SMITHLEY ROLLS INTO TEXAS

FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas Motor Speedway will be the next stop on Garrett Smithley’s Xfinity Series rookie tour.
Smithley will race for the first time at TMS Friday night in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 Xfinity race.

TMS will be Smithley’s fourth non-restricted “fast” track of the season after Atlanta, Las Vegas and Fontana.

“After a much-deserved two-week break for the team, I think we are all ready to get back to the track,” Smithley said. “The JD Motorsports crew has worked hard to improve our speed from our West Coast races, and I think that will show this weekend.

“I am ready to make my Texas Motor Speedway debut. It’s a track that I have driven at several times working at the Richard Petty Driving Experience, and I think it’s another 1.5-mile track I will really enjoy.”
Smithley is 22nd in Xfinity series points.

Practice rounds are scheduled at TMS at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. (ET) Thursday. Qualifying is set for 4:45 p.m. Friday, with the race to follow at 7:30 p.m.
