CHASTAIN ‘VETERAN’ AT TEXAS

FORT WORTH, Texas – Although he remains relatively new to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Ross Chastain is virtually a veteran driver at Texas Motor Speedway, site of Friday night’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300, the sixth race of the season.

Chastain has driven in the Xfinity Series twice and the Camping World Truck Series four times at the fast 1.5-mile track, one of the most challenging on the Xfinity schedule.

“Texas is fast and technical,” Chastain said. “I like that kind of track. You have to have a fast car, but you have to have a good handle on it, too. I’m looking forward to chasing it again.”

Chastain, driving the Flex Seal Chevrolet this week, is 16th in Xfinity driver points entering Friday night’s race. He has a top race finish of 16th this year.

Practice is scheduled at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. (ET) Thursday. Qualifying is set for 4:45 p.m. Friday, with the race green flag scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
