With the conclusion of the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Chevrolet clinched the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Manufacturers’ Championship. It marks the 12th consecutive year and 38th time overall that the Bowtie Brand has won the prestigious title in NASCAR’s premiere series. It is the second Manufacturers’ award for the Chevrolet SS race car.

In a storybook finish to conclude a revamped Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Kevin Harvick won the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway Sunday to claim his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.

JOEY LOGANO, No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Fusion (PIT ROAD INTERVIEW) – “It was a heck of a race up there. I screwed up and hit the wall early and we were able to recover then had the mistake on pit road which didn’t give us enough time to recover from that. It is unfortunate. Execution was our strong point all year and we just didn’t do it tonight. For that reason we finished fourth after I think we scored the most points this whole Chase."

While Goodyear is celebrating the end of the season in Homestead, pronouncing it a ‘good year’, they are already manufacturing tires for the New Year and preparing for new season testing.

A total of 22 Team Chevy drivers will start the Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 267-lap event is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m., ET and will air live on ESPN, MRN Radio, Sirius/XM Radio Channel 90 and www.nascar.com.

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - What happened at the end of the practice session? "Just trying to get a tire sheet late and missed the line and went through the grass. It was pretty exciting for a little while."

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Fusion, spoke with Ford Racing following the final Cup practice session Saturday afternoon at Homestead Miami Speedway. Logano finished seventh in the final session, fastest among the Championship 4, and spoke about his team’s final preparations and what the next 24 hours look like.

DO YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE BALANCE OF THE CAR AFTER THE TWO PRACTICE SESSIONS TODAY? “Yeah, we struggled getting the balance right. And I don’t think we’ve really hit it exactly where we need it to be yet. So, we’ll go back through the stuff that everybody did on our cars and definitely try to improve for tomorrow.”

For Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 23 DipYourCar.com Toyota for BK Racing, this season has been one of firsts and lasts. One of those firsts, in the last race of the season, is that he is competing at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the very first time in his career.
