he NASCAR XFINITY Series is making format changes in a handful of races this season, and the Lilly Diabetes 250 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 23 is a beneficiary.

What do two heat races and a 140-lap main event equal? A new and exciting experience for race fans. That’s what the NASCAR XFINITY Series Dash 4 Cash is bringing to Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, April 23. The ToyotaCare 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series race is one of only four Dash 4 Cash races for the 2016 season, bringing with it a new on-track race format specific to these four races.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will perform the flyover for the 58th annual DAYTONA 500 on Sunday, Feb. 21. It will be the first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season opener after the completion of DAYTONA Rising, the $400 million frontstretch redevelopment project that will transform Daytona International Speedway into the first motorsports stadium in the world.

NASCAR’s first paved superspeedway paid homage to stock car racing’s past when it launched a “throwback” campaign for this year’s Bojangles’ Southern 500, and the move proved to be one of the most talked about, most popular events of the year. So much so that the program has earned the track the National Motorsports Press Association’s 2015 Myers Brothers Award.

Atlanta Motor Speedway was last resurfaced in 1997 and today is among the oldest racing surfaces on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit. While track officials are constantly monitoring the track's condition, there are, at this time, no plans in place to resurface the track.

Atlanta Motor Speedway will install additional SAFER barrier to both its inside and outside retaining walls prior to the 2016 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 Weekend, scheduled for Feb. 26-28.
