  • Hendrick Motorsports is the all-time leader in wins (10), top-five finishes (35) and laps led (2,425) at Las Vegas.

QUOTABLE /

Kyle Larson, driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet, on success at Las Vegas Motor Speedway: “Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) has been a great track for us since I joined the No. 5 HENDRICKCARS.COM team. We got our first win here together and we have added a couple more since then. I think we have a couple runner-up finishes, also. The track is great but also getting to come to a cool city is fun, as well. This is probably in my top-three places to come to.”

Chase Elliott, driver of the No. 9 Chevrolet, on racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend: “I’m looking forward to heading to Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) this weekend. I felt like, as a team, we made a lot of headway on our mile-and-a-half program last year. And really, last fall, I felt like that was the best we had been at Vegas in this new car.”

William Byron, driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet, on the season thus far: “I know I keep saying it, but the No. 24 team is executing at a really high level right now. That makes me confident every time I get in the car. We’re heading to a track where we have a good notebook and have success at so that makes me extra excited to get there and see what we can do.”

Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet, on Las Vegas Motor Speedway: “I’m confident heading into Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) this weekend. I would say it’s one of my better tracks. Obviously, winning there back in 2022, but I feel like I’ve been successful there even prior to the Next Gen era. Last year in the fall, we had a strong qualifying and race effort, qualified third and finished fifth. We were able to run up front majority of the race. (Crew chief) Blake (Harris) made some strategic fuel strategy calls and we were there at the end to finish fifth. Hopefully we can bring it home and get that win that Blake and I were so close to getting back in 2023.”

  • August 2, MLB Speedway Classic inside the BMS oval featuring the Atlanta Braves vs. the Cincinnati Reds
  • September 11-13, the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, Food City 300, UNOH 200 presented by Ohio Logistics and Bush’s Beans 200 ARCA Menards Series race

Caldwell, who led the effort in 2016 for the NCAA record-setting 156,990-attended Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol between the Tennessee Volunteers and Virginia Tech Hokies, is just as pumped to show off BMS’ versatility this year by adding a historic Major League Baseball game into the mix with some thrilling racing from NASCAR, NHRA and others.

“At Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway 2025 is a Big League Year and we can’t wait for all the action to get underway,” said Caldwell. “We are thrilled to have NASCAR return to Bristol in April for our throwback to the 1990s race, the tradition-rich Food City 500, and also in September for the crown jewel Bass Pro Shops Night Race. In June, we can’t wait to have the 330-mph dragsters back for the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway. And since we are well-known as the Home to Big Events, we thought it would be cool to welcome Major League Baseball to the Last Great Colosseum for the first time this August as the Braves and Reds will play the first official MLB game in the state of Tennessee. And we also have Monster Trucks, the PDRA Thunder Valley Throwdown and so much more. It’s definitely a big, big year for us at Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway.”

Reds Hall of Fame member Graves was awestruck at the concept of playing a baseball game inside a race track. It was his first visit to BMS and he said he can’t wait to watch the baseball game here and the racing.

“Just to see a baseball field on this track is crazy because the baseball field looks so tiny and this isn’t even a big track,” said Graves, the all-time Saves leader for the Reds. “Could you imagine at a superspeedway how tiny the field would look? This is awesome that this is happening. I kind of wish it happened when we were playing. We didn’t get any of that cool stuff.”

Braves Hall of Famer Hudson, a four-time All-Star and a 2014 World Series champ during his time with the San Francisco Giants, was also ready to suit up for a game in the infield after seeing the stadium plans.

“It’s really awesome,” Hudson said. “The renderings that we had seen, it looks really beautiful. I think it’s going to be something that’s really impressive. We saw the layout and where they had home plate (positioned) and the bases. I think it’s going to be awesome.”

Both players feel like the fans are in for a treat.

“I think that game is going to be phenomenal, you are going to have 80,000 people or maybe even a 100,000, I don’t know how many,” said Graves who now serves as a baseball analyst for a variety of networks including MLB Network Radio and ESPN Radio. “I don’t think any baseball players have played in front of that many people.”

The NASCAR drivers gave both Hudson and Graves some hot laps around the track and the baseball legends are also going to be watching them race here later in the year.

The drivers are well-aware of the power that is Bristol Motor Speedway for creating iconic moments and thrilling finishes. Like NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace used to say, “When they turn on the lights at that joint, all hell breaks loose.”

“Bristol is just an electric atmosphere,” said Hemric, driver of the No. 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Chevy Silverado in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Interestingly, Hemric, the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion, is also a former $100,000 Xfinity Series Dash for Cash winner at Bristol. This year he will try to score some additional bonus bucks in the NASCAR Triple Truck Challenge on the all-concrete high banks.

“Everything that goes on here is electric,” Hemric continued. “Just like the Speedway Classic that is going to be played here in (five) months, as well as an NHRA drag race and everything else that goes on here. It’s so cool to just be a part of it. And having been a part of it for as many years as I have now is just so much fun.”

The veteran racer of the group attending the media day, Brad Keselowski, has won at BMS in all three of NASCAR’s top categories and has three Cup wins at the track as well, his most recent coming in the 2020 Food City Supermarket Heroes 500. His teammate, Chris Buescher, won the Night Race here in 2022 and Keselowski had a strong run here last March and finished in the top five.

“Bristol has been a good track for me, we had a number of good runs here,” said Keselowski, who drives the No. 6 BuildSubmarines.com Ford for RFK Racing. “The good runs are always overshadowed by the bad runs. We ran so well here in the (2024) spring race, and then came here in the fall race and had a poor showing. That’s what is really frustrating for us. But I’m encouraged that we will be able to come here and have two great runs this year.”

One of the current frontrunners in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, a Georgia native and die-hard Braves fan, Austin Hill would like to get a bucket-list victory at Bristol during his two attempts this season, the SciAps 300 on April 12 and the Food City 300 on September 12. In April, he could also be gunning for the Xfinity Dash for Cash bonus.

“We’ve had some success here at Bristol, but never won here,” said Hill, who also ran in the Craftsman Truck Series here prior to his current gig of driving the No. 21 Chevy for Richard Childress Racing. “I’m hoping to change that this year. Bristol is just one of those places that the line where your car’s working changes throughout the race. Maybe you’re at the bottom to start the race, and then you kind of work your way up, and you get running the fence there towards the end of the race.”

Hill, who recently opened his season with a victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway, says he prefers running the wall at Bristol, which he says comes later in the race once the grooves all open up on the tricky, high-banked short track.

“I have found some success here running the wall, and I’ve never been one that’s great at running the wall,” Hill said. “I had a shot at winning here in 2022, ended up having some damage late in the race, and we ended up with a third-place finish. I’m not going to say that this track owes me one or anything like that. We haven’t been close enough to win, but we’ve had some success here.”

And across the way from the World’s Fastest Half-Mile, sits Drag City U.S.A., or better-known as Bristol Dragway, where another featured guest of the day in the season preview, Austin Prock, had an amazing 2024 during the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. He pushed his Cornwell Tools Chevy owned by NHRA icon John Force to the win and it launched a victory parade across the U.S. for the third-generation racer and former USAC champ.

Prock, who won eight times and set a national speed record at 341 mph last year en route to his Funny Car world championship title, is looking forward to getting back to Bristol Dragway in June and getting his Funny Car season moving again like the locomotive he rode last year.

With every ticket being a pit pass and some of the amazing speeds that is produced during the weekend at Bristol, Prock says it is a race that is always circled brightly on his calendar.

“If you’re a race car driver, you sure do enjoy a place like this,” Prock said. “There is a little lifting going on about the 330-feet mark. My experience racing sprint cars, especially on dirt, comes into play, but you have to make such split-second decisions with these cars.”

Wright Motorsports Aims for Victory at Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring

SEBRING, Fla., (March 12, 2025) – The legendary Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring race week has arrived, and Wright Motorsports is ready to take on the challenge at Sebring International Raceway. Piloting the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R, drivers Adam Adelson, Elliott Skeer, and Tom Sargent enter the second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship sitting second in the points standings.

The trio put on an impressive performance in January’s Rolex 24 At Daytona, earning pole position and battling fiercely for 24 hours to secure a podium finish. Now, they carry that momentum to Sebring, where Adelson, Skeer, and Jan Heylen finished third in last year’s event. Remarkably, that race marked just the second-ever IMSA WeatherTech start for Adelson and Skeer, underscoring their natural talent and rapid adaptability on one of the most physically demanding road courses in North America.

The track is famously bumpy due to the unique surface, which is a mix of concrete and asphalt. Originally a World War II-era airfield, much of the circuit still consists of the original concrete that was used for aircraft runways, creating the notorious bumps that make Sebring so physically and mechanically demanding. Unlike modern tracks that are resurfaced regularly, Sebring embraces its rough character, making it a true test of endurance for both cars and drivers. The uneven surface challenges suspension setups, tire wear, and driver stamina, especially during events like the 12 Hours of Sebring, one of the most grueling races in the world.

With over six weeks since the season opener, the full 56-car IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship field is eager to return to competition. The endurance event will feature all four classes, blending high-performance prototype race cars with production-based GT machinery. Unlike the cool and rainy conditions at Daytona, this weekend’s forecast promises warm and sunny skies, with race-day temperatures climbing into the high 80s.

The 73rd Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring kicks off Saturday at 10:10 AM ET, airing live domestically on Peacock and streaming internationally via IMSA’s YouTube page. For event details, visit IMSA.com.

DRIVER QUOTES

Adam Adelson

After a super bittersweet Daytona, I really couldn’t be more excited for Sebring. Coming into Weathertech Sportscar Championship for our second season, we knew a lot more about what to expect, but also there were some unknowns with our new endurance teammate Tom and how he would acclimate to driving in this series. Daytona proved that he not only acclimated, but he acclimated extremely well, and our result at Daytona proves that. Going into Sebring, I have full confidence that we should be fighting for a win, and that’s our goal. We had great success there last year, and with the additional talent and experience that we have on our team, our chances to get on the top step of the podium are even better. Aside from that, Sebring is one of my favorite tracks, and the Sebring 12 Hour is one of the most legendary endurance races in the world, and it’s an honor to be able to participate in it again.

Elliott Skeer

Sebring is without a doubt my favorite race, there is an old-school energy that I just love. Going into it this year with not only a podium here in 2024 but coming off a podium at Daytona in January has all of us at Wright hungry for more and aiming to make this the benchmark. Adam, Tom, and I feel good about our recent test there and believe that a well-executed race can be done. I can’t wait to see what this 12 Hour has to offer.

Tom Sargent

I am super excited to be returning to a well-known track for me. Sebring is the track I have done the most laps at in my brief time in North America. The Twelve Hours of Sebring is an event I have wanted to tick off for a while now, so to able to do that very soon, is such an achievement for me. With Wright Motorsports strong performance at this event last year, and the momentum we are carrying forward from a successful Rolex 24 At Daytona, I believe it puts us in a strong position for a win.

The Science Behind Car Racing in Australia

Photo by Mason Jones on Unsplash

A Comprehensive Look at Car Racing in Australia: Vehicle Preparation Before and After the Race

Australia is home to some of the world’s most exhilarating car races, drawing motorsport enthusiasts from around the globe. From the legendary Bathurst 1000 to the adrenaline-pumping Adelaide 500 and the renowned Melbourne Grand Prix, Australia offers a variety of thrilling racing events. However, behind the high-speed action and roaring engines lies a meticulous process of vehicle preparation, ensuring that race cars perform at their peak before hitting the track and recover effectively after crossing the finish line.

Pre-Race Preparation: Getting the Car Race-Ready

Extensive preparation is required before any car can compete in a high-intensity race. This phase is crucial as it directly impacts the vehicle’s performance, durability, and safety.

Engine Optimization and Performance Tuning

The engine is the heart of any race car, and ensuring it is in top condition is paramount. Teams conduct comprehensive diagnostics, tune the fuel injection system, optimize air intake, and refine turbocharger settings. Dyno testing frequently measures horsepower and torque, helping mechanics tweak performance aspects for optimal speed and reliability.

Suspension and Aerodynamics Adjustments

A finely tuned suspension system ensures the car remains stable at high speeds while navigating sharp turns. Engineers analyze downforce levels and adjust wings, diffusers, and splitters to enhance aerodynamics, reducing drag and maximizing control over the vehicle.

Tire Selection and Braking System Maintenance

Tires are a decisive factor in a race, affecting grip, handling, and overall speed. Teams select the most suitable tires based on track conditions and weather forecasts. The braking system, including rotors and calipers, is inspected and upgraded if necessary to withstand the immense heat and friction generated during high-speed maneuvers.

Safety and Security Checks

Racing regulations mandate rigorous safety inspections. Roll cages, seat harnesses, and fire suppression systems must be tested for compliance. Additionally, ensuring the vehicle’s locking system functions efficiently is essential, as a malfunctioning lock or key system could pose security risks, especially in professional race environments.

During the Race: Monitoring and Real-Time Adjustments

Once the race begins, teams continuously monitor the car’s performance through telemetry data, making real-time adjustments. Pit stops are crucial in changing tires, refueling, and making minor mechanical fixes to keep the vehicle in the best possible condition throughout the race.

Post-Race Maintenance: Ensuring Longevity and Performance

After the checkered flag drops, the work doesn’t stop. Post-race maintenance is as critical as pre-race preparation, ensuring that vehicles remain in top condition for future races.

Engine and Transmission Inspection

High-speed racing puts tremendous stress on the engine and transmission. Mechanics conduct post-race engine inspections, checking for overheating, wear on moving parts, and potential damage to internal components. The transmission system is also examined to detect any issues that may have arisen due to aggressive gear shifts.

Brake System Evaluation

The extreme braking forces exerted during a race can cause brake pads and discs to wear down significantly. Teams inspect the braking system for cracks, warping, or fluid leaks and replace any components showing excessive wear.

Bodywork and Chassis Repairs

Collisions and high-speed impacts can damage a race car’s chassis. Technicians meticulously examine the car’s frame for cracks or weaknesses, reinforcing areas that may have experienced stress during the race.

Key and Lock System Maintenance

One of the most overlooked aspects of vehicle maintenance is ensuring that the car’s key and lock system is functioning correctly. In a city like Melbourne, where motorsports thrive, services such as car key replacement in Melbourne are essential for both professional and amateur racers. Losing or damaging a key can lead to significant delays, making it crucial to have a backup or a professional locksmith available when needed.

Software and Data Analysis

Modern race cars have advanced computer systems that store critical performance data. After a race, engineers analyze this data to identify areas for improvement. Based on the insights gained, adjustments can be made to the engine mapping, suspension settings, and aerodynamics.

Conclusion: The Ongoing Cycle of Car Racing Preparation

Car racing in Australia is more than just a high-speed sport—it’s a science that involves meticulous preparation, real-time adjustments, and post-race recovery. Teams invest countless hours ensuring their vehicles perform at their peak, analyzing every detail from engine tuning to safety features. Whether it’s a professional racing team or an amateur driver, understanding the importance of pre- and post-race maintenance is essential for maximizing performance and longevity. With the proper preparation and maintenance strategies, race cars can continue to dominate Australian tracks and deliver unforgettable performances for motorsport fans worldwide.

Door Ding Repair Houston: Fast And Affordable Solutions For Your Vehicle

Photo by Mathias Reding at pexels.com

Houston is a lively metropolis where cars play a crucial role in everyday activities. However, the reality of limited parking, wayward shopping carts, and inattentive drivers means that door dings and small dents are often unavoidable. Although these blemishes might appear insignificant, they can impact both the visual appeal and resale value of your vehicle.

Fortunately, there are professional services for door ding repair in Houston that provide swift, effective, and affordable ways to bring your car back to its former glory

Why Door Ding Repair is Important

While door dings may seem like minor imperfections, they can lead to serious repercussions.

  • Visual Appeal: Even minor dents can detract from your car’s appearance, giving it a less refined and cared-for look. Maintaining a dent-free vehicle helps it retain a sleek and attractive aesthetic.
  • Resale Potential: A vehicle that is in good condition with minimal imperfections attracts more buyers and can fetch a higher resale value. Taking care of dents promptly aids in maintaining your car’s worth and appeal in the market.
  • Avoiding Further Issues: Overlooking dents can result in rust and deterioration, potentially leading to more severe problems. Taking care of minor damages quickly can help avert long-term structural concerns.
  • Financial Benefits: Addressing a small dent right away is significantly cheaper than managing extensive damage later on. Timely repairs can save you from expensive fixes in the future.

Common Causes of Door Dings in Houston

Door Ding Repair Houston is essential in a bustling city where minor dents are common. Frequent culprits include tight parking spaces, runaway shopping carts, and careless drivers.

  • Parking Lot Incidents: The limited space in shopping center and office complex parking lots increases the likelihood of unintentional scratches and dings. Crowded areas elevate the risk of minor damage to vehicles.
  • Shopping Carts: Abandoned shopping carts in grocery store parking lots can easily roll into parked cars, creating unwanted dents. Factors like wind and sloped terrain can exacerbate this risk.
  • Car Doors: Passengers opening their doors recklessly can strike adjacent vehicles, resulting in noticeable dings. This issue is even more prevalent in cramped parking situations.
  • Hailstorms: Houston’s erratic weather patterns can lead to sudden hailstorms, potentially leaving numerous small dents on your vehicle. Intense storms can inflict widespread damage in a matter of minutes.
  • Minor Accidents: Low-speed collisions in driveways and parking garages frequently lead to small dents. Even minor bumps can create lasting impressions on your car’s exterior.

Fast and Affordable Door Ding Repair Solutions

Houston offers several door ding repair options depending on the extent of the damage. Here are the most effective methods:

1. Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)

Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) has become a widely favored and efficient technique for addressing small dents and imperfections.

  • Process:
    • Skilled technicians utilize unique tools to gently push out the dent from the rear side of the panel, allowing the metal to return to its original shape without disturbing the paint finish.
  • Benefits:
    • Maintains Factory Paint Quality: The process of paintless dent repair keeps your vehicle’s original paint intact, ensuring its appearance and worth remain unchanged.
    • Swift Repair Time: Typically, paintless dent repairs can be finished in less than an hour, offering a speedy and hassle-free option.
    • Eco-Conscious Approach: This technique avoids the use of paint and fillers, leading to a decrease in toxic chemicals and waste production.
    • Budget-Friendly Option: Generally, paintless dent repair costs less than conventional body shop services, providing a more economical solution for repairs.
  • Best Suited For:
    • Minor to moderate dents that do not involve any paint loss.

2. Traditional Dent Repair

In cases where dents have resulted in paint damage, conventional dent repair techniques might be required.

  • Process Overview:
    • The damaged section is sanded down, filled in, and then repainted to blend seamlessly with the original finish.
  • Benefits:
    • Ideal for Major Dents and Damage: This repair technique successfully addresses significant dents and more substantial impairments.
    • Revives the Car’s Initial Aesthetic: Expert dent repair restores your vehicle to its pristine, original state.

3. Mobile Dent Repair Services

Numerous professionals in Houston provide mobile dent repair services, coming straight to your residence or office.

  • Process:
    • The technicians show up equipped with all the essential tools and carry out the repairs right there.
  • Benefits:
    • Efficient and Hassle-Free: Dent repair services are designed to be fast and effective, ensuring that your plans remain undisturbed.
    • No Requirement to Drop Off Your Vehicle: Numerous repairs can take place right where you are, enabling you to retain possession of your car.
  • Perfect for:
    • Professionals on the go and those with limited time availability.

4. Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Methods

Some minor dings can be repaired at home using DIY techniques, though professional service is recommended for best results.

  • Popular DIY Techniques:
    • Suction Plunger Technique: Utilizing a plunger to pull the dent back out.
    • Hot Water Technique: Applying boiling water to plastic bumpers to restore their original shape.
    • Hairdryer and Compressed Air Approach: Heating and cooling the metal to eliminate minor dents.
  • Limitations:
    • There is a possibility that the paint could be harmed while carrying out the repairs.
    • This technique is not as efficient when it comes to addressing intricate dents.
    • The panel might not be completely returned to its initial form.

Choosing the Right Door Ding Repair Service in Houston

1. Reputation and Feedback

Explore customer feedback on sites such as Google, Yelp, and various social media platforms to assess the trustworthiness of the business. Positive testimonials from former clients often reflect high-quality service.

Seek recommendations from friends and family based on their personal experiences. Additionally, check the company’s rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to confirm its standing in the community.

2. Expertise and Qualifications

Select technicians who focus on Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) and possess the necessary certifications. Adequate training is crucial for effective repair work.

Ensure they have experience with a variety of vehicle models and dent types. Proficient professionals can achieve superior results and minimize the likelihood of additional damage.

3. Cost and Clarity

Ask for a complimentary estimate before agreeing to any service. A trustworthy provider will present clear pricing without any pressure tactics.

Evaluate several providers to secure a reasonable offer. To avoid unexpected charges, request a comprehensive breakdown of costs prior to making a decision.

4. Repair Timeframe

Inquire about the anticipated duration of repairs so you can plan accordingly. While some repairs may be completed swiftly, others could take more time.

Mobile PDR services frequently offer same-day repairs, whereas conventional repair shops may require a longer period for completion.

5. Warranty and Guarantee of Satisfaction

Opt for providers that include warranties for their repair work. A warranty protects you in case issues emerge later on.

Seek out companies that have a satisfaction guarantee policy. This ensures you have reassurance that any concerns will be addressed after the repair is completed.

Preventing Future Door Dings

While dings are sometimes unavoidable, you can take preventive measures to minimize the risk:

  • Opt for End-of-Row Parking: Selecting a parking space at the end of a row decreases the likelihood of other cars being parked next to yours, which helps prevent unintentional door dings and scratches.
  • Utilize Corner Spaces in Garages: Parking in corners of garages offers added protection by reducing your vehicle’s exposure to adjacent cars. These spots are usually shielded by walls or barriers that serve as a safeguard.
  • Add Door Edge Protectors: Installing door edge protectors can help avert chips and dents when you open your car door. This straightforward addition safeguards both your vehicle and those parked nearby.
  • Select Spots Away from Busy Areas: Aim for parking in less congested parts of the lot to minimize the chances of damage. With fewer vehicles and pedestrians around, there’s a reduced risk of accidental collisions.
  • Exercise Caution with Shopping Carts: Steer clear of parking close to cart return zones where unattended carts might roll into your car. Opting for a more distant parking spot can help lower this risk.

TEAM CHEVY NASCAR RACE ADVANCE: Las Vegas Motor Speedway

TEAM CHEVY ADVANCE
Las Vegas Motor Speedway
March 14-16, 2025

After sitting idle for back-to-back weekends, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway to join the Cup and Xfinity Series for part two of the sport’s west coast swing.

NASCAR’s third tripleheader weekend of the season will kickoff under the lights Friday night with the Truck Series’ Ecosave 200, with the Bowtie brand looking for a three-peat in the series at the Nevada venue. The Xfinity Series will hit the track Saturday afternoon in ‘The LiUNA!’ 300-mile race, with NASCAR’s top division ending the weekend with Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube.

Chevrolet at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series was the first among the three national touring series to be welcomed to Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Nov. 1996, with the Xfinity Series following suit just a few months later for its inaugural event at the venue in Mar. 1997. Both series debuts saw a Chevrolet-powered machine make its way to victory lane, with Jack Sprague (Truck Series) and Jeff Green (Xfinity Series) becoming the track’s first-time winners in their respective series.

Chevrolet will enter the weekend with back-to-back Truck Series victories at Las Vegas. In Mar. 2023, Kyle Busch started his return to the Chevrolet camp with a trip to victory lane at his home track in a Spire Motorsports-prepared Silverado RST – a triumph that ended a double-digit winless streak for the manufacturer at the track. One year later, the Chevrolet organization took yet another checkered flag at the 1.5-mile venue with Rajah Caruth – the young driver’s first-ever victory in the NASCAR national ranks. Caruth’s triumph marked Chevrolet’s 11th all-time Truck Series win at Las Vegas.

In the Xfinity Series, the Bowtie brand will return to Las Vegas as the series’ defending winners at the track. In Oct. 2024, Kaulig Racing’s AJ Allmendinger earned his first win of the season and a bid into the series’ Championship Four by taking the checkered flag at the Nevada venue. The victory marked Chevrolet’s 18th all-time Xfinity Series victory at Las Vegas – giving the manufacturer a winning percentage of over 50 percent in the series at the track.

In 34 appearances by NASCAR’s top division at Las Vegas, Chevrolet has recorded 13 all-time victories. The Bowtie brand is the series’ defending winner of the track’s spring race – a victory courtesy of Kyle Larson and the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet team (Mar. 2024). The feat was Larson’s second consecutive trip to victory lane in the division at the Nevada venue, with his triumph one year ago marking Hendrick Motorsports’ series-leading 10th victory at the track.

Next Gen in Nevada:

Chevrolet’s strength at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has skyrocketed in the Next Gen era, with the manufacturer earning the victory in four of the six events at the track since the debut of the Next Gen car. The first of those wins came in the car’s debut at the 1.5-mile oval in Mar. 2022 with Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman, with his triumph celebrated by a Team Chevy podium sweep in the event (Kyle Larson – second; Ross Chastain – third). The manufacturer went on to tally three-straight wins in the division at the track, including a 2023 season sweep courtesy of Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron (Mar.) and Kyle Larson (Oct.).

ROWDY RETURNING HOME WITH TOP-10 STREAK

Richard Childress Racing’s Kyle Busch has more drive than ever to make his return to victory lane in NASCAR’s top division, and the Chevrolet driver will head to his home track with a little extra momentum under his belt. The 39-year-old Nevada native is one of just two drivers that will enter the weekend with three-straight top-10 results, joining the series’ three-time winner Christopher Bell. Busch has made it to victory lane on his home turf in all three national series, including one Cup Series win (2009), two Xfinity Series wins (2016, 2019) and four Truck Series wins (2018-2020, 2023).

BYRON PROVING TO BE EARLY TITLE CONTENDER

Although it wasn’t the finish that the team was hoping for, William Byron and the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet team was able to hold onto the points lead for the second consecutive week following a sixth-place finish at Phoenix Raceway. The weekend started with a strong performance on Saturday, with the 27-year-old North Carolina native knocking the series’ reigning champion, Joey Logano, off the top of the qualifying leaderboard to take his first pole win of the season. On Sunday, Byron drove his Chevrolet-powered machine to podium finishes in both stages, including collecting the win in Stage One. Running in the top-five nearing the final pit stop of the day, an untimely caution threw a wrench into the No. 24 team’s strategy – trapping the team on pit road and ultimately forcing Byron to take the wave around. With a fresh set of option tires on, Byron was able to power his way through the field and put the team back into contention – ultimately taking the checkered flag in the sixth position.

Despite the final result, it was still a banner day for the Chevrolet driver. Byron was able to extend his streak to 19-straight top-10 stage finishes at Phoenix Raceway – a number that matches Martin Truex Jr.’s record for the most consecutive top-10 stage finishes at a single track. Byron also tallied 83 laps led (second-most to race winner Christopher Bell), making him the only driver to lead laps in every race thus far this season.

LOVE TO THE LEAD

Tallying yet another top-10 finish at Phoenix Raceway last weekend, Richard Childress Racing’s Jesse Love powered his way to the top of the Xfinity Series points standings – entering the Las Vegas race weekend with a two-point lead over reigning champion Justin Allgaier. Competing in just his sophomore campaign in the series, the 20-year-old California native is making an early statement as a championship contender. Already earning a playoff berth with his victory in the series’ season-opener, Love is one of just three drivers that have earned top-10 finishes in three of the four races thus far this season. With only two starts under his belt at Las Vegas, Love’s career-best finish of sixth came in the series’ most recent appearance at the track (Oct. 2024).

Despite a disappointing early exit from the race last weekend, Love’s teammate, Austin Hill, is heading back to a track where he’s found a fair amount of success. The 30-year-old Georgia native is the series’ only current full-time competitor that is a past winner at Las Vegas (Mar. 2023). Hill has navigated his Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet to five-straight top-10 finishes at the track. Hill is also one of just two drivers that have tallied triple-digit laps led already this season, with fellow Chevrolet driver, Allgaier, joining Hill on that elite list after coming up just short of the victory at Phoenix last weekend.

CARUTH READY FOR A REBOUND

A return trip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway is exactly what Spire Motorsports’ Rajah Caruth needs to turn his 2025 season around. Putting a pair of tough speedway races in his rearview mirror, Caruth will head back to the track that delivered the young Chevrolet driver a career weekend one year ago. In just his third start with Spire Motorsports, Caruth quickly became a race-winning contender by driving his No. 71 Chevrolet to the top of the leaderboard in qualifying – marking Caruth’s first career pole win in the series. The 22-year-old Georgia native went on to tally 38-laps led (second-best of the race) en route to his first career victory in the NASCAR national ranks. Among the series’ full-time competitors this season, Caruth is one of just four past Las Vegas winners, with fellow Chevrolet driver and the series’ current points leader, Grant Enfinger, joining that list with one victory at the Nevada venue (Sept. 2018).

Alex Bowman – one win (Mar. 2022)

Kyle Busch – one win (Mar. 2009)

· In 34 NASCAR Cup Series races held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Chevrolet has recorded 13 victories. Hendrick Motorsports leads the series in wins at the track with 10, recorded by five different drivers: Jeff Gordon (2001), Jimmie Johnson (2005, 2006, 2007, 2010), Kyle Larson (2021, 2023, 2024), Alex Bowman (2022), William Byron (2023).

· Chevrolet has won four of the six races in the Next Gen era at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, including the car’s debut race (Alex Bowman – Mar. 2022) and a sweep of the 2023 season’s events (William Byron – Mar. 2023; Kyle Larson – Oct. 2023).

· In 112 points-paying races in the Next Gen era, Chevrolet leads all manufacturers with 53 victories – a winning percentage of 47.3%.

QUOTABLE QUOTES:

Ross Chastain, No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet

Statistically, Las Vegas has been one of your better tracks in recent years. Why is that?

“I’ve been really good at Las Vegas in the Cup Series since I started driving for Trackhouse. I hope to continue that trend this weekend. We had a really good car there back in the fall until I sped on pit road. That put us behind and we spent the rest of the race trying to catch back up. I’ve been so fortunate that Phil Surgen has given me fast cars and I just need to leave the driver error out of it and get a great result for my team. For whatever reason, Vegas has been one of those tracks where whatever Phil does with the setup, it really suits my driving style there.”

Do you enjoy going to Las Vegas?

“Las Vegas is always a fun track for me and it’s great to be driving the Kubota car which represents who I am as person growing up in an agriculture family. Outside of the car I’m going to join the PRN (Performance Racing Network) booth to broadcast the Xfinity Series race which is always a unique perspective. Away from the track there’s a lot of great hiking and all kinds of different things to do in the market.”

Justin Haley, No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet

How do you look to build some momentum heading into Las Vegas?

“We’ve had speed the past few weeks on our No. 7 Gainbridge Chevrolet ZL1 but have been plagued with bad luck. I’m looking forward to Las Vegas this weekend. It is one of my favorite tracks on the schedule and hopefully we can starting building some momentum.”

Kyle Busch, No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet

What are some of your early memories of Las Vegas?

“I always remember sitting in the grandstands as a kid, just kind of turning around looking and being like, man, one day, you know, one day I want to race there. So, Vegas is just a cool track. Years ago it was wider and flatter and put on some really good racing. I finished really well there early on my first few years, then they reconfigured and remade it. I won early on in 2009, I believe it was, to get my only win there. But man, I’ve been so close, I think my top three finishes is really, really high.”

What is your fondest racing memory of growing up in Las Vegas?

“My fondest racing memory is probably my first Late Model race. I started about eighth or 10th and ended up winning it. My first-ever start, I won. So that is definitely a great memory to have.”

Is there more pressure racing at your hometown track?

“Yeah, Vegas always means a little bit more pressure – more pressure on myself – just because it’s the hometown and you want to win there. Thankfully, I have won there and I’ve knocked that one off the list, but certainly you want to win there every year. I love Vegas, the atmosphere and everything going on around that place.”

What was it like to bring home a Cup Series win in your hometown in 2009?

“It was cool. To go out there and to run a smooth race and to have a shot at winning at the end of the race, that’s what it’s all about. I watched Vegas being built from the ground up, and I remember when it wasn’t anything but a gleam in the eye of Richie Clyne (founder of Las Vegas Motor Speedway) – all those guys who made that place happen.”

With four races in the books, how would you assess the start to your season?

“I would say that the step that we made from last year to this year was a really good step. Another major step like that, we can be a contender for racing for the win.”

Ty Dillon, No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet

“Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) is a track that early in my career in the Cup Series wasn’t a very good track for me, but over the last three or four years, especially with the next gen car, I’ve seen mass improvements on results and confidence around the track. I’m feeling pretty strong, and I feel like this year we’re going to have a good opportunity to go in there and have a good run. I think Kaulig Racing always has good success at Las Vegas, especially in the Xfinity Series, so there are some good vibes around the racetrack. We had a good run last weekend at Phoenix, just some mistakes on my part that I need to clean up, but hopefully we can go into this weekend and have another solid day and keep improving on our No. 10 Sea Best Chevy.”

AJ Allmendinger, No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet

“Las Vegas on the Cup side has been fairly strong for us. In the past, I have been comfortable running that track, obviously we’ve had success on the Xfinity side, and we’ve always had speed. It’s a really fast racetrack and the first true mile-and-a-half. I feel like with the work we’ve done in the off season, we can have a lot of speed and put together a solid weekend.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., No. 47 Hyak Motorsports Chevrolet

Over the past two seasons, you’ve averaged top-25 finishes at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. What more do you need to help break into the top-20 at not only Las Vegas, but other intermediate tracks?

“Las Vegas Motor Speedway has kind of been an up-and-down track for us. I feel like we’ve had speed at times, but with this new car, I feel like we’ve somewhat struggled. For sure the last time at Las Vegas, but we were trying some different things, so I think we know what made us not as good there. I’m looking forward to going back though. Mile-and-a-halves have been a place where we should run better theoretically based on the handling of our racecars and the speed we’ve had. We need to limit mistakes and make sure we have a good car this weekend.”

Michael McDowell, No. 71 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet

What are your thoughts heading into Las Vegas?

“We had a lot of speed in Phoenix, and it showed in qualifying. Unfortunately, our day was cut short of the result we probably deserved. We are going to learn a lot on this west coast swing, but we are trending in the right direction. I am proud of everyone at Spire Motorsports and excited to see where our 1.5-mile program will be this weekend. Las Vegas has been a second home for me after I left Phoenix. I spent a lot of time there early in my karting career with my brother, so I am excited to get back there and see where our intermediate program stacks up.”

Carson Hocevar, No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet

Las Vegas will be the first true 1.5-mile intermediate track that the Cup Series will visit this season. How do you feel the team is progressing at this point and what do you expect this weekend?

“We’ve had a really good start to the season and I think we’ll see that continue at Las Vegas. We’ve had a lot of speed and it’s been really fun to be competitive early in the year. The mile-and-a-half tracks have always been some of my favorites. I feel like those are where I’ve had the most consistency so I’m eager to see where we end up during practice and qualifying.”

Shane van Gisbergen, No. 88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet

You raced for Red Bull in Supercars. What does it mean to have Red Bull join you in the NASCAR Cup Series?

“It means a lot to have Red Bull on my Chevrolet. They were great supporters of mine back home in Supercars, so it’s pretty cool to have their backing in my NASCAR career. I have enjoyed a lot of new experiences and met a lot of new people since coming to America and I’m excited for Red Bull to join me on this journey. Hoping for many great results in my No. 88 Red Bull Chevrolet.”

How has it been for you to adjust as a Cup Series rookie, after all those years of being the superstar in the Supercars series?

“It’s been awesome and it’s been a really good change. The off-season was great. But just racing every weekend is the biggest adjustment, knowing what I am doing every single weekend until November. Normally I’m trying to find other drives and other series to race in to fill my time. It’s a pretty full-on year coming up but I’m really pumped about it.”

Daniel Suarez, No. 99 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet

What about your season so far?

“We have had fast Chevrolet’s in just about every race but haven’t been able to get the finishes we should get. That will change. We will have a good weekend soon, hopefully this weekend in Las Vegas. The last two weeks we have had a top 10, maybe a top-five car. We keep doing that and we will be okay. I’m ready for some good luck.”

What do you remember about the October Las Vegas race?

“It was a little heartbreaking. We were so close. We had a great No. 99 Chevrolet and I certainly thought we had a chance to win. As it was coming down to the checkered flag, we needed to get to the bottom lane, but there were a few cars stuck down there and in dirty air. I felt like if I had the bottom, Joey (Logano) wouldn’t be able to pass me, but you never know.”

Connor Zilisch, No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet

What have you been doing to prepare for Las Vegas?

“We have been doing quite a bit of SIM work. It’s a high-speed track, high banking, and high grip. It’s going to be cool to go there for the first time in a stock car. I grew up racing go-karts in Vegas quite a bit and enjoyed it a lot. I’m excited to go back and run at the NASCAR track for the first time.”

How important is this stretch of races for you in the learning process?

“We’re finally starting to settle in at these racetracks, getting into more normal style racetracks. It will be good to get into a rhythm these next few races and figure out what we need to be doing and how I like the car. It’s important to have good cars at these racetracks. It’s good to get some points early in the season and start stashing them for the playoffs. Hopefully we can get some stage wins, run up front, and contend for wins.”
