It takes nerves of steel to circle Talladega Superspeedway at nearly 200 mph. The driver who does that the fastest on the final lap of Sunday’s Hellmann’s 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race will be appropriately awarded with the new Vulcan Trophy, a miniature version of the famous cast-iron statue that overlooks the city in nearby Birmingham.

Hellmann’s® mayonnaise, which has been a staple in American kitchens for generations, and NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track – Talladega Superspeedway - announced today that Sunday’s (Oct. 23) much anticipated elimination race in the 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup will now be known as the Hellmann’s 500.

A year ago, NASCAR’s biggest and baddest track - Talladega Superspeedway - offered fans a one-of-a-kind joy ride for their taste buds with the colossal “The Big One” Meatball. Thanks to Americrown, the racetrack’s food and beverage provider, this year’s flavorsome menu returned in May with the incredibly delicious “Talla-Mento Dogwich.” Well, they’re both back just in time for this weekend’s anticipated Chase Double Elimination Races - the Alabama 500 & fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola.

ACM’s 2015 New Artist of the Year Cole Swindell will wave the green flag to start the fifth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the Hollywood Casino 400, on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1:30 PM CT.

Already in the elite company of legendary drivers who have tasted a great deal of success at Talladega Superspeedway, Brad Keselowski will be chasing more history when he gets behind the wheel of his No. 2 Team Penske Ford for the Alabama 500, Sunday, Oct. 23. And, in doing so, he could punch his ticket to the Round of 8 in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Kansas Speedway announced today that Kansas City Royals catcher, and member of the 2015 World Series championship team, Drew Butera will be the honorary pace car driver for the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday, Oct. 16.

Jimmie Johnson made an emotionally charged return to victory lane at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, when the six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Serieschampion became the first driver to win four Bank of America 500 races in an action-packed fourth race of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Due to inclement weather, Friday’s on-track activity has been moved to Sunday; the Drive for the Cure 300 presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina will be moved to Sunday at 11 a.m.; Saturday’s Bank of America 500, the only Saturday night race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, will begin at 7 p.m.
