NASCAR’s new Gen-6 Car has drawn rave reviews from drivers and fans alike after the first 10 races in 2013. On May 14-15, the car will make its debut at Michigan International Speedway when two teams conduct a test. And fans are invited to watch free of charge.

Talladega Superspeedway fans are known for being patriotic, but this Sunday they will have more reason to feel proud to be an American a historic flyover takes them back to the earlier days of the speedway.

Aaron’s, Inc., a lease-to-own retailer specializing in the sales and lease ownership of residential furniture, consumer electronics, home appliances and accessories, will sponsor the Aaron’s Dream Weekend at Talladega Superspeedway for the 12th year, May 3-5.

The popular restaurant Jim ‘N Nick’s, which was recently named the winner of “Alabama Food’s Best BBQ Competition,” will proudly serve as the exclusive barbeque provider for NASCAR’s ultimate hospitality destination – the Talladega Experience – during the Aaron’s Dream Weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, set for this Friday through Sunday (May 3-5).

Race fans will be treated to a very special pre-race event, as country music group Gloriana will play a free concert for fans in Victory Plaza the morning of the June 2 “FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks” NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. The award-winning trio will also perform the National Anthem for the day’s race.

Talladega Superspeedway is proud to announce that the University of Alabama’s quarterback AJ McCarron, who helped guide the Crimson Tide to back-to-back BCS National Championship titles, will serve as the “Honorary Pace Car Driver” for the Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, May 5.

Former Major League Baseball icon Chipper Jones, believed by many to be a future “first-ballot” Hall of Famer, will serve as the Grand Marshal for the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, May 5.

Aaron’s, Inc. is partnering with the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama to host a can drive at one of the largest sporting events of the year – Aaron’s Dream Weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, May 3-5.

On Saturday, April 20th, Pocono Raceway, a leader in the sports industry for their ongoing Pocono Green initiatives, and ZLOOP Computer and Electronics Recycling Centers transformed part of the infield space at the “Tricky Triangle” into one of Pennsylvania’s largest e-Waste recycling events of the year in celebration of Earth Day 2013.

A couple of NASCAR drivers who are used to driving race cars on backstretches and straightaways watched some sluggers drive baseballs into centerfield during Richmond International Raceway Night at The Diamond, Presented by AAA and the Richmond Flying Squirrels. NASCAR’s Michael Waltrip and Martin Truex Jr. were in town today to ramp up RIR’s race week, which features NASCAR events this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
