As NASCAR celebrates its 75th Anniversary in 2023, one race on the Cup Series schedule will serve as a gritty reminder of how the popular sport firmly planted its roots and has blossomed into a fan-favorite in the United States.

The 2-mile oval of Auto Club Speedway will be the first of three stops on the NASCAR Cup Series’ (NCS) west coast swing. Sunday’s Pala Casino 400 will mark the final time that NASCAR will take on the track’s 2-mile configuration as the venue will undergo a major reconfiguration to bring a short-track layout to southern California.
