For the first time in history, NASCAR heads to the streets of a major city as Chicago hosts the NASCAR Cup Series for the Chicago Street Race.

This will mark the first time NASCAR will be competing on a street course as downtown Chicago plays host to the NASCAR Cup and NASCAR XFINITY Series this weekend.

Michael McDowell and the No. 34 team head to Chicago, Illinois for the inaugural Chicago Street Race. The street course will feature 12 turns throughout Chicago’s Grant Park.

While the street-course in Chicago is a first for NASCAR’s top series, Truex has been impressive on road courses during his career.

Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 GEARWRENCH® Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), comes into the Grant Park 220 with some street-race experience, albeit 24 years ago when he drove on the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour.

Harrison Burton and the No. 21 DEX Imaging team used a successful mid-race strategy play to overcome a poor starting position and post a 21st-place finish in Sunday’s Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway.

Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain continued Chevrolet’s streak of dominance in the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) at Nashville Superspeedway – driving his No. 1 Worldwide Express Camaro ZL1 to the victory in the Ally 400.
