Haas Factory Team Announces 2025 Organization Lineup

Crew Chiefs, Competition Directors Named for Cup and Xfinity Entries

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (Jan. 8, 2025) – Haas Factory Team (HFT) has announced its organizational lineup for the 2025 season, with a bevy of personnel changes across its NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Cup teams.

Jason Trinchere, a veteran in the Xfinity and Truck ranks, joins the team as crew chief for Sam Mayer and the No. 41 program. Jonathon Toney, who’s led Cole Custer and the No. 00 the last several seasons – remains atop the box for the No. 00 team, now paired with new HFT driver Sheldon Creed.

The team also welcomes two new competition directors, Nick Sandler taking the reigns in the Cup program, while Adam Gravitt will lead competition operations on the Xfinity side.

Trinchere joins HFT after spending a season in the Truck Series with Chase Purdy and the No. 77 Spire Motorsports team. He has also worked in the Xfinity Series, spending four seasons with Kaulig Racing, where he collected five wins with AJ Allmendinger. With prior experience with Landon Cassill and Daniel Hemric, as well, the season-opener at Daytona will mark Trinchere’s 100th start as a crew chief in Xfinity.

Toney – who led Custer to the 2023 Xfinity Series Championship – remains with the organization after beginning at HaasCNC Racing over 20 years ago. In his time with Custer, Toney has five victories and 42 top-10s in less than 75 races as a crew chief.

Sandler, a former crew chief himself, joins HFT from Roush Fenway Keselowski (RFK) Racing, where he began back in 2006. During his time underneath Jack Roush, Sandler worked his way through the ranks, initially as a race engineer in the Cup Series, before being elevated to crew chief for Stenhouse and the No. 17 team in 2015-16. Since, he’s led all efforts of the engineering department, and will be reunited with Aaron Kramer, also formerly at RFK, who was tabbed to lead Cole Custer’s Cup team in 2025.

Gravitt, who has been with Haas in some capacity since 2004, followed a similar path, working his way through the engineering ranks within the organization. The Virginia native served on the No. 14 road crew from 2009-12, before transitioning back to a shop role in the years following. Since, he’s managed all engineering efforts for the Xfinity program the last two seasons.

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (Jan. 8, 2025) – Black’s Tire, the family go-to tire destination, will serve as the entitlement partner for the April 18 Black’s Tire 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race when NASCAR racing returns to historic Rockingham Speedway Easter Weekend.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Track Enterprises when NASCAR returns to Rockingham Speedway,” said Ricky Benton Sr., Owner and Chairman, Black’s Tire Service. “In 2024, Black’s Tire celebrated its 95th anniversary and we can’t think of a better way to continue the festivities than supporting this historic weekend with the Black’s Tire 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race.”

The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series raced at Rockingham twice from 2012-2013 with Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson collecting the victories for late team owner Steve Turner and Turner Motorsports. Matt Crafton, a 25-year CRAFTSMAN Truck Series veteran, is the only current series regular to have competed at the high-banked, D-shaped oval when the division last raced there 12 years ago.

Separate from Larson, current NASCAR Cup Series competitors Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott, Erik Jones, Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace were all part of the field when the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series last tested its mettle at Rockingham over a decade ago.

“On behalf of the over 1,100 team members at Black’s Tire and BTS Tire & Wheel Distributors, we are honored to team up with Track Enterprises and Rockingham Speedway to bring NASCAR racing back to this historic track, said Rick Benton II, president Black’s Tire. “Black’s Tire is excited to be the title sponsor of the Black’s Tire 200. The Definitive Guide: How Often to Change Oil for Large Gasoline Engines

Are you confused about when and how often to change the oil in your large gasoline engines? You’re not alone. As a car owner, it’s important to take care of your engine with regular oil changes.

Yet, with so many different opinions out there, it’s hard to know what’s best. Don’t worry. This guide will give you clear, expert advice based on facts.

We’ll look at the factors that affect how often you should change your oil and help you understand the best schedule. Get ready to improve your engine care routine- your car will thank you!

Understanding the Importance of Oil Changes

Oil serves as the lifeblood of your engine, lubricating vital components to minimize friction and heat. Over time, engine oil breaks down, loses its viscosity, and can become contaminated with dirt and debris. Changing the oil regularly will:

  • Prevent engine wear and tear
  • Enhance fuel efficiency

How Often Should You Change Oil?

For large gasoline engines, the frequency of oil changes can vary based on different factors, including engine type, usage, and the environment. While some experts recommend every 3,000 miles, many modern engines can push this limit further, often ranging from 5,000 to 7,500 miles or more.

Consider the following factors when determining your oil change frequency:

Manufacturer’s Recommendations

Manufacturer recommendations usually provide specific oil change intervals tailored to their engine design. Following these guidelines will not only ensure optimal performance but may also help maintain any warranties.

Type of Oil Used

Using synthetic oil can extend your oil change interval. Many synthetic oils are engineered to last longer and resist breakdown under high temperatures. In contrast, conventional oils might require more frequent changes.

Driving Conditions

If your engines operate under heavy loads, in extreme temperatures, or in stop-and-go traffic, oil changes may be necessary sooner. In contrast, occasional long-distance driving on highways could allow for longer intervals.

The Process of Changing Oil

When it’s time for an oil change, following a systematic approach is essential. Here’s a quick outline of the process:

Gather Your Supplies

You’ll need new oil, a new oil filter, and the appropriate tools. Be sure to consult your owner’s manual for the correct oil type and quantity.

Drain the Old Oil

Begin by warming up the engine slightly, allowing the oil to thin out for easier drainage. Then, using a drain pan, remove the drain plug and let the oil empty fully. This can take several minutes.

Replace the Oil Filter

Remove the old oil filter and apply some new oil to the rubber gasket on the new filter before installing it. This helps to create a good seal and prevents any leaks.

Add New Oil

Reinstall the drain plug and use a funnel to add the fresh oil. Use the dipstick to verify the oil level, making sure it falls within the specified range.

If you’re unsure when to perform a car oil change for your specific engine, consulting a professional can provide clarity. Remember, a little effort goes a long way in extending your engine’s lifespan and optimizing its performance.

Learn When to Change Oil for Large Gasoline Engines

Regular oil changes are crucial for maintaining the performance and lifespan of large gasoline engines. With the guidelines outlined in this definitive guide, you can ensure that your engine is always running at its best.

Don’t neglect this important seasonal maintenance task – schedule your next oil change today and keep your engine running smoothly for years. Don’t wait. Give your engine the care it deserves.

Hocevar, a Portage, Mich., native earned top 2024 rookie honors on the strength of one top-five, six top-10 and 13 top-15 finishes. In his first full season at the controls of the No. 77 Chevrolet, Hocevar brought home a career best third-place finish in the Cup Series September visit to Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International. The 21-year-old impressed throughout his rookie campaign and was the top finishing rookie in 15 races on NASCAR’s senior circuit in 2024. He out-distanced his next closest competitor by a handsome 107-point advantage when the checkered flag fell on the season finale at Phoenix Raceway. Hocevar made his NCS debut for Spire Motorsports on June 4, 2023 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

“It’s exciting to carry the momentum from 2024 and winning the Cup Series rookie of the year into the off season by adding MINER to Spire Motorsports’ family of partners,” said Hocevar. “We’ve got a lot of great things happening and we’re already off to a good start. MINER is a great company, and we share the same commitment to performing at the highest level. It seems like we just wrapped last season but we’re full speed ahead for 2025.”

In its first season as a three-car operation in NASCAR’s premier division, Spire Motorsports campaigned the Nos. 7, 71 and 77 Chevrolets.
