Ray Black Jr. Excited for High Speeds of Texas Motor Speedway

MOORESVILLE, NC – October 28, 2014 Ray Black Jr. will make his sixth start of 2014 in the No. 08 ScubaLife / NASE Worldwide Chevrolet for SS Green Light Racing when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races Friday night under the lights at the Texas Motor Speedway.

“I’m ready to get back at it!” said Black with a hearty laugh. “I’ve been sitting here for a month, so I’m ready to get back behind the wheel.”

Black’s best finish of the 2014 campaign came at Chicagoland in September, in his first visit to a mile-and-a-half speedway. “We did Chicago and we finished 18th so I’m looking for that same result or better at Texas. I believe we are bringing the same truck back and I think we’ll have a good opportunity to better that finish.”

“This is going to be a big race for me because we are getting to a faster track again and I’m learning to hold it to the floor a little bit better and hopefully we’ll have a good run,” Black continued. “I love how you can use different lines at these tracks; if your car is not working at the bottom, you can try the middle or top. On the short-track you might have two grooves right next to each other, these big tracks might have ten grooves and you can work the track to find the speed or use the draft to make up for a little horsepower. I’m excited for it.”

“We’re going to finish the year at Homestead which is another mile-and-a-half, so we’re looking to finish the year at these two fast tracks,” Black concluded. “I’m looking forward to these next couple weeks. Personally, I just love the speed!”
