The Freedom Trophy, Talladega Superspeedway’s newest tradition to honor our Country’s military, will be presented to the winner of the CampingWorld.com 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, Oct. 25 by Colonel Eric F. Buer, United States Marine Corp Pensacola, FL.

Richard Childress Racing driver Austin Dillon took advantage of a clash between then race leader Kyle Busch and Kasey Kahne to win the Drive for the Cure 300 presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and complete the season sweep of NASCAR XFINITY Series races at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Country Music Association and four-time Academy of Country Music Award winner Eric Church, who is currently nominated for five CMA Awards, including Single of the Year for “Talladega”, will serve as the Honorary “Pace Car Driver” for the CampingWorld.com 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, October 25.

In just over two weeks, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) drivers Timothy Peters and Daniel Hemric will come to Talladega Superspeedway for the fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola (Saturday, Oct. 24) with two different perspectives. Peters, the defending champion of the race, will seek to become the third driver ever to win back-to-back truck events at TSS while Hemric, a rookie in the NCWTS, will see the track for the first time ever with hopes for a solid finish.
