Following a long layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Corvette Racing makes its return to competition this weekend at the same place the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship began. Daytona International Raceway is the site of Saturday’s WeatherTech 240 and Corvette Racing’s second IMSA event this season.
The NASCAR Cup and NASCAR XFINITY Series return to action this weekend at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. For the first time, the speedway’s infield road course will be used to host a NASCAR event as the XFINITY Series races there on Saturday, followed by the Cup drivers on the historic oval one day later.
With the uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus and the impact on the industry, this year’s NASCAR Champion’s Week and NASCAR Cup Series Awards originally scheduled to take place in Nashville will not occur.
Kevin Harvick won the Pocono Organics 325 on Saturday, earning his third race win of the season and first career win at Pocono Raceway. Stewart-Haas Racing recorded their 22nd Cup win since rejoining Ford Motor Co. while Harvick leads the organization with 17 Ford wins.

John Hunter Nemechek started the second of this weekend's doubleheader races at Pocono Raceway in 24th place. Shortly after taking the green flag, the race was paused for 50 minutes due to rain.
In the second race of the Pocono doubleheader weekend, Michael McDowell and his No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford Mustang took the green flag from the 13th position.
The 19-year-old Zilisch from Charlotte, North Carolina, was awarded the pole position for Saturday's Fourth of July event at Chicagoland due to inclement weather forcing NASCAR to replace qualifying with practice.
