FUNNY CAR’S CRUZ PEDREGON TRENDING UPWARD HEADING TO MUCKLESHOOT CASINO RESORT NHRA NORTHWEST NATIONALS

SEATTLE (July 16, 2025) – Things are heading in the right direction for two-time Funny Car world champion Cruz Pedregon and he would like to keep it that way at this weekend’s 36th annual Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways.

The longtime standout appears to be over a rough patch that plagued most of his 2024 season in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, showing improvement and potential early this season. He added to it at the most recent event in Norwalk, picking up his first No. 1 qualifier in two years and advancing to the semifinals, the third time he’s done that this year. Pedregon also jumped three spots in the point standings, moving up to eighth in the loaded Funny Car category.

The key for Pedregon now is taking the next step – or two – and pick up his first victory since the 2022 finale. He’s trending in the right direction in his 12,000-horsepower Snap-on Dodge Hellcat and continued progress to kick off the second half of the 2025 season is the main goal this weekend in Seattle – along with putting on a stellar 330-mph show for the fans.

“Seattle couldn’t come at a better time,” Pedregon said. “Our Snap-on “Own It” Dodge Hellcat is starting to hit its stride. We’re making strong, consistent runs and building momentum. Coming off a top qualifying effort in Norwalk and a semifinal finish, we’re ready to take things even further.

“I can’t think of a better place to do that than Seattle. There’s a renewed energy around this event and they’ve scheduled a late Friday night qualifying session under the lights, which means cooler air, big header flames, and a show the fans won’t forget.”

Last year, Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Austin Prock (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Chase Van Sant (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all picked up victories in Seattle, while Justin Ashley, Prock, Aaron Stanfield and Gaige Herrera won the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge bonus race. It is the 11th of 20 races during the 2025 NHRA season and this weekend in Seattle is loaded with excitement.

Pedregon referenced Friday’s thrilling night session, which includes the Deecell Power Systems “After Dark Low Qualifier” and offers a special bonus for the quickest run in each class under the lights.

Pedregon has proven he’s once again capable of running with the Funny Car elite, a standout group that includes points leader Prock, who has four wins in 2025, Jack Beckman, Matt Hagan, Ron Capps, J.R. Todd and Daniel Wilkerson. But Pedregon has been quick and consistent at recent races, two absolute necessities in a class loaded with talent.

He’ll be part of a thrilling Saturday in Seattle, too, one that features three nitro qualifying sessions and the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge. The bonus race offers a chance for more success for Pedregon, who has always enjoyed racing at Pacific Raceways.

“We’d love to be one of the cars that sets the pace that night,” Pedregon said. “Seattle, really all of the West Coast races, feels like home to me. Being from Southern California, I always enjoy racing out here. The Pacific Northwest provides great atmospheric conditions for big performance, and the fans here are some of the best. We’re focused, confident, and ready to keep climbing.”

Racing legend Tony Stewart leads a talented Top Fuel field, one that also includes Kalitta Motorsports teammates Shawn Langdon and Doug Kalitta, Brittany Force, Justin Ashley, who has won back-to-back races, Clay Millican and reigning world champ Antron Brown.

The Pro Stock ranks has been dominated this season by the KB Titan Racing powerhouse, led by reigning champion Greg Anderson. He has four wins, while his teammate Dallas Glenn has three. Cory Reed earned his career first win in Norwalk. Others to watch include multi-time champs Erica Enders and Jeg Coughlin.

Pro Stock Motorcycle is again led by reigning champion Herrera, who has three wins in 2025. Six-time champ Matt Smith is second, while Herrera’s teammate Richard Gadson is third. Others to watch will be John Hall, who won for the first time in 12 years when he won in Norwalk, as well as Angie Smith, Jianna Evaristo and Van Sant.

The weekend kicks off with $15,000 Mission Foods Machine Tournament at Muckleshoot Casino Resort at 1 p.m. on Thursday, where fans can register for free.

The NHRA FanFest presented by Explore Auburn takes place from 5-7 p.m. PT on Thursday in front of Dave & Buster’s at The Outlet Collection (1101 Outlet Collection Dr. SW, Auburn, WA 98001), with autographs and a meet and greet with NHRA standouts taking place from 6-7 p.m.

Scheduled to appear is an impressive list of drivers in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, including Top Fuel stars Ida Zetterstrom and Jasmine Salinas, Funny Car standouts Chad Green, Hunter Green, Alexis DeJoria, Buddy Hull, rookie Dylan Winefsky, Pro Stock’s Cory Reed, Mason McGaha and Chris McGaha, as well as Pro Stock Motorcycle points leader Gaige Herrera, Richard Gadson, defending event winner Chase Van Sant and Chris Bostick.

On Saturday following qualifying, race fans can visit Muckleshoot Casino Resort for the official NHRA after-party with live music from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. PT.

Also on the track will be the standouts in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. All weekend, fans will be invited to the Nitro Alley Stage, which is the main entertainment hub in the pits. The stage hosts Nitro School, meet and greets, autograph sessions and more. Seattle race fans can enjoy the special pre-race ceremonies that introduce each driver and includes the fan favorite SealMaster Track Walk. Fans are also invited to congratulate the winners at the winner’s circle celebration on Sunday.

As always, fans get a pit pass to the most powerful and sensory-filled motorsports attraction on the planet. Fans can see their favorite teams in action and servicing their cars, get autographs and more. They can also visit NHRA’s Manufacturers Midway, where sponsors and vendors create an exciting atmosphere.

NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series qualifying will feature two rounds of qualifying on Friday, July 18 for the Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle classes at 6:40 and 8:15 p.m. PT, with Top Fuel and Funny Car taking to the track at 9:15 p.m. PT. On Saturday, July 19, nitro teams will qualify three times at 12:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle will qualify at 3:45 p.m. and 6:05. Race day will kick off with nitro eliminations on Sunday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m.

TEAM CHEVY NASCAR RACE ADVANCE: Dover Motor Speedway

TEAM CHEVY ADVANCE
Dover Motor Speedway
July 19-20, 2025

With a pair of road courses in the rearview mirror, the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series will return to a traditional oval – taking on the track deemed the “Monster Mile”.

Kicking off the sport’s annual visit to Dover Motor Speedway will be the Xfinity Series in Saturday’s BetRivers 200, where Chevrolet will contest to extend its monstrous season win streak to 12-straight in the division. On Sunday, NASCAR’s premier series will take its turn on the concrete oval in the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400. The 400-mile race will mark the penultimate race in NASCAR’s In-Season Challenge, where Kaulig Racing’s Ty Dillon will carry the banner for the Bowtie brigade into the Final Four.

Chevrolet at the “Monster Mile”

In over 55-years of playing host for NASCAR, Chevrolet has earned a combined 76 wins across the sport’s top-two divisions at Dover Motor Speedway including 43 Cup Series wins and 33 Xfinity Series wins – a record that leads its manufacturer competitors.

The Bowtie brand last visited victory lane at Dover Motor Speedway in the debut race for the Next Gen car (2022) – a win by Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott that led the manufacturer to a podium sweep with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (second) and Ross Chastain (third). In addition to leading the series in overall wins, Chevrolet also holds the record for consecutive wins in NASCAR’s top division at the track with six-straight (2013-2015). Also earning record-setting success at the “Monster Mile” is Hendrick Motorsports, who heads into the weekend with 22 all-time Cup Series wins at the track – a feat exactly double the next leading organization, Joe Gibbs Racing, with 11 wins. Four of the six active past Dover winners come from the Chevrolet camp including Kyle Busch, who is the series’ only active three-time winner at the Delaware venue.

TY DILLON REPRESENTS TEAM CHEVY IN FINAL FOUR

On a final lap pass at Sonoma Raceway, the Cinderella story continued for Team Chevy’s Ty Dillon – driving his No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet to yet another upset finish en route to a spot in the Final Four for NASCAR’s In-Season Challenge. The race to the one-million-dollar grand prize started at EchoPark Speedway, where Dillon picked up a season-best eighth-place finish. The 33-year-old Welcome, North Carolina, native has since driven his Kaulig Racing-prepared Chevrolet to a trio of top-20 finishes to keep their team in the fight – a journey that saw matchups with top seed driver, Denny Hamlin, and former Cup Series champion, Brad Keselowski. Next on deck, Dillon and the No. 10 team will face Toyota’s John H. Nemechek for a spot in the championship round.

EYEING DOUBLE-DIGITS

With yet another masterful performance making left- and right-hand turns, Trackhouse Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen took the checkered flag at Sonoma Raceway to become the NASCAR Cup Series’ fourth three-time winner this season. With now three-straight wins for the Bowtie brigade, the manufacturer will look to climb into a double-digit win count in Sunday’s 400-mile race at Dover Motor Speedway. Chevrolet’s series-leading nine trips to victory lane have come with five different drivers – giving the manufacturer the most early playoff berths heading into the final six races of the series’ regular season.

Busch Closing In

With a pair of top-10 finishes and stellar points days, Kyle Busch and the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet team has been the biggest mover up the playoff standings – gaining nine points to now sit just 37-points below the cutline heading into the Dover race weekend. The momentum comes in advance of a strong track for the 40-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada, native. Busch most recently drove his Richard Childress Racing-prepared Chevrolet to a fourth-place result at the “Monster Mile” – his 14th career top-five finish at the track to lead the series’ active drivers. The feat is among a handful of series-leading statistics for Busch at the Delaware venue, with the Team Chevy driver also pacing the field with three wins, four runner-up finishes, 22 top-10s and 1,375 laps led in 36 career starts.

JR MOTORSPORTS CLOSING IN ON A MILESTONE

It’s been a strong summer stretch for JR Motorsports, with the Chevrolet organization earning a trip to victory lane in five of the past six NASCAR Xfinity Series races. With its most recent win at Sonoma Raceway last weekend, the Chevrolet organization is closing in on milestone feat – heading to Dover Motor Speedway with 98 all-time Xfinity Series wins.

JR Motorsports made the leap into the Xfinity Series in 2005, with the organization’s first win coming at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March 2008 with Mark Martin behind the wheel. JR Motorsports reached its first landmark victory during the 2020 season at Richmond Raceway when veteran driver, Justin Allgaier, drove the organization’s No. 7 Chevrolet entry to its 50th all-time win in the series. A partner from its inception, JR Motorsports has helped power Chevrolet to its last two milestone victories in the series with Chase Elliott’s victory at Richmond in Sept. 2015 marking the Bowtie brand’s 400th all-time Xfinity Series win, and Josh Berry delivering the manufacturer its 500th all-time Xfinity Series win at Las Vegas in Oct. 2022.

Scott, Caruth Among Notable NXS Entries

A trio of Team Chevy drivers with Rev Racing roots will be reunited at Dover Motor Speedway this weekend. Joining Rev Racing alumni and now full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, Nick Sanchez, for Saturday’s 200-mile race will be Lavar Scott and Rajah Caruth.

Lavar Scott is set to make his Xfinity Series debut at the “Monster Mile” with Alpha Prime Racing. The 21-year-old New Jersey native is currently in his sixth season competing with Rev Racing. Last season, Scott took on the ARCA Menard Series full-time – closing out the campaign with the ‘Rookie of the Year’ honors. With his sophomore season well underway, the Team Chevy driver currently sits third in the points standings and just 17-points out of the lead.

Rajah Caruth will be making his return to the Xfinity Series for the first time since 2023 this weekend – piloting a third entry for Jordan Anderson Racing. Caruth made his series’ debut at Richmond Raceway in April 2022, with this weekend’s trip to Dover Motor Speedway marking his 20th career start in the division. The 23-year-old Georgia native signed with Rev Racing in 2019 – becoming the first NASCAR Drive for Diversity Development driver that began his racing career on iRacing. Caruth moved up into the NASCAR national ranks in 2022 to compete in his rookie campaign in the Truck Series. The accolades in his young Truck Series career includes two victories, as well as the title as the series’ Most Popular Driver (2024).

QUOTABLE QUOTES:

Austin Dillon, No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet

When you see Dover Motor Speedway coming up on the calendar as a driver, what are some things that come to mind that you know you have to concentrate on or be key on, that you may not have to worry about at other tracks on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule?

“Intensity is the first thing I think. You know, you’re going to have a wicked up pace at Dover Motor Speedway. It’s a fast, impressive place, and breathtaking when you go off in the corner.
It’s one of those places that it gets the heart pumping.”

You have three top-10s at Dover Motor Speedway. What’s it going to take to get a fourth, and why is this track so tough?

“It’s physically demanding. The car is getting beat up a lot. I feel like the way the track is, you’re going from these big elevation changes down into the corner and out of the corner. It puts a lot of G-force load on you. I think trying to find a car that works well while your tires are worn from the concrete is tough. There are a lot of challenges at Dover Motor Speedway, and it’s not the easiest place to pass once it gets rubbered up.”

For a new fan, how would you explain the difference between driving on concrete versus asphalt tracks?

“When the rubber starts to fill those crevices in the concrete, the best way I could explain it is your front tires feel very greasy, like they just kind of slide across the top of the track and you don’t really feel them ever take a good bite. You’re sliding up, and when it’s ready to go back left, you pick up the gas and try and get back going. On asphalt tracks, you always have that edge. You can feel the right front. At Dover Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway, you’re a little bit on top of the track as it rubbers up.”

Dover Motor Speedway is challenging because you go from 24 degrees of banking to nine degrees. Is this one of the tracks that you have to play that game the most of ‘loose is fast’?

“Our practice session on Saturday morning is important because as the track changes during the race, you need one balance at the beginning of practice that you probably aren’t going to have during the race. So you’re trying to set up for race pace, but you go really fast at the beginning when the track rubbers down, so the pace changes tremendously and you’ve got to have a good team behind you that can keep up with that. As a driver, I’ve got to know that it’s not going to drive perfect at all times. You look forward to when the rubber gets laid down because you’re going to have a better car at that point in the race.”

Kyle Larson, No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet

“Our (No.) 5 Team always seems to be fast at Dover; I like that it has multiple grooves, and you can move around to find speed. Our team could really use a good solid weekend to get back on track.”

Justin Haley, No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet

Coming off a strong performance in Sonoma, what are you looking forward to at Dover Motor Speedway?

“We had a great weekend in Sonoma and finished strong. That momentum will help us this weekend at Dover to get a strong qualifying draw. I feel like Dover hasn’t changed much over the years and there’s not a big resin build up on the track. I think it takes all weekend to get the rubber built up to make it racy. I feel like the Cup cars are super-fast there and it’s packed with fans. Dover is a fun track and I’ve always enjoyed the Monster Mile, so we’re hoping for a strong result this weekend.”

Chase Elliott, No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet

Elliott on approaching the final races of the regular season:

“We want more. We want more wins, more of all of it. We want it all. For us, it’s just about continuing to bring the pace that we’ve brought over the last month and a half or so. I’ve been really pleased with just where we’re at and the things we’re talking about and the things we’re working on and the things we’re doing – a lot of really good stuff right now.”

AJ Allmendinger, No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet

“Dover has always been a track I enjoy racing. The last couple years we have had really good speed and that’s made it even more fun driving the Next Gen car around Dover. We have the opportunity to have a solid weekend and get back on track after Sonoma.”

William Byron, No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet

“I’m excited to get back to a more ‘normal’ oval this weekend. It’s been awhile but we’re strong at these types of tracks coming up. Last week was solid and we needed that but now this is almost like a reset button to get back to what we do best. We’ve always been strong at Dover (Motor Speedway) just haven’t been able to close the deal. I’m confident we will have speed off the truck, just looking to execute and hopefully close the deal finally.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., No. 47 Hyak Motorsports Chevrolet

“Dover has always been a really good track for us, and I’m focused on getting back to finishing these races strong.”

Alex Bowman, No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet

Bowman on leaving road courses for Dover Motor Speedway:

“Honestly, I like road courses, but I am happy about returning to an oval. Dover has always been a place that fits my driving style. It’s fast, it’s technical, and it demands a lot from both the driver and the car. The transitions off the corners are intense, and the concrete surface makes it unlike anywhere else we go. That 2021 win is still one of my favorite moments with this team.”

Michael McDowell, No. 71 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet

What are your thoughts heading back to a track where you have back-to-back top-10’s and how do you feel about NASCAR’s attempt at street racing?

“I wish I knew how to figure it out. Dover has been one of those tracks that is just so tough for me. I think Dover is fun because of the commitment, the speed and the way that you drop into the hole. It is just a cool experience. The track will still take your breath away. It’s nerve-wracking when you unload and qualify. I enjoy the challenge, I just haven’t run well there. Last year was the first year where we were putting together a really solid race and we finished top-10 in the First Stage but I had a penalty on pit road, and then the right-front hub broke. It felt like that was the first time we could contend for a top-10 or a top-five finish there. So, I am going to build off that and focus on last year and not the 14 years before that, because it has been a tough place for me. That being said, I enjoy that. I enjoy the places where we struggle. I enjoy the struggle. I enjoy when it sucks, because I am determined for that to not be the case and I want to fix it. I want to focus on fixing it and I am determined to fix it. So, for me it is one of those places where the challenge creates some sort of opportunity, and last year we were 60 percent of the way to fixing it. Hopefully ,this year we can fix it all the way and have a good run.”

Carson Hocevar, No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet

What is it like to race at Dover?

“If we didn’t have Bristol on the schedule, I think Dover would be a very eye-opening experience. It reminds me a lot of Bristol with the concrete surface and banking, but at Dover you’re carrying a lot more speed. The lap time isn’t as fast and it feels slower than it really is, but it’s definitely a handful. Dover is its own challenge, just because you have to figure out how to get your car to a place where you’re comfortable carrying so much speed through those really high-banked corners. There are definitely moments where your mind is probably saying there’s no way we can run almost wide open here in qualifying, but we do it every time. It’s a tough track mentally and physically.”

Connor Zilisch, No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet

“Dover is high banked, high grip, concrete racetrack. A lot of rubber gets put down and the track changes a lot throughout a run, and you have to keep up with how it changes throughout the race. We were fast at Bristol and finished second at Nashville, the other concrete tracks we go to, so I’m optimistic about this weekend. I won the ARCA race at Dover last year and I really enjoy that racetrack. We’ve been fighting for wins on these tracks so hopefully we can have a solid day and be there when it counts at the end. I’m excited to keep the momentum up that we’ve had the last couple of months with our Carolina Carports team.”

Zane Smith Notes

Zane Smith heads to Dover, Delaware this weekend to take on the Dover Motor Speedway. While Smith only has one NASCAR Cup Series start at the one-mile concrete oval, he does have one win at the track in the Truck Series, taking the checkered flag in 2020.

The No. 38 Ford Mustang Dark Horse will carry the Horizon Hobby colors this weekend in the RC brands’ second primary race of the season. Smith, an avid RC enthusiast himself, is hoping to repeat the same success he and Horizon Hobby achieved during Smith’s 2022 NCTS Series Championship campaign where the Huntington Beach, California native earned 14 top five’s,19 top 10’s, and four wins.

Horizon Hobby and its Losi brand has strategically built a footprint in NASCAR for RC enthusiasts and racing fans alike, becoming the officially licensed maker of NASCAR RC cars. In 2024, Horizon Hobby debuted six NASCAR Cup Series schemes, including the No. 34 Horizon Hobby Ford Mustang Dark Horse. All current offerings can be found at your local RC dealer or online at www.horizonhobby.com/nascar/.

“Dover is such a cool track — you feel like you’re flying out there,” said Smith. “Our team is heading into the weekend with a lot of confidence, especially since I’ve been to Victory Lane here before in the Truck Series. We may be sitting 25th in points, but we’ve got the speed to close that gap and make a push toward the top-20. I’m also really excited to have Horizon Hobby and Losi back on board. Ryan (Bergenty) and I are always racing their RC cars around the shop, so it’d be awesome to get them a win this weekend.”

This weekend at Dover Motor Speedway, Dillon will go head-to-head with John Hunter Nemechek in the In-Season Challenge for the chance to race for $1 million in the Championship Round at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“Dover is a track where I have had some highs and lows. In my rookie season with Germain Racing, we were leading inside 40 to go and were probably going to end up third or fourth, and the caution came out. Someone blew up off turn four and we had a big crash on a green-white-checkered while running fourth. I’ve always felt like opportunity given at the right time; we can really capitalize there. I’ve also had some really rough days and some decent days, so all over the map at Dover.

Qualifying is important at Dover with a pit road that is difficult. It’s hard to pass, so the opportunities are hit or miss. The track can change so much based on the conditions and that makes it important for is to unload with speed at the start of the weekend and try to not put ourselves behind early.” – Ty Dillon on Dover Motor Speedway

QUOTABLE /

Kyle Larson, driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet, on returning to Dovor Motor Speedway: “Our (No.) 5 Team always seems to be fast at Dover; I like that it has multiple grooves, and you can move around to find speed. Our team could really use a good solid weekend to get back on track.”

Chase Elliott, driver of the No. 9 Chevrolet, on approaching the final races of the regular season: “We want more.

William Byron, driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet, on Dover Motor Speedway: “I’m excited to get back to a more ‘normal’ oval this weekend.

Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet, on leaving road courses for Dover Motor Speedway: “Honestly, I like road courses, but I am happy about returning to an oval. Dover has always been a place that fits my driving style. It’s fast, it’s technical, and it demands a lot from both the driver and the car. The transitions off the corners are intense, and the concrete surface makes it unlike anywhere else we go. That 2021 win is still one of my favorite moments with this team.”

High-Risk Car Accidents: A Driver’s Guide to Staying Safe

Not all car accidents are equal. Some types are far more dangerous and likely to result in severe injuries or fatalities. By understanding the most dangerous types of car accidents and why they occur, drivers can take steps to avoid them or protect themselves.

This expert safety guide will break down these crash types and provide tips on how to stay safe. Knowledge is power, and if you know which situations are most perilous, you can be extra cautious and reduce your risk on the road.

1. Head-On Collisions – The Deadliest Impact

Why They’re Dangerous: In a head-on collision, two vehicles crash front-to-front. The impact forces are enormous because they’re effectively the sum of both vehicles’ speeds. They are relatively rare, but when they happen, the injuries are often catastrophic.

Common Causes: Frequently occur on two-lane undivided roads, often due to one driver crossing the center line. This can be from falling asleep, distraction, intoxication, or trying to overtake and misjudging distance.

Safety Tips:

  • Stay Alert in Opposite Traffic Areas
  • Avoid Driving Left of Center
  • Night and Drowsy Caution

2. T-Bone (Side-Impact) Collisions – Danger at Intersections

What They Are: A T-bone collision is when the front of one vehicle crashes into the side of another, forming a “T” shape at impact. These typically occur in intersections, e.g., one car runs a red light or stop sign and hits the side of a car that had the right-of-way.

Common Causes: Running red lights or stop signs, failing to yield when turning, or misjudging gaps in oncoming traffic. Distracted or impatient driving in intersections is a big factor.

Safety Tips:

  • Defensive Driving at Intersections
  • Stale Green Caution
  • Do Not Speed Through

3. Rollover Accidents – Especially Risky for SUVs and Trucks

What and Why: A rollover is when a vehicle tips onto its side or roof. Rollovers can be tripped by hitting something or by extreme maneuvers. While only a small percentage of crashes are rollovers, they account for a high proportion of fatalities.

Who’s at Risk: Taller, narrower vehicles have a higher center of gravity, so they are more prone to roll over compared to low sedans. That said, any vehicle can roll given enough force.

Common Scenarios:

  • High-Speed Sudden Swerves: Avoiding an animal or another car on the highway, then overcorrecting, can lead to a rollover, especially if the tire digs in or you hit the median.
  • Going Too Fast on Curves/Exit Ramps: There’s a reason those yellow advisory speeds on ramps exist. Exceeding them can cause an SUV to lose balance.
  • Tripping Mechanism: If a vehicle slides sideways and the tires hit a curb or dig into soft ground, it can flip. Also, being hit in the side can flip a car, or clipping a guardrail might cause a roll.

Safety Tips:

  • Wear Seatbelts, Always
  • Drive Smoothly, Don’t Overcorrect
  • Mind Your Speed

4. Multi-Car Pileups – Chain Reaction on Highways

Why They’re Dangerous: A multi-vehicle pileup is a series of collisions, often on a highway, involving many vehicles. Think of those fog-related 50-car pileups you see on the news. They’re dangerous because impacts come from all sides unpredictably. Even if you avoid hitting the car in front, someone might slam into you from behind and push you into others.

Common Causes: Typically, low visibility or slick roads cause the initial crash, after which subsequent drivers struggle to stop in time and continue to collide. Sometimes it starts with a smaller crash or sudden stop, and high speeds + following too close cause a domino effect.

Safety Tips:

  • Drive According to Conditions
  • Stay Off Roads in Extreme Conditions
  • If You’re in a Pileup or See One Forming

5. Rear-End Collisions – Common but Can Be Dangerous

Why Included: Rear-enders are the most frequent type of crash. Many are minor “fender-benders” at low speeds, resulting in whiplash injuries. However, rear-end collisions at higher speeds or with significant size differences can be extremely dangerous or fatal.

Common Causes: Following too closely and driver inattention. Additionally, abrupt stops – sometimes necessary if the car ahead encounters an obstacle. Tailgating is a significant cause. Additionally, reduced traction increases the chance of not stopping in time. Many rear-end collisions occur at traffic lights, stop signs, or in highway congestion.

Safety Tips:

  • Maintain a Safe Following Distance
  • Stay Attentive
  • Smooth Braking

Final Thoughts

While we cannot control everything, we can control our driving habits and preparedness. By understanding which accident types are most dangerous, you now know when to be extra cautious: at intersections, on two-lanes with oncoming traffic, on curves, in bad weather, and whenever something unexpected happens ahead.

Driving is something many of us do daily, and it’s easy to get complacent. However, maintain respect for the risks and a safety mindset. The reward is arriving alive and well every time. Stay safe out there! By following the expert tips in this guide, you’ll greatly improve your odds of avoiding these most dangerous accidents – and that’s a life-saving difference.

Dental CAD/CAM Designer: The Digital Architect of Modern Dentistry

What Is a Dental CAD/CAM Designer?

In the digital age of dentistry, the role of a Dental CAD CAM designer has become indispensable. These professionals are responsible for designing precise, functional, and aesthetic dental restorations using advanced computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) technologies. From crowns and bridges to full-arch prosthetics and implant bars, a dental CAD/CAM designer creates the virtual foundation for every successful restoration.

Gone are the days of relying solely on manual impressions and physical models. With digital workflows now dominating the dental industry, CAD/CAM designers are helping practices increase efficiency, accuracy, and patient satisfaction.

The Workflow of a Dental CAD/CAM Designer

The process begins with the digital impression—captured through intraoral scanning or 3D imaging devices. These scans are converted into digital files that dental CAD/CAM designers import into specialized design software such as Exocad, 3Shape, or Dental Wings.

Using these platforms, the designer meticulously sculpts a restoration that accounts for bite alignment, contact points, gum margins, and overall aesthetics. They work closely with dentists and lab technicians to ensure each design meets the specific clinical requirements of the patient. Once the design is approved, it’s sent to a milling machine or 3D printer to create the final physical restoration.

This workflow allows for reduced turnaround time, fewer remakes, and a more consistent quality of care—all made possible by the skill and precision of the CAD/CAM designer.

Why Dental CAD/CAM Designers Matter

While they may not be visible to the patient, CAD/CAM designers are vital members of the dental team. Their ability to interpret clinical prescriptions and translate them into exact 3D models ensures that restorations function perfectly and look natural. Poor design can lead to discomfort, bite issues, or aesthetic dissatisfaction. In contrast, a well-designed restoration feels seamless and enhances the patient’s quality of life.

For patients considering aesthetic dental work, starting with a consultation with a skilled cosmetic dentist is a smart move. These professionals evaluate facial features, smile proportions, and personal goals, then collaborate with digital CAD/CAM designers to craft treatment plans. Whether you’re looking at veneers, crowns, or a full-mouth rehabilitation, the combined expertise of a cosmetic dentist and advanced digital design helps ensure that the final results look natural, functional, and well-balanced. Practices led by the New York best dentist exemplify how integrating artistic vision with digital precision can elevate outcomes, ensuring each restoration complements the patient’s unique appearance.

Services like Dental Designers have emerged to meet this growing need for specialized digital design. As a trusted partner to dentists and labs, Dental Designers provides remote access to highly skilled CAD/CAM professionals who can quickly deliver precise digital designs for any case. Whether for a single unit or a complex multi-unit restoration, Dental Designers ensures accuracy, speed, and customization.

By outsourcing to Dental Designers, clinics and labs can scale their operations without compromising quality—allowing dental professionals to focus on patient care while expert designers handle the technical precision behind the scenes.

Key Benefits of Professional CAD/CAM Design Services

  • Accuracy: CAD/CAM software allows for precise measurements and better-fitting restorations.
  • Efficiency: Digital workflows reduce lab time and eliminate manual steps.
  • Consistency: Every design adheres to high standards, minimizing variability between cases.
  • Customization: Designers can tailor restorations to each patient’s unique anatomy and bite.
  • Scalability: Outsourcing to services like Dental Designers supports high case volumes without overburdening staff.

In addition, CAD/CAM designs are fully compatible with modern dental manufacturing equipment, ensuring seamless integration from design to production.

Conclusion

The dental CAD/CAM designer plays a crucial role in delivering modern, high-quality restorations. As dentistry becomes increasingly digital, their expertise in both technology and dental anatomy ensures that every crown, bridge, or implant is crafted to perfection.

Partnering with services like Dental Designers enables clinics and labs to stay competitive in a fast-moving industry. By combining speed, precision, and artistry, CAD/CAM designers are shaping the smiles of the future—one digital file at a time.

BRISTOL 101: ULTIMATE GUIDE TO AN UNFORGETTABLE FIRST NASCAR EXPERIENCE AT BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY

It's always fun to cheer on your favorite driver and team during the crown jewel Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Cup Series Playoff visit to Bristol Motor Speedway, Sept. 13, is a Round of 16 elimination race, where the field will be cut from 16 to 12.

BRISTOL, Tenn. (July 16, 2025) – There’s a reason they call it “The Last Great Colosseum.” From the moment you approach Bristol Motor Speedway, you can feel the energy building. The thunderous roar of engines, the palpable excitement of the crowd, and the electrifying atmosphere that pulses through the rolling Tennessee hills—Bristol is truly in a league of its own.

If you’re a first-timer gearing up for a NASCAR weekend at this iconic track, like the upcoming Bass Pro Shops Night Race, Sept. 11-13, this comprehensive guide is for you. It will ensure your debut is nothing short of legendary.

What to Wear: Comfort, Spirit, and Practicality

Your wardrobe choices at Bristol are a blend of personal comfort, fan spirit, and practical preparedness. This is a high-energy environment with an incredibly passionate fanbase, so don’t hold back on showing your allegiance! Below are some tips to make sure you have both style and maneuverability covered.

Team Gear, All the Way: Whether you’re proudly sporting a driver’s jersey, a comfortable team t-shirt, or a classic NASCAR hat, displaying your support is an integral part of the Bristol experience. The crowd’s enthusiasm is contagious, and joining in with your favorite colors only amplifies the fun.

Layer Up for Mountain Evenings: Even if the daytime temperatures are balmy, evenings in the mountains can cool down surprisingly quickly, especially during the thrilling night races. A light hoodie, a versatile jacket, or a comfortable fleece is a smart addition to your bag, allowing you to adapt to temperature changes and stay comfortable throughout the event.

Sturdy Shoes are Non-Negotiable: You’ll be doing a lot of walking, from expansive parking lots to bustling campgrounds and in the grandstands. While BMS provides a lot of courtesy golf carts and van shuttles for fans throughout the property and elevators in most sections of the grandstands, you will still need to be prepared for some walking. Prioritize comfort and stability by opting for broken-in sneakers, supportive athletic shoes, or durable boots. Leave the flip-flops and open-toed sandals at home; your feet will thank you.

Essential Ear Protection: Let’s be clear: Bristol Motor Speedway is LOUD. The raw power of NASCAR engines echoing within the concrete Colosseum creates an exhilarating, but intense, sound experience. Invest in a good pair of earplugs or noise-reducing headphones, especially if you’re attending with children. Protecting your hearing is crucial for enjoying the race without discomfort.

Sun Protection is Key: Day races, tailgating sessions, and general outdoor enjoyment mean significant sun exposure. Don’t forget high-SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. A wide-brimmed hat (in addition to your team cap) and quality sunglasses will also shield your face and eyes, ensuring you stay comfortable and focused on the action.

What to Bring: Pack Like a Pro

The right gear can elevate your race day from good to absolutely fantastic. Thoughtful packing ensures you’re prepared for anything the Bristol experience throws your way.

First things first: OK, don’t get in such a rush leaving your house that you forget your tickets or parking pass, especially if they are printed on paper. If you have them in your phone digitally, don’t forget your phone! And also, make sure to remember what time the race starts. Trust us, you don’t want to be late!!

The Clear Bag Policy: Bristol Motor Speedway, like many major sports and entertainment venues, enforces a clear bag policy for security purposes. To ensure a smooth entry at the gate, bring a clear backpack or tote bag that adheres to the size restrictions (typically up to 12″x6″x12″). This keeps security checks quick and hassle-free.

Seat Cushion or Stadium Seat: Your Back’s Best Friend: OK, let’s be honest. The excitement is so incredible that you may be doing more standing than sitting in your reserved seat in the grandstands. The metal bleachers at Bristol, while providing incredible views, may become a bit uncomfortable to some during long races. We would recommend that you bring a portable seat cushion or a small stadium seat with a backrest to the race. Either will make a world of difference in your comfort levels while seated, allowing you to fully enjoy every lap.

Scanner or Race App for Real-Time Updates: If you want the fully immersive fan experience, a race scanner allows you to tune into driver-to-crew communications, offering valuable insights into race strategy, tire management, and on-track incidents. Alternatively, downloading the official NASCAR and BMS apps on your smartphone provides real-time race stats, driver updates, and live leaderboards.

Cooling Towel or Mist Fan for Summer Races: If you’re attending a summer race, the heat can be intense. A cooling towel, dampened and draped around your neck, or a small, battery-operated mist fan can provide much-needed relief and help you stay comfortable in the stands.

Snacks & Sealed Water Bottles: Stay Hydrated and Fueled: You are permitted to bring in your own food and unopened, non-alcoholic beverages in a soft-sided cooler (typically no larger than 14″x14″x14″). This is a fantastic way to save money and ensure you have your preferred snacks and drinks. Staying hydrated is paramount, so pack plenty of sealed water bottles.

What to Know: Navigate Bristol Like a Veteran

A little pre-race knowledge goes a long way in making your first Bristol experience seamless and enjoyable.

Arrive Early, Always: This cannot be stressed enough. Traffic leading into Bristol Motor Speedway, especially for the crown jewel Bass Pro Shops Night Race, can back up significantly. Plan to arrive several hours before the green flag drops. This gives you ample time to navigate parking, explore the bustling midway with its vendors and fan zone experiences, and simply soak in the electrifying atmosphere before the main event.

Plan Your Parking Strategy: If you haven’t pre-purchased a parking pass (which is highly recommended for convenience), consult the official Bristol Motor Speedway map online for available lots and shuttle information. Be prepared for a potentially longer walk if you opt for free parking options, which are often located further away from the track.

Souvenir Playbill Program: Bristol offers a limited number of free printed Playbill style souvenir programs. You can keep up with the entry lists and find out more information about what’s going on during the weekend. Don’t worry, if you can’t find a printed version, the program is also available digitally. Ask any customer service location, or check the BMS website to find the link to download or view the digital program.

Colossus TV: No, that’s not a space ship hanging in the middle of the track. It’s a massive center-hung television big screen that will assist in your enjoyment of the race. No matter where you are seated in the venue, Colossus TV will be there to give you a quick replay or a better of view of the action down in turn four.

Download the Essential Apps: Before you even leave home, download the official NASCAR app and the Bristol Motor Speedway app. These invaluable tools provide up-to-the-minute schedules, detailed maps of the facility, live driver updates, and general information that will enhance your visit.

Check out the Fan Zone: Located at Entrance 1, the BMS Fan Zone is filled with plenty of fun experiences, many of them interactive. You can throw axes, play cornhole, drive a NASCAR simulator, and enjoy interviews from drivers and other newsmakers and take in some great music from the Food City Fan Zone Stage.

Embrace the Bristol Tradition: Bristol fans are legendary for their passion, friendliness, and unwavering loyalty. Don’t be shy! Join in the traditional chants, strike up conversations with your neighbors in the stands or campgrounds, and don’t hesitate to ask questions if you’re unsure about anything. The Bristol community is welcoming and eager to share their love for the sport.

Tailgating is a Way of Life: The pre-race party in the parking lots and campgrounds is as much a part of the Bristol experience as the race itself. Whether you’re setting up a full-blown RV campsite with elaborate grills or simply enjoying some car-side refreshments, the tailgating scene is vibrant and adds another layer of fun to your race weekend.

It’s an Unforgettable Sensory Experience: Your first Bristol race will be a sensory overload in the best possible way: loud, wild, and truly unforgettable. With a bit of strategic planning and the right gear in tow, you’ll quickly feel like a seasoned fan.

So, grab your cooler, throw on your favorite driver’s gear, and get ready for one of the greatest, most thrilling shows in motorsports. Bristol awaits!

To purchase tickets for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, the Food City 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race, the UNOH 200 presented by Ohio Logistics Craftsman Truck Series race or the Bush’s Beans 200 ARCA Menards Series race, please visit the BMS website, or call the BMS Ticket Sales Center at (866) 415-4158.
