Nemechek reported difficulty finding a comfortable balance in his No. 38 YANMAR Ford Mustang early on and the crew made a wedge adjustment and added some grille tape during the competition caution on Lap 20.

Ryan Newman appeared poised for a strong run in Sunday night’s Coca-Cola 600, having powered his No. 6 Roman Ford inside the top 10 before a faulty battery dropped the team off the pace just over halfway through the race.

With the name of Sergeant First Class John Jarrell printed on his No. 34 Love's Travel Stops Ford Mustang, Michael McDowell took the green flag in Sunday's Coca Cola 600 from the 27th position.
