NASCAR Penalty Report / Dover International Speedway

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 car, has received a penalty for his actions during the May 31 race (Sections 12.1, 12.8 b and 10.4.2.1 in the 2015 NASCAR rule book). After the No. 6 car was involved in an on-track incident, the driver walked across the racing surface before he was attended to by the track safety crew. Bayne has been fined $20,000 and placed on NASCAR probation through Dec. 31.

POCONO SUITS HAMLIN: Only one NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) driver has been more successful at Pocono Raceway than Camry driver Denny Hamlin, and Jeff Gordon has been racing at the 2.5-mile triangular track twice as long. Hamlin has four Pocono winner’s trophies – including two in a Camry (August 2009 and June 2010) and two from the first year he visited the Pennsylvania race track in 2006.

Buescher Tames the Monster; Scores Roush Fenway’s 17th Win at Dover

Roush Fenway Racing’s Chris Buescher took over the race lead with 10 laps remaining inSaturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at the ‘Monster Mile’ of Dover International Speedway and was able to hang on, conserving enough fuel in his No. 60 Roush Performance Ford for the final 10 miles, as the XFINITY points leader claimed his second victory in the last three races. Buescher started the race on the outside of the front row by pole winner and teammate Bubba Wallace. After the one-two start, the two battled late for the lead, before Wallace had to pit with a flat tire after the two Fords made contact.
