Chris Buescher makes his third NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) on Saturday. In his previous two starts, both coming last season, Buescher earned 15th and 12th-place results.
“This weekend’s race will be a big barometer for where our program is at early in the season. Last fall, we finished fifth there, but after early trouble, we were lapped twice under green. The strategy played out in our favor at the end.
“I’m excited to have Tony come on board for this week’s race,” said team owner Johnny Davis. “He’s been around the sport for a long time and knows all the ins and outs of racing. We’ll go to Phoenix with a really good shot at doing well.”
“Phoenix is a tough one-mile track but it is a lot of fun to race there. This is our first short track of the season so it will allow us to evaluate our cars to see how our car reacts with new rules package and reduced horsepower.
