Jason White, No. 23 GunBroker.com / Grime Boss Ford F-150, Homestead Preview

Jason White – No. 23 GunBroker.com/Grime Boss Ford F-150

Jason on Homestead: “Homestead is always a bitter sweet race. It’s exciting because it is a great track in the Miami area which provides a great atmosphere. But it is also the last race of the season so that is a little sad. The track itself is fast and really requires you to keep your momentum, so it’s crucial to get a good balance on your truck so you can maintain that momentum.”

“The track has become somewhat rough over the last few years which makes tire management another key to success. When the tires wear, it requires you to move around to using multiple grooves to keep up the necessary momentum to be fast there.”

Jason at Homestead: This will mark Jason’s fifth career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Homestead-Miami Speedway. His best finish was ninth in this race last season. He has an average starting position of 17.2 in those previous four events with an average finish of 17.8.

Race Rewind: The last month of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has been a challenging one that has been plagued by bad breaks for Jason White and his No. 23 Ford. With only two races remaining in the 2012 season, Jason looked to change his fortunes as the series visited the newly re-paved Phoenix International Raceway. His hopes were dashed with an early race incident coming off Turn Four which hampered the No. 23 GunBroker.com / Grime Boss Ford F-150 and ultimately resulted in a 21st place finish in the running of the Lucas Oil 150.

White started the 150-lap event on the newly re-paved track from the 26th position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day. Jason would slowly move his way through the field and an early race pit stop allowed for a minor adjustment, which made the No. 23 Ford the best it had been all weekend. Unfortunately, Jason would lose control of his truck coming off Turn Four on lap 48, which resulted in contact with a fellow competitor and significant damage to the front end of the No. 23 GunBroker.com / Grime Boss Ford. With the damage, Jason and his GB Racing team fought for all they could get before being forced to retire to the garage with a mere 10 laps remaining. The end result was a disappointing 21st place finish

The 21st-place finish kept White in the 11th position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – just 21 points out of the tenth position.

“Bullet” Flies into South Florida: The GunBroker.com team will be bringing the truck they nicknamed “Bullet” to Homestead-Miami Speedway this week. In honor of the team’s sponsor, GunBroker.com, the GB Racing team uses gun and shooting themed names for most of their trucks – thus the name “Bullet”. “Bullet” last raced in Martinsville where Jason came home with a 13th place finish. This will be the ninth race of the season for this truck with its best finish of sixth place coming at Charlotte back in May.

Season Recap: The 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has been one of mixed feelings for Jason White and his GunBroker.com team. Jason scored his career

best finish of second at Michigan but also struggled through four DNF’s through the first 21 races. He has two Top-Five and four Top-10 finishes to his credit heading

into the season finale this week in Homestead. He sits in the 11th position in the overall driver’s standing with an outside chance to breaking into the Top-10 to end

the season.
