CORVETTE RACING AT DAYTONA: Gearing Up for the Rolex

Five Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs from four teams set to open 2025 IMSA season

DETROIT (December 12, 2024) – Corvette Racing’s influence in the Rolex 24 At Daytona continues to grow with the release of the entry list for next month’s season-opening race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Five Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs are taking part in the 63rd running of the Rolex 24 on the road course at Daytona International Speedway – the largest number of production-based racing Corvettes in the race since 2007. A total of 18 drivers – seven of them Corvette factory pilots – will drive the Z06 GT3.R, which is starting its second season of global competition.

· Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports – GTD PRO: Antonio Garcia, Alexander Sims, Daniel Juncadella(No. 3 Corvette); Nicky Catsburg, Tommy Milner, Nico Varrone (No. 4 Corvette)

· AWA – GTD: Matt Bell, Orey Fidani, Lars Kern, Martin Kirchhoeffer (No. 13 Corvette)

· DXDT Racing – GTD: Charlie Eastwood, Alec Udell, Salih Yoluc, Pipo Derani (No. 36 Corvette)

· Trackhouse by TF Sport – GTD PRO: Ben Keating, Scott McLaughlin, Shane van Gisbergen, Connor Zilisch (No. 91 Corvette)

Each of the collection of Corvettes will participate in the three-day Roar Before the 24 the week before the Rolex.

The 2024 season was one of success and learning for the Corvette Z06 GT3.R and its teams. Among the highlights were 11 race victories in North America – one of which came from Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports – the Bob Akin Award (and an entry for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans) for AWA’s Fidani and the GTD PRO Manufacturers Championship in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.

In addition, DXDT Racing scored 10 victories in GT World Challenge America with the Corvette – including the Z06 GT3.R’s first global win – and TF Sport claimed a double-podium to close the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship.

The Corvette brand has a deep history at the Rolex 24 and includes four GT class victories – one of those an overall win in 2000.

Corvette Racing performance and powertrain engineers made significant improvements to the Z06 GT3.R throughout its first season of competition. Much of the work focused on optimizing performance and enhancing the Corvette’s reliability. The outright pace of the Corvette GT3 is evident with 12 pole positions across three series in 2024, and the reliability took huge steps forward in the second half of the year.

The Roar Before the 24 is set for January 17-19 with seven sessions scheduled across the three days. The Rolex 24 goes green at 1:40 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 25 with qualifying on Thursday, January 23.

CORVETTE RACING FACTORY DRIVER QUOTES

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 OSHKOSH / MOBIL 1 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “I am more anxious to race at Daytona than I have been in several years. There is a lot that everyone at Corvette Racing and Pratt Miller has going for us ahead of the Rolex 24. Obviously we expect a lot in the second year with the Z06 GT3.R after a win and some poles last year in IMSA. The other programs in WEC and World Challenge performed really well, especially in the second half of their seasons. The pace of the car is there, and I’m confident that so is the reliability. Our lineup should be very, very strong with having Alex and Dani having another year with this team. There are big reasons for us to be confident and I hope we can achieve our goal of winning another Rolex 24 in a Corvette.”

ALEXANDER SIMS, NO. 3 OSHKOSH / MOBIL 1 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “It’s going to be really nice to go into the season with an understanding of the team that I have around me and continuity having worked with Antonio and Dani. Knowing it will be the same this year is great, along with Andy Ramsey as our race engineer. We’ve built up a really good understanding together so I hope we can build on that, and I feel like we might be a little bit further down the road for the first few races in terms of our understanding of one another. It’s not going to create any massive differences in terms of performance but it’s nice from a personal point of view to have that nice working atmosphere of who you’re going to be with.”

DANI JUNCADELLA, NO. 3 OSHKOSH / MOBIL 1 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “Expectations are high for my second year in IMSA has a Corvette factory driver. Now that we have a full year of development of the Z06 GT3.R, it should make our life a lot easier. We finished the season with a test at Sebring which was really positive in all areas. I think we have a really good starting point for the season coming up. I can’t wait to go again. I love Daytona and starting the season with such a big event including the Roar and Rolex 24. I’m excited for that and to see how we fare against the competition.”

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 OSHKOSH / MOBIL 1 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “A year of racing… there’s no better test of a machine and driver than a full season of racing in IMSA. I feel like we’re not worried about or thinking about having a brand new car like we did at the start of 2024. We have a Corvette now that has had a full year’s worth of running in several series. It’s the same car with some smaller updates to make the car more comfortable to drive and more reliable. We’ve had that experience now and can focus on the things that are different this year, like the torque axle sensors. Luckily for us, the TF Sport guys and Corvette Racing in WEC have a year’s worth of experience with that. We’ll use that and all the knowledge that Corvette Racing and Pratt Miller have for Daytona and put that toward giving us the best chance to get a win.”

NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 4 OSHKOSH / MOBIL 1 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “For 2025, I have good hopes because I think we are a lot further along with the development and understanding of the Corvette than we were last year. So coming into the Daytona 24 Hours, I generally do believe that we have a chance to win it whereas last year was a little bit more of exploration of what the car would do and where we would be. But I do believe we have a serious shot. There are some changes from IMSA which to me are very positive. We can be a bit more focused again on racing the people we need to race. I’m personally a very big fan of that. I’m looking forward to some tough battles. I think we will have a full grid as well for Daytona.”

NICO VARRONE, NO. 4 OSHKOSH / MOBIL 1 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “I can’t express how happy I am to join the Corvette team again in IMSA, now with Pratt Miller. It’s exciting to be in the GTD PRO program and it gives me vibes of 2023 where we won the World Championship together in WEC. It’s my first time running in the U.S. in the GTD PRO car. It will be really special to represent Corvette in such an important series. There are a lot of fans at the races in America, so it will be super fun. I also get to share again the weekends with the mechanics and engineers that I know. I love all those people that make up the team, and I’m looking forward to giving my best and being in the best form of my life to bring the results that the Z06 GT3.R deserves. The car in its first year showed a lot of potential. Hopefully we can put it together in 2025 for some of these big race wins. It will be tough work to join Tommy and Nicky, but I think we have a great lineup to fight for big things. I’m super-excited and looking forward to it.”

CHARLIE EASTWOOD, NO. 36 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “I’m really looking forward to joining DXDT Racing. I think the lineup with have in GTD is as strong as any on paper. We had a strong test with the team at Daytona. There is an amazing bunch of guys and girls within the team. You can see why they had so much success in GT World Challenge America in 2024 because they have so many great qualities and so many great people working within the team. I was looking forward to the season before the test, and now I can’t wait to get started since the test. I think we have a really good chance to get some big results, which I’m gunning to make sure that I make sure to do in 2025 and my second year with Corvette.”

Wright Motorsports Unveils 2025 IMSA WeatherTech Championship Roster

BATAVIA, Ohio, (December 12, 2024) – Celebrating 25 years of excellence, Wright Motorsports is proud to announce its entry into the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. The team will field the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R with the dynamic duo of Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer returning as full-season drivers, joined by endurance specialists Tom Sargent and Ayhancan Güven.

“It’s a pleasure to have Adam and Elliott back for another season,” said Team Owner John Wright. “Their growth during their first IMSA WeatherTech season was remarkable, and they brought a great deal of energy to the team. Their victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway proved they have what it takes to excel in this highly competitive class, and we’re excited to build on that success in 2025.”

Adelson and Skeer showcased undeniable chemistry in their 2024 campaign, earning their first GTD-class podium at the grueling Twelve Hours of Sebring. They followed it with another third-place finish at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca before clinching their maiden WeatherTech victory at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The iconic road course also served as the location where they later secured the championship title together with Wright in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America championship. This year, they continue competing together for a full season in WeatherTech, racing in the 11-race championship.

Joining Adelson and Skeer for the Michelin Endurance Cup events, Tom Sargent brings a wealth of talent and a proven track record. The Australian driver progressed through karting and Formula Ford before entering North American sports car racing. A race winner in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America and the 2024 Fanatec GT World Challenge America series, Sargent will bolster the team’s efforts in endurance competition.

Rounding out the roster, Ayhancan Güven will join the lineup for the Rolex 24 At Daytona. The 26-year-old Turkish driver began his motorsport journey in karting before transitioning to sim racing and earning a place as a Porsche Junior driver in 2019. Güven holds multiple titles, including championships in the Porsche Carrera Cup France, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux, and the Asian Le Mans Series. The Rolex 24 will mark his debut with Wright Motorsports.

The 2025 season launches with the Roar Before the 24 on January 17, the official pre-season test for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The iconic Rolex 24 At Daytona, the longest race on the calendar, follows on January 25-26. For more information, visit IMSA.com.

DRIVER QUOTES

Adam Adelson

Coming into Daytona this year for the second time is a totally different feeling. Last year, we had no idea what to expect during the IMSA season, but we quickly found that the preparation we did was paying off. This year we actually know what to expect and can rely on that experience to try and bring home even better results. Aside from that, I’m beyond excited to be racing with Tom and Ayancan, who are both exceptional talents. We may have one of the youngest driver lineups in the field, but with that comes plenty of motivation and hunger for success on track.

Elliott Skeer

I’m thrilled to be back racing with Adam again and building on the incredible chemistry we’ve developed on and off the track. This season, we’re ready to give it a proper championship fight and push ourselves to a new level. I’m equally excited to welcome Tom to the team and help him get up to speed in IMSA. Ayhancan is a fantastic pick for the lineup, and his experience in the car will be a huge asset for Daytona. Together, we’re poised for an amazing year, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish!

Tom Sargent

To say I am excited to be driving in the #120 Wright Motorsports Porsche in the IMSA WeatherTech series is an understatement. Making my IMSA debut, and with such a well-established and successful team, is my dream start to this championship. To be able to partner with Adam and Elliot for the endurance rounds, and for them to put their confidence in me to do my side of the job is extremely encouraging for the work I have put in to get here.

Ayhancan Guven

I’m excited to join Wright Motorsports for my Rolex 24 At Daytona debut. It’s the best way to start the new motorsport year. With the team and lineup, we have, we should definitely aim for the class win. I can’t wait to meet and work together with the crew towards a successful weekend.

Chris Lawson named crew chief for Todd Gilliland for 2025 Cup Series season

Chris Lawson has been named crew chief for Todd Gilliland and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports (FRM) Ford Mustang Dark Horse team for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season.

The news comes as Lawson, a former racer turned crew chief from Medway, Ohio, spent this past season as a Cup Series crew chief for Rick Ware Racing’s No. 51 Ford Mustang Dark Horse entry that was split between Justin Haley and Corey LaJoie. Through the first 29-scheduled events of the 2024 season, Haley recorded two top-10 results. Following a midseason driver swap between Rick Ware Racing and Spire Motorsports, LaJoie replaced Haley and piloted the No. 51 entry for the remaining seven events on the schedule. At the conclusion of the 2024 season, the No. 51 Rick Ware Racing entry settled in 34th place in the final owner’s standings.

Lawson, who made his crew chief debut during the 2018 Craftsman Truck Series season for DGR-Crosley, first joined FRM in 2020 when he was paired with Gilliland and the No. 38 Ford F-150 team. Over the next four seasons, Lawson would notch six victories while working with Gilliland and Zane Smith. During the 2022 season, Lawson achieved his first NASCAR championship as a crew chief when Smith fended off the competition during an overtime shootout to win the finale at Phoenix Raceway. The championship would also mark the first for both Smith and FRM.

Prior to the 2024 season, Lawson made his debut as a Cup Series crew chief for Gilliland and the No. 36 FRM Ford team at Talladega Superspeedway, where Gilliland finished 10th. Through 36 appearances as a Cup Series crew chief, Lawson has recorded three top-10 results and has worked with four different competitors as both he and Gilliland strive to notch their first victory in NASCAR’s premier series in 2025. The duo had previously achieved back-to-back ARCA Menards Series West championships between the 2016 and 2017 seasons while competing for Bill McAnally Racing.

For the 2025 Cup Series season, Lawson and Gilliland replace crew chief Travis Peterson and driver Michael McDowell. The latter duo are set to join Spire Motorsports after spending this past season notching a season-high six poles, seven top-10 results and an average-finishing result of 21.3 with FRM’s No. 34 team.

The remainder of Front Row Motorsports’ driver and crew chief lineup remains to be determined.

The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season for crew chief Chris Lawson, driver Todd Gilliland and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford Mustang Dark Horse team is scheduled to commence with the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on February 2 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX. This event will be followed by the 67th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway that is scheduled to occur on February 16 at 2:30 p.m. ET on FOX.

Can You Really Remove Content from the Internet? A Practical Guide

Common Misconceptions About Content Removal

The internet never forgets. Or does it? Many believe that once something is online, it’s there forever. This isn’t entirely true, but the story is more complicated than just hitting “delete.” Businesses and individuals alike can remove some content, but it depends on a variety of factors. Let’s clear up some common myths and look at what you can realistically expect when trying to clean up your online presence.

Myth 1: Everything Can Be Deleted

Many people think that content can be erased easily if you own it or if it’s about you. But the internet isn’t a magic chalkboard where you can wipe away everything you don’t like. Public forums, news websites, and even social media platforms have rules and structures that make removing content tricky. Even if you delete a post or a page, there’s often a copy or screenshot floating around.

So, can you remove content from the internet? The answer is yes—but only sometimes, and not without some effort. Understanding the type of content and where it lives makes all the difference.

Types of Content and How They Affect Removal

The type of content you’re trying to remove is crucial. Here are a few examples:

  • Personal social media posts: These are the easiest to handle. If you posted it, you can remove it. But once someone shares or screenshots it, control starts slipping away.
  • News articles and public records: This is harder. Media outlets rarely take down articles unless they contain factual errors or defamation.
  • Reviews and forum posts: Deleting negative reviews or forum content usually requires contacting the platform. Even then, most sites won’t remove content without strong evidence of rule violations.

Why Internet Content Is So Hard to Remove

The Nature of the Internet

The internet was designed to share and replicate information quickly. Once content is posted, it’s backed up, cached, and saved in multiple locations. Removing it from the original source may not erase all copies. For instance, Google caches website pages and can show them even after the original post has been taken down. Cached pages usually update after some time, but it’s a waiting game.

A study found that 62% of people were able to find cached or archived versions of content that had been deleted. This means getting rid of content involves more than just taking down one post—it’s about knowing where else it could live.

Practical Steps for Removing Content

1. Remove or Edit Your Own Content

Start with the simplest step. If you own the content, log in and delete it. However, double-check if anyone has shared or reposted it. Try to get those shared versions taken down, too.

Pro tip: Editing the content instead of outright deleting it can sometimes help limit its spread. When you edit a post, it usually won’t trigger backups or cache updates as quickly.

2. Contact the Website Owner

If the content is on someone else’s website, reach out to the site owner or administrator. Be polite and clear about why you want it taken down. If it violates copyright or is defamatory, mention that, as those are legitimate reasons for removal.

3. Use Content Removal Services

There are companies that specialize in helping businesses and individuals clean up their online presence. These services, like erase.com, can guide you through more complicated removal processes or help manage difficult cases. They understand the legal and procedural hoops to jump through, saving you time and frustration.

If the content is defamatory or breaks any laws, consider filing a legal removal request. Search engines like Google have forms for removing content under certain circumstances, such as legal violations or personal safety risks. Keep in mind that legal action can be time-consuming and expensive.

Quick stat: Google receives hundreds of thousands of removal requests each year, and not all are granted. A well-crafted legal case is essential if you choose this path.

Limitations to Content Removal

Archived and Cached Pages

Websites like the Wayback Machine archive millions of pages from across the web. These pages are public and don’t update when the original content is deleted. While you can request removals from archive sites, it’s not guaranteed. Cached versions on search engines work the same way. They eventually update, but not on demand.

Social Media Shares and Screenshots

Even if you successfully get original content removed, shared posts and screenshots may still exist. For example, a controversial tweet might be taken down, but thousands of people could have taken screenshots and shared them elsewhere. Managing this ripple effect is nearly impossible.

Data Brokers and Aggregator Sites

Your personal or business information might be sold or shared by data brokers and aggregation sites. Removing data from these services takes patience. Each company has its own opt-out process, and they don’t always make it easy. Persistence is key here, but it’s a long game.

What You Can Do to Control Future Content

1. Create Positive Content

One way to manage your online image is to publish positive, engaging content regularly. This practice helps push down unwanted content in search results. When search engines find new, active content that matches your name or business, it can overshadow negative results.

2. Stay Aware of What’s Posted About You

Set up Google Alerts for your name or business. This free tool notifies you when new content appears online that matches your set terms. Being proactive helps you address issues early.

3. Emphasize Privacy Settings

Review your privacy settings on all social media platforms and any websites where you post. Control who can see your content, and set strong passwords to prevent unauthorized access or hacking.

4. Encourage Customers to Post Honest Reviews

Not all negative reviews can be removed, but authentic positive reviews can help balance the picture. If you run a business, encourage happy customers to share their experiences. This helps build trust and improve your overall online reputation.

Final Thoughts

So, can you remove content from the internet? Sometimes, yes. But it’s often complicated and depends on what you’re dealing with. Understand the type of content, where it’s posted, and whether it’s been shared. Simple actions like deleting a post are possible, but other cases need persistence, expert help, or even legal measures. While you may not control everything online, you can take steps to manage your online image. And remember, services like erase.com can be a lifeline when navigating tricky content removal situations.

Keep this guide in your back pocket next time you need a little help cleaning up your corner of the web.
