Legendary NASCAR team owner Richard Childress was inducted into the National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame last night at a gala event in Concord, N.C.

RICK HENDRICK, OWNER OF HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS, was the guest on the NASCAR Weekly Teleconference.

Denny Hamlin finished second in Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway, leading four times for 56 laps to take the checkered flag behind winner Jimmie Johnson.

Soon after Regan Smith took the checkered flag to win the 2011 Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway one of the first thoughts that came to his mind was that he had just qualified for the prestigious Sprint All-Star Race.

While Joey Logano will be looking to race his way into the NASCAR Sprint All Star Race on Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway, he also knows he’ll have his legions of fans to once again help him out if needed. The top-two finishers of the Sprint Showdown will automatically move into the Sprint All Star Race.

The Sprint Showdown will be BK Racing's first taste of non-points racing. Landon Cassill, driver of the Burger King/Dr Pepper Toyota, has fought to keep his No. 83 team inside the top-35 of the owner point standings since the squad's formation in February.

Travis Kvapil, driver of the No. 93 Dr Pepper Toyota, will be one of 22 drivers vying to earn a spot in the Sprint All-Star Race atCharlotte Motor Speedway. Kvapil's plan for finishing in a transfer position of the Sprint Showdown is simple: start up front and stay up front.

Kenseth finished sixth at Darlington, posting his seventh top 10 of the year. He is second in the Sprint Cup point standings, and now trails leader Greg Biffle by two points.
