Burton Looking to Shine in Lone Star State

No. 43 J. Streicher Team Confident Heading into Third Intermediate Track of Season

The NASCAR XFINITY Series is well rested and ready to get back to racing, as the No. 43 J. Streicher team and Jeb Burton head to Texas this weekend for the third intermediate track on the schedule. The No. 43 team has found success on the intermediate tracks so far this season, finishing 10th in Atlanta and 16th in California. Currently, Burton sits 12th in the Championship Point Standings, working each weekend to qualify for the Chase for the Cup playoff system beginning in Chicago.

Texas is a track that Burton ran very well at throughout his career. In the Camping World Truck Series, Burton has one win (Spring 2013), one pole (Fall 2013) and a second-place finish in 2014. In five starts in the Truck Series, Burton has two Top-Five finishes and three Top-15 finishes. This will be his first race in the XFINITY Series at Texas.

“I’ve always liked getting around Texas, and I’ve had a lot of success there in the Camping World Truck Series. The last race for our No. 43 J. Streicher team ended on positive note, even though we struggled a little bit early in the race in California. I think the break will help the team and will help us be better from here on out as the team grows together and gets to know each other better. We are running a newer chassis, which is the same car as California but with a new body. We’re really excited about that, and the guys are pumped up that we, as a team, can start building momentum heading into Texas and hopefully get the car to the front and sneak in a win in the next couple of races.”
