigel” Langberg and Kevin Madsen. Together, they not only share driving duties but a passion for using motorsport as a platform to drive meaningful change through their support of the Relapsing Polychondritis Foundation and Race for RP. The entry will be backed by Forte Racing, ensuring the car is prepared to meet the demands of one of North America’s most technical circuits.

“Hello again, this is Neil/Nigel Langberg, co-driver of the #53 RPM/Forte Racing MTA car,” Langberg said. “This weekend we’re at VIR for the third round of the MTA season. Life usually moves fast, but it’s been two months since our last race—and during that time, we’ve been thinking about the patients still waiting: waiting for more research, more funding, more hope. We can’t look backward for answers; progress is always found ahead of us. While we waited with them off the track, we’ll be flat-out on track, driving toward more positive outcomes. Join us in the race for Relapsing Polychondritis and help restore the BOP (balance of performance) in this fight. We’ll see you at VIR—it’s going to be a barn burner!”

Co-driver Kevin Madsen praised the progress made during the break, noting improvements in both the car and his co-driver.

“The Race for RP team has been working hard during this break to maximize performance and reliability,” Madsen said. “Our great crew—including Pete, Guy, James, Garrison, Frankie, Jahleek and David—has made real progress with the #53 car while also preparing the new #82 entry. I’m excited to be back out there with Neil, who’s also made great strides on the sim. We’re ready to put down a strong weekend.”

Program manager Jon Miller believes the team is well positioned to return to the podium.

“Back at it in Virginia for the midpoint of the McLaren Trophy America season already!” Miller said. “The #53 RP Motorsports entry is ready to hunt for more podiums with Neil and Kevin behind the wheel. We’re looking forward to bringing our message of awareness for Relapsing Polychondritis and autoimmune disease research back to the front of the field—right where we left off at COTA!”

Team Principal Shane Seneviratne emphasized the broader impact of the program and the team’s commitment to both performance and purpose.

“This program is a great example of how motorsport can make a difference beyond the racetrack,” Seneviratne said. “Neil and Kevin have built a strong partnership, and the car is showing real pace. Our entire team is proud to support Race for RP and the Relapsing Polychondritis Foundation while continuing to compete at a high level in the McLaren Trophy America series.”

The McLaren Trophy America races at VIR will be streamed live on McLarenTrophy.com. Race 1 takes place Saturday, July 19 at 12:05 PM ET, with Race 2 on Sunday, July 20 at 10:15 PM ET.

GMG Racing’s Momentum Remains Strong with a Five-Car Entry for the SRO America Race Weekend at VIR

  • Memories and Momentum of a Career Weekend at Circuit of The Americas One Race Ago Remain Strong as GMG Racing Begins the Final Half of the 2025 SRO America Season this Weekend at VIRginia International Raceway
  • Kyle Washington Continues GT America Powered by AWS Championship Bid and GT World Challenge America Campaign at VIR in Twin No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Entries
  • Washington and Co-Driver Tom Sargent Defending GT World Challenge America VIR Race Winners Following First Series Victory Together in 2024
  • CJ Moses Set for Second Start of the GT America Powered by AWS in the No. 58 GMG Racing/CrowdStrike/AWS Audi R8 LMS GT2 on VIR “Home Track”
  • John Capestro-Dubets in the No. 4 GMG Racing McLaren Trophy Evo and James Sofronas in the Sister No. 14 GMG Racing Entry Renew McLaren Trophy America Title Fights at VIR

DANVILLE, Virginia (April 17, 2025) – The memory and momentum of GMG Racing’s career weekend one race ago at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) remains strong as the championship-winning team brings a season-high five entries, and several 2025 title bids, to this weekend’s SRO America event at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). The race is the first event of the second half of SRO America’s racing season and comes after the series’ traditional early-summer break following the most recent race weekend at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in late April.

At COTA, GMG Racing hauled in a mega tally of six total race wins and a nearly-perfect nine podium appearances in the weekend’s 10 races across four classes in three different SRO America sports car racing series. Team drivers Kyle Washington, Tom Sargent, John Capestro-Dubets, Andre Solano and Team Principal and Founder James Sofronas all visited the victory lane podium at least once at COTA in a competitive weekend of racing in SRO America GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, GT America powered by AWS and the McLaren Trophy America racing series.

The GMG Racing lineup is even stouter this weekend at VIR with a fifth team entry from driver CJ Moses counting for a fifth class of competition in the single driver GT America powered by AWS racing series in the GT2 class.

“Although it was several months ago, if you look at what we did at COTA, we have a great baseline on not only Kyle’s Porsches but our new McLaren Trophy entries as well,” Sofronas said. “Our think tank is pretty deep on set ups. Although we have not tested the McLarens since COTA, I feel like we have the brain power to get us up to speed quickly. And I would say the same thing for the Porsches as our experience with that platform goes wide and deep. I talked to Kyle last week. He turned a few laps in at the Thermal Club in one of his other cars to stay fresh. So, I think we’re poised for another good result at VIR.”

Washington won his second GT America race of the season at COTA and co-drove with Sargent for their first podium finish of the year in GT World Challenge with a third-place finish on Saturday. Even better, Washington and Sargent broke through for their first GT World Challenge Pro-Am class win last year at VIR in a No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche and return to this weekend’s race primed for the repeat.

GMG Racing’s twin McLaren Artura Trophy Evo entries put on a display of weekend dominance at COTA with Pro and Am-class victories in the new McLaren Trophy America series. On Saturday, Capestro-Dubets – aka JCD – joined debuting co-driver Andre Solano for a come-from-behind Pro and overall victory in the No. 4 GMG Racing McLaren Trophy Evo. They were joined on the winner’s podium by Sofronas, who secured the Am victory from the overall pole in the No. 14 GMG Racing McLaren Trophy Evo.

The No. 4 and No. 14 McLaren teams upped the ante even higher in Sunday’s final 50-minute race at COTA. Solano joined JCD for the overall and Pro win while Sofronas won again in Am with a second-place overall finish. Even better, Sofronas won the Am class in a special Friday “makeup race” at COTA for a rained out sprint earlier in the season at Sonoma. Hs perfect three-for-three McLaren Am-class victories accounted for half of GMG’s six race win total at COTA.

Sofronas and JCD run solo McLaren Trophy efforts this weekend in the No. 14 and No. 4, respectively.

The GMG Racing lineup grows to a season-high five entries at VIR with the return of longtime team driver Moses.

In his second start of the season after running at Long Beach in April, Moses once again wheels his unique No. 58 GMG Racing/CrowdStrike/AWS Audi R8 LMS GT2 on a VIR circuit he calls a home track.”

“We love when CJ races with us, and nobody works harder at what they do than he does,” Sofronas said. “He gets up on the wheel, and with not a lot of competition with the GT2 class, he just wants to continue to improve, and we’ve seen his progress. Hopefully he’ll be on the heels of some of his competitors at some point because he’s very comfortable at VIR, basically his home track.”

The first 50-minute McLaren Trophy race starting at 12:05 p.m. EDT. The McLaren opener is followed by the GT America 40-minute race at 1:10 p.m. EDT and the first GT World Challenge America race at 3:15 p.m. EDT.

Sunday’s final rounds start at 9:15 a.m. EDT for GT America and the McLaren Trophy weekend finale an hour later at 10:15 a.m. EDT. The weekend-ending GT World Challenge race goes off at 2:45 p.m. EDT.

All of the weekend’s races air live on RACER TV and the GTWorld YouTube channel.

About GMG Racing: Founded in 2001, GMG Racing quickly established itself as North America’s premier performance tuning facility. What began as a small 1,200 sq. ft. shop, maintaining two race cars, has grown into a state-of-the-art performance tuning, racing and service facility relocated last year to The Thermal Club and a 28,000 sq. ft. trackside motorsports facility. Quick Guide on What to Do After an Auto Accident and Navigating Claims

Photo by Usman Malik on Unsplash

A car accident is incredibly stressful, overwhelming, and full of surprises. Regardless of whether it is a minor or severe accident, knowing what to do following a car accident can make a massive difference in the aftermath. If you’re ever unsure of how to deal with complicated claims following an accident, working with an experienced Auto Accident Law Firm can be of excellent service to you.

Having any plan, even a mental one, will help ensure that you are safe and your rights are protected. Here is what you should do:

Check Yourself, Check Others, Call Emergency Services

Priority number one is your safety. If you are conscious, you need to check yourself for injuries immediately, and subsequently any passengers for injuries. Even if you have no visible or minor injuries, you should still call emergency services immediately. This is because some symptoms may not reveal themselves right away, such as a life-threatening concussion.

Relocate to a Safe Position

If your car is still drivable and the accident is minor, attempt to move it to the side of the road. This is important because there is potential for other drivers to collide if your vehicle stops on the road. If you are successful, remember to turn on your hazard lights to signal other drivers.

There may be times when the car is unable to drive. If this is the case, assess your situation carefully. It may be best to remain inside your vehicle unless there is an immediate life-threatening hazard, such as a fire.

Begin the Reporting Process

Once you are safe and emergency services are contacted, it is time to call the police and begin working with the other driver. The police will serve as witnesses and provide testimony to the accident, which can help you when dealing with your insurance company. During the reporting process, you will need to collect the following information from the drivers involved:

  • Name, address, phone number
  • License plate number
  • Driver License number
  • The Insurance Company, along with the policy number

Avoid discussing faults at the scene of the accident. Report the facts and let the insurance companies deal with the fault.

After you’ve gathered information, take some time to photograph the scene. All photographs may be of use in legal assistance. This includes:

  • All vehicles involved
  • Visible damage
  • Current weather and road conditions
  • Any injuries inflicted

Contact Insurance

After documentation and reporting are complete, you will need to call your insurance provider and report the accident. The insurance provider is there to protect you, so cooperate with them during their investigation. Failure to cooperate can result in claims being denied.

While cooperating with the insurance company, review your auto policy to see what is covered. If you need any assistance in understanding what is and isn’t covered, an accident law firm can be helpful.

You may face challenges during the investigation following a car accident. Challenges include unclear liability, denied insurance claims, or serious injuries. While your insurance aims to settle claims, it can result in you not getting the compensation or protection you deserve. Experienced auto accident law firms are the best solution to ensure you are protected.
