NASCAR Cup Series

Mike Helton’s annual travel itinerary includes, among several other destinations, 36 stops at tracks on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule. As Vice Chairman of NASCAR, Helton has collected memories everywhere – from Auto Club Speedway to Watkins Glen International. Two weekends each season, however, are circled on his loaded calendar: The Spring and Fall Classics at Talladega Superspeedway.

For the first time in its history, Kyle Petty will be joined by his three sisters and legendary father during the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, one of the most successful and popular charity rides in the country, for its 22nd annual motorcycle trek.

Richard Petty Motorsports announced today an alignment with Pioneer Technology Group for the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. The software development company will have associate placement on the No. 44 Ford Fusion driven by Brian Scott.

Ryan Blaney, driver of the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion, returns to the site of his first NASCAR start, Richmond International Raceway, this time in the Sprint Cup Series with the Wood Brothers. Blaney spoke about coming back to Richmond and his stellar rookie season to date with media members Friday morning.

Though NASCAR has a reputation to protect, matters of safety should always be addressed openly and not relegated to the shadows. More importantly, when several veterans of the sport are concerned enough to speak out, NASCAR would be well advised to listen rather than worrying about public perception.

If you would have told me that Matt Kenseth would have been winless headed into the ninth race of the season and on the outside looking into the playoffs, I would have called you crazy. But, that is the case, he currently sits 18th in points with just one top 10 finish this season.
