Following a hard hit to the inside wall on the last lap of the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway, Denny Hamlin will remain in hospital overnight for observation.
In what turned out to be the best finish in the history of Auto Club Speedway, Tony Stewart seems to have contracted situation amnesia. In the final restart Joey Logano, running second at the time, had to "peddle" the throttle to keep from beating leader Kyle Busch back to the line. Stewart who was lined up behind Logano, ducked to the inside and attempted to go three wide and have get a shot at the win.
When the field took the white flag, everybody knew that it'd be a finish for the ages. After all, it was Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano battling side-by-side for the win. The pair had a run-in the previous week at Bristol Motor Speedway that included some words after the race.

Kyle Busch won the 15th Annual NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Royal Purple 300. This was Busch's sixth victory and 12th top-10 finish in 15 races at Auto Club Speedway.
