BRISTOL 101: ULTIMATE GUIDE TO AN UNFORGETTABLE FIRST NASCAR EXPERIENCE AT BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY

It's always fun to cheer on your favorite driver and team during the crown jewel Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Cup Series Playoff visit to Bristol Motor Speedway, Sept. 13, is a Round of 16 elimination race, where the field will be cut from 16 to 12.

BRISTOL, Tenn. (July 16, 2025) – There’s a reason they call it “The Last Great Colosseum.” From the moment you approach Bristol Motor Speedway, you can feel the energy building. The thunderous roar of engines, the palpable excitement of the crowd, and the electrifying atmosphere that pulses through the rolling Tennessee hills—Bristol is truly in a league of its own.

If you’re a first-timer gearing up for a NASCAR weekend at this iconic track, like the upcoming Bass Pro Shops Night Race, Sept. 11-13, this comprehensive guide is for you. It will ensure your debut is nothing short of legendary.

What to Wear: Comfort, Spirit, and Practicality

Your wardrobe choices at Bristol are a blend of personal comfort, fan spirit, and practical preparedness. This is a high-energy environment with an incredibly passionate fanbase, so don’t hold back on showing your allegiance! Below are some tips to make sure you have both style and maneuverability covered.

Team Gear, All the Way: Whether you’re proudly sporting a driver’s jersey, a comfortable team t-shirt, or a classic NASCAR hat, displaying your support is an integral part of the Bristol experience. The crowd’s enthusiasm is contagious, and joining in with your favorite colors only amplifies the fun.

Layer Up for Mountain Evenings: Even if the daytime temperatures are balmy, evenings in the mountains can cool down surprisingly quickly, especially during the thrilling night races. A light hoodie, a versatile jacket, or a comfortable fleece is a smart addition to your bag, allowing you to adapt to temperature changes and stay comfortable throughout the event.

Sturdy Shoes are Non-Negotiable: You’ll be doing a lot of walking, from expansive parking lots to bustling campgrounds and in the grandstands. While BMS provides a lot of courtesy golf carts and van shuttles for fans throughout the property and elevators in most sections of the grandstands, you will still need to be prepared for some walking. Prioritize comfort and stability by opting for broken-in sneakers, supportive athletic shoes, or durable boots. Leave the flip-flops and open-toed sandals at home; your feet will thank you.

Essential Ear Protection: Let’s be clear: Bristol Motor Speedway is LOUD. The raw power of NASCAR engines echoing within the concrete Colosseum creates an exhilarating, but intense, sound experience. Invest in a good pair of earplugs or noise-reducing headphones, especially if you’re attending with children. Protecting your hearing is crucial for enjoying the race without discomfort.

Sun Protection is Key: Day races, tailgating sessions, and general outdoor enjoyment mean significant sun exposure. Don’t forget high-SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. A wide-brimmed hat (in addition to your team cap) and quality sunglasses will also shield your face and eyes, ensuring you stay comfortable and focused on the action.

What to Bring: Pack Like a Pro

The right gear can elevate your race day from good to absolutely fantastic. Thoughtful packing ensures you’re prepared for anything the Bristol experience throws your way.

First things first: OK, don’t get in such a rush leaving your house that you forget your tickets or parking pass, especially if they are printed on paper. If you have them in your phone digitally, don’t forget your phone! And also, make sure to remember what time the race starts. Trust us, you don’t want to be late!!

The Clear Bag Policy: Bristol Motor Speedway, like many major sports and entertainment venues, enforces a clear bag policy for security purposes. To ensure a smooth entry at the gate, bring a clear backpack or tote bag that adheres to the size restrictions (typically up to 12″x6″x12″). This keeps security checks quick and hassle-free.

Seat Cushion or Stadium Seat: Your Back’s Best Friend: OK, let’s be honest. The excitement is so incredible that you may be doing more standing than sitting in your reserved seat in the grandstands. The metal bleachers at Bristol, while providing incredible views, may become a bit uncomfortable to some during long races. We would recommend that you bring a portable seat cushion or a small stadium seat with a backrest to the race. Either will make a world of difference in your comfort levels while seated, allowing you to fully enjoy every lap.

Scanner or Race App for Real-Time Updates: If you want the fully immersive fan experience, a race scanner allows you to tune into driver-to-crew communications, offering valuable insights into race strategy, tire management, and on-track incidents. Alternatively, downloading the official NASCAR and BMS apps on your smartphone provides real-time race stats, driver updates, and live leaderboards.

Cooling Towel or Mist Fan for Summer Races: If you’re attending a summer race, the heat can be intense. A cooling towel, dampened and draped around your neck, or a small, battery-operated mist fan can provide much-needed relief and help you stay comfortable in the stands.

Snacks & Sealed Water Bottles: Stay Hydrated and Fueled: You are permitted to bring in your own food and unopened, non-alcoholic beverages in a soft-sided cooler (typically no larger than 14″x14″x14″). This is a fantastic way to save money and ensure you have your preferred snacks and drinks. Staying hydrated is paramount, so pack plenty of sealed water bottles.

What to Know: Navigate Bristol Like a Veteran

A little pre-race knowledge goes a long way in making your first Bristol experience seamless and enjoyable.

Arrive Early, Always: This cannot be stressed enough. Traffic leading into Bristol Motor Speedway, especially for the crown jewel Bass Pro Shops Night Race, can back up significantly. Plan to arrive several hours before the green flag drops. This gives you ample time to navigate parking, explore the bustling midway with its vendors and fan zone experiences, and simply soak in the electrifying atmosphere before the main event.

Plan Your Parking Strategy: If you haven’t pre-purchased a parking pass (which is highly recommended for convenience), consult the official Bristol Motor Speedway map online for available lots and shuttle information. Be prepared for a potentially longer walk if you opt for free parking options, which are often located further away from the track.

Souvenir Playbill Program: Bristol offers a limited number of free printed Playbill style souvenir programs. You can keep up with the entry lists and find out more information about what’s going on during the weekend. Don’t worry, if you can’t find a printed version, the program is also available digitally. Ask any customer service location, or check the BMS website to find the link to download or view the digital program.

Colossus TV: No, that’s not a space ship hanging in the middle of the track. It’s a massive center-hung television big screen that will assist in your enjoyment of the race. No matter where you are seated in the venue, Colossus TV will be there to give you a quick replay or a better of view of the action down in turn four.

Download the Essential Apps: Before you even leave home, download the official NASCAR app and the Bristol Motor Speedway app. These invaluable tools provide up-to-the-minute schedules, detailed maps of the facility, live driver updates, and general information that will enhance your visit.

Check out the Fan Zone: Located at Entrance 1, the BMS Fan Zone is filled with plenty of fun experiences, many of them interactive. You can throw axes, play cornhole, drive a NASCAR simulator, and enjoy interviews from drivers and other newsmakers and take in some great music from the Food City Fan Zone Stage.

Embrace the Bristol Tradition: Bristol fans are legendary for their passion, friendliness, and unwavering loyalty. Don’t be shy! Join in the traditional chants, strike up conversations with your neighbors in the stands or campgrounds, and don’t hesitate to ask questions if you’re unsure about anything. The Bristol community is welcoming and eager to share their love for the sport.

Tailgating is a Way of Life: The pre-race party in the parking lots and campgrounds is as much a part of the Bristol experience as the race itself. Whether you’re setting up a full-blown RV campsite with elaborate grills or simply enjoying some car-side refreshments, the tailgating scene is vibrant and adds another layer of fun to your race weekend.

It’s an Unforgettable Sensory Experience: Your first Bristol race will be a sensory overload in the best possible way: loud, wild, and truly unforgettable. With a bit of strategic planning and the right gear in tow, you’ll quickly feel like a seasoned fan.

So, grab your cooler, throw on your favorite driver’s gear, and get ready for one of the greatest, most thrilling shows in motorsports. Bristol awaits!

Georgetown Speedway, Camp Barnes Partner with BRK Racing and NASCAR Driver Garrett Smithley to Spotlight Delaware Youth Program at Dover

GEORGETOWN, DE — Delaware dirt racing is heading to the national stage with a meaningful message. Georgetown Speedway and Camp Barnes are proud to announce a partnership with BRK Racing and NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Garrett Smithley to bring awareness to one of Delaware’s most impactful youth programs during the BetRivers 200 at Dover Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Smithley will carry the Georgetown Speedway and Camp Barnes logos aboard his No. 14 Chevrolet Camaro, as the team uses this national platform to highlight the upcoming Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race, scheduled for Thursday, July 31 at Georgetown Speedway.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with BRK Racing and Garrett Smithley on this national stage to spotlight a cause that means so much to our community,” said Ken Adams and Jim Parker, co-owners of Georgetown Speedway, in a joint statement. “The Camp Barnes Benefit Race is a cornerstone of our season, and this partnership helps amplify its mission and the positive impact it has on families across Delaware.”

The Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race is a long-standing annual event that raises funds for Camp Barnes, a free summer camp operated by the Delaware State Police for children ages 10–13. Located near Bethany Beach and in operation since 1947, Camp Barnes serves more than 600 kids each year, offering week-long camp experiences that include archery, fishing, swimming, arts & crafts, nature walks, and more — all while building positive relationships between youth and law enforcement.

Detective Jeff Hudson, Director of Camp Barnes, expressed his excitement about the new collaboration. “The camp is honored and thrilled to be represented on a national stage like the NASCAR Xfinity Series,” Hudson said. “This opportunity helps us reach people who may not know what Camp Barnes is or how it’s changing lives. We’re grateful to Garrett, BRK Racing, and Georgetown Speedway for helping us tell that story.”

Garrett Smithley, a veteran of more than 150 Xfinity Series starts, is no stranger to short tracks and grassroots racing.

“Racing has always been about community for me,” said Smithley. “So to represent Georgetown Speedway and help support Camp Barnes — a place doing real good for kids — is something I take seriously. I’m proud to carry their logos and mission on the No. 14 car at Dover.”

The BetRivers 200 will be broadcast live on The CW, bringing the message and the mission of Camp Barnes to a nationwide audience from right here in Delaware.

Young’s Motorsports Welcomes Lanita Specialized for Dover Motor Speedway Xfinity Battle

MOORESVILLE, N.C.: Young’s Motorsports proudly announced today a new partnership with Lanita Specialized, a family-owned transportation company based in Aetna, Pennsylvania, specializing in truckload and less-than-truckload shipping.

Lanita Specialized will support the team’s NASCAR Xfinity Series effort this weekend, serving as the primary partner on Anthony Alfredo’s No. 42 Chevrolet for Saturday’s BetRivers 200 at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway.

With this announcement, Lanita Specialized becomes the eighth different company to partner with Young’s Motorsports and Alfredo in the Xfinity Series this season.

Founded in 1997, Lanita Specialized provides truckload and LTL transportation. We service the needs of our customers with professional and qualified drivers.

We take pride in our equipment and handle your freight with the same amount of care and in a timely manner.

Our transportation services are designed to meet your needs and expectations at affordable prices.

Based on the principles of integrity, respect, quality, and family, Lanita Specialized serves the lower 48 states for your transportation needs. We are equipped with multiple bays for tractor and trailer maintenance or repairs.

“I’m proud to welcome Lanita Specialized to our Xfinity program for Dover this weekend,” said Anthony Alfredo.

“They play a huge role in the trucking industry, moving essential equipment and materials that keep everything running behind the scenes.

“It’s great to have a company like that not only support our No. 42 team but also be such an important part of the Young’s Motorsports family.”

Alfredo, a well-liked figure in the NASCAR Xfinity Series garage, is set to make his sixth career start at the famed “Monster Mile” on July 19. He returns to the 1.0-mile concrete oval riding the momentum of his best Dover performance to date, a ninth-place finish last year after starting 21st.

Young’s Motorsports, also a family-owned organization, will make its second Xfinity Series start at Dover Motor Speedway. The team aims to improve on its 21st-place result from last April, when rookie Leland Honeyman Jr. drove the No. 42 Chevrolet entry.

“I’ve always enjoyed racing at Dover Motor Speedway, and I’m excited to head back there with the Young’s Motorsports team this weekend,” said Alfredo. “We’ve had a lot of speed in our race cars lately, but unfortunately, the results haven’t always reflected that.

“Dover is an excellent opportunity for me to go after back-to-back top-10 finishes and help give our No. 42 Young’s Motorsports team some well-welcomed momentum.”

NASCAR returns to Dover Motor Speedway where the Cup Series and Xfinity Series will take on the “Monster Mile.” NHRA heads to the Pacific Northwest and Pacific Raceways just outside Seattle as the second half of the 2025 season begins. Formula DRIFT is back in action at World Wide Technology Raceway and the GR Cup Series makes its long-awaited return to the race track this weekend at Virginia International Raceway (VIR).

NASCAR National Series – NCS/NXS

Three Camrys make up Final Four of In-Season Challenge … With two rounds remaining in the NASCAR Cup Series’ In-Season Challenge, three of the four drivers remaining are Toyota Camry XSEs – Ty Gibbs, John Hunter Nemechek and Tyler Reddick. Gibbs and Reddick will face each other for the right to compete for the challenge title and the $1 million purse at Indianapolis Motor Speedway next weekend, while Nemechek will take on Ty Dillon in hopes of securing an all-Toyota finale.

Hamlin seeks Dover repeat … Denny Hamlin put on a masterclass in the spring of 2024 to capture his second win at Dover Motor Speedway last year. This weekend, he returns to the “Monster Mile” seeking his third triumph at the track and his fourth victory of the 2025 Cup Series season. Hamlin has garnered plenty of success at Dover with eight top-fives and 16 top-10s in 34 previous starts to go along with the two victories.

Reddick continuing strong finishes … Reddick and his No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE team enter this weekend at Dover Motor Speedway with three straight top-10s finishes, which came at Atlanta, Chicago and Sonoma. He looks to add a fourth consecutive top-10 this weekend at Dover where he’s accrued two top-10s previously. Sawalich coming off career-best run … Last weekend’s race at Sonoma was a career day for Toyota Development Driver William Sawalich as he piloted his No. 18 Toyota GR Supra to the third finishing position – the best of his young Xfinity Series career. The Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) driver makes his Xfinity Series debut at Dover this weekend after two previous ARCA Menards Series East starts at the track in 2023 and 2024, where he sat on pole for both events.

NASCAR Regional Series – ARCA Menards Series National/East

Crews returns to JGR No. 18 … For the third time this season, Toyota Development Driver Brent Crews will pilot the No. 18 Toyota Camry for JGR in ARCA competition, this time taking on Dover Motor Speedway. Crews has two ARCA wins so far this season – Phoenix (West) and Rockingham (National, East) – heading into this weekend and will make his second career start at the “Monster Mile.”

NHRA – Top Fuel/Funny Car

Ashley goes for three straight victories … Heading to Pacific Raceways this weekend, Justin Ashley aims for a third straight victory in Top Fuel after wins in the last two NHRA events at Richmond and Norwalk. These victories have inched the driver of the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel Dragster closer to the Top Fuel points lead as he currently sits in the third position, 77 points behind the leader, and just 25 points behind Toyota teammate Shawn Langdon who’s in second. Ashley also seeks his second career victory in Seattle this weekend after being triumphant in 2022.

Formula DRIFT

Aasbø seeks to hold championship lead … Halfway through the 2025 Formula DRIFT season, Toyota’s Fredric Aasbø is the current PRO category points leader, holding a 20-point lead over second place heading to this weekend’s event at World Wide Technology Raceway. The victory at Sonoma was his seventh consecutive top-five finish, an impressive streak that began at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May. His average finish in those seven races is a sizzling 2.42.

Connor Zilisch

“I won the ARCA race at Dover last year and I really enjoy the track. It’s a high-banked, high-grip, concrete track that changes a lot throughout a run so we’ll have to stay on top of it. Noah Gragson Notes

After two weeks of road course racing, Noah Gragson will return to oval racing as the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Dover, Delaware for a 400-lap race at the Dover Motor Speedway. In seven Xfinity Series starts at the one-mile concrete oval, Gragson has two top-five and five top-10 finishes. In two Cup Series starts at the track, Gragson has one top-10 finish, finishing sixth in the No. 10 Ford with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2024.

MillerTech powers back onto the No. 4 Ford Mustang Dark Horse this weekend at Dover Motor Speedway for its final primary race of the season in the NASCAR Cup Series. As a premium lithium battery brand, MillerTech brings performance, reliability, and innovation to the track—qualities that align perfectly with the spirit of competition. Gragson will look to build on last year’s success at the “Monster Mile,” where he drove the MillerTech scheme to an impressive sixth-place finish.

“While the road courses are fun, the last two races haven’t been, so I’m excited to go back to oval racing this weekend,” said Gragson. “The team and I are feeling pretty confident knowing we finished in the top-10 last year, but it’s going to come down to being careful in who we race around so we don’t end up wrecked.”

23XI Intersect Presented by Xfinity Kicks Off Brickyard Race Weekend in Indianapolis on July 25

DJ Envy to headline event blending the worlds of racing, music, culture, and community

Huntersville, N.C. (July 16, 2025) – 23XI Racing announced today that DJ Envy, music producer and co-host of the iconic radio show, The Breakfast Club, will headline 23XI Intersect presented by Xfinity set to take place on July 25 in Indianapolis, Ind., ahead of the Brickyard 400 race weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The free and open-to-the-public event is an immersive experience in Bicentennial Plaza outside of Gainbridge Fieldhouse, blending racing, music, culture, and community. With a founding mission of making the sport more inclusive and welcoming, Intersect is set to introduce new fans to 23XI and racing through a completely fresh lens.

Following last year’s event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, 23XI Intersect presented by Xfinity has expanded significantly. What began as primarily a car show now includes appearances by 23XI drivers Bubba Wallace, Tyler Reddick, and Riley Herbst, along with activations and experiences designed to give both committed and curious race fans a unique perspective on 23XI and what a race team can be. In addition to a featured performance by DJ Envy, an avid car collector, car enthusiast, and Monster Energy artist, attendees at the event will also experience hands-on activations from numerous 23XI partners.

Xfinity, the presenting partner, will have its Boomin’ Burnout experience on hand, allowing guests to virtually experience the thrill of victory burnouts without the grueling work of winning a race. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to test their skills behind the wheel in racing simulators provided by Logitech G. Always a fan favorite, 23XI partner McDonald’s will be on-site with their McRig mobile kitchen for guests to sample popular menu items.

It wouldn’t be a NASCAR experience without some serious horsepower. Team partner Toyota will display several one-of-a-kind vehicles, including a not-yet-in-production prototype and two vehicles previously displayed at SEMA. Indianapolis Motor Speedway will also bring specially-wrapped show cars to promote the upcoming Brickyard 400. Shady Rays, the official sunglasses provider of 23XI, will also feature an on-site pop-up shop. Additionally, the United States Air Force will have a recruiting tent at the event to speak with those interested in military service.

Following the event, attention will turn to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the NASCAR Cup Series will race in Sunday’s Brickyard 400. Fans who attend 23XI Intersect presented by Xfinity will receive a voucher for a ticket to the race, providing an opportunity to experience the excitement of 23XI and NASCAR in person.

More exciting artists and activations are being added, so stay tuned for further information. For event registration, please click here.

“Since our founding five years ago, our team has been committed to growing motorsports and reaching fans wherever they may be,” said 23XI VP of Marketing Jamie Ruiz. “Intersect is a great opportunity for 23XI to expose a wider audience to our team and racing. Through engaging activations with our partners and exciting performances, we look forward to making new fans and providing a great experience for our avid fans.”

“23XI has done a great job over the years of thinking of new and creative ways to reach out to our fans and anyone who might be interested in our sport,” said Bubba Wallace, driver of the No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE. “Intersect is another great opportunity for us to show off the excitement of racing and highlight that there’s a place for everyone in NASCAR.”

“Our fans help make 23XI who we are and I’m excited to introduce our team to a new audience that can continue to help make 23XI unique,” said Tyler Reddick, driver of the No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE. “We want everyone to see that there’s more to our team than just what happens on raceday, and Intersect will be a great event that shows a different side of who we are.”

“As the newest member of the team at 23XI, I’ve been impressed by how our team connects with fans,” said Riley Herbst, driver of the No. 35 Toyota Camry XSE and former winner at IMS in the Xfinity Series. “Indy is a great sports town and a place that supports racing, so we’re looking forward to those fans bringing a lot of energy to Intersect.”

About 23XI Racing
23XI Racing – pronounced twenty-three eleven – was founded by NBA legend Michael Jordan and three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin in 2020. With rising NASCAR star Bubba Wallace selected to drive the No. 23 Toyota Camry, the team made its NASCAR Cup Series debut in the 2021 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Wallace made history on October 4, 2021, when he captured his first career Cup Series win, becoming just the second African American to win in the Cup Series, and earning 23XI its first-ever victory. 23XI expanded to a two-car organization in 2022 with Cup Series Champion Kurt Busch driving the No. 45 Toyota Camry. With a win at Kansas Speedway in May of 2022, Busch earned 23XI the team’s first-ever playoff berth. In 2024, Tyler Reddick won the Regular Season Championship and raced to a spot in the Championship 4, a first for both the team and Reddick. 23XI currently features the lineup of Bubba Wallace in the No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE, Tyler Reddick in the No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE, Riley Herbst in the No. 35 Toyota Camry XSE and Corey Heim as the team’s development driver. The team operates out of Airspeed, a state-of-the-art facility in Huntersville, N.C. that opened in January of 2024.

Joey Logano to make 600th Cup career start at Dover

In his quest to defend his NASCAR Cup Series championship and win a fourth overall, Joey Logano is on the verge of achieving a milestone start. By competing in this weekend’s fourth In-Season Tournament event of the year at Dover Motor Speedway, the driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford Mustang Dark Horse entry will make his 600th career start in NASCAR’s premier series.

A native of Middletown, Connecticut, Logano made his Cup Series debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September 2008. By then, he was campaigning on a part-time basis for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) in the Xfinity Series. He also became the youngest winner in the series after winning at Kentucky Speedway three months earlier at age 18 years and 21 days.

It was also announced that he would drive JGR’s iconic No. 20 Toyota Camry entry in the 2009 Cup season in August. He would replace two-time Cup champion Tony Stewart, as he would drive for his self-owned team, Stewart-Haas Racing.

He drove the No. 96 Toyota Camry entry for Hall of Fame Racing for his Cup debut at New Hampshire. Logano started 40th and finished a season-best 32nd place. He made two additional Cup starts in the 2008 season, finishing 39th while driving for Hall of Fame Racing at Kansas Speedway in late September. Logano then finished 40th in a fourth JGR entry (No. 02 Toyota) at Texas Motor Speedway in November.

In 2009, Logano’s first full-time campaign in the Cup Series and as the driver of the No. 20 JGR Toyota entry commenced on a low note. After contact from Greg Biffle, Logano spun and slapped the inside wall towards the frontstretch. He hit head-on and finished in 43rd place, dead last. He finished no higher than 13th during his next seven starts before recording his first three top-10 results in three of his next four starts.

Within the four-race span, he led 19 laps during his first Southern 500 run at Darlington Raceway in May. He also made his first All-Star Race start at Charlotte Motor Speedway after he transferred from the All-Star Open by claiming the Fan Vote title, where he finished eighth.

Then, after finishing no higher than 15th during his next four starts, Logano utilized a strategic pit call to score his first Cup career victory in a rain-shortened event at New Hampshire in late June. The victory occurred after the Connecticut rookie rallied from spinning in Turn 4 on Lap 180 due to cutting a left-rear tire to assume the lead on Lap 264.

He would lead the next 10 laps and remain ahead of Jeff Gordon before the event was delayed and eventually declared official due to inclement weather. As a result, Logano became the youngest winner in the Cup Series history at age 19 years, one month and four days, a record that he still holds as of July 2024.

Despite missing the 2009 Playoffs, Logano would finish in the top 10 an additional three times throughout the final 19 events on the schedule. With a 20th-place result in the final standings, he wrapped up the Rookie-of-the-Year title over Scott Speed.

Compared to his rookie Cup season, Logano commenced his sophomore Cup campaign in 2010 by finishing the 52nd running of the Daytona 500 both on the lead lap and in 20th place. He accomplished this despite being involved in a late incident with Bill Elliott. He then recorded a total of three top-five results and 10 top-10 results throughout the remaining 25-race regular-season stretch.

Within the span, he finished a season-best second place at Martinsville Speedway. He also claimed his first Cup Series career pole at Bristol Motor Speedway, both of which occurred in March. Despite missing the Playoffs for a second consecutive season, he capped off the 2010 season on a strong note.

Logano earned six top 10s during the 10-race Playoff stretch and finished in 16th place in the final standings. He also improved his average finish from 20.5 to 16.2 and doubled his total top-five and top-10 results from his rookie season.

The 2011 Cup Series season was a difficult season for Logano. He only notched a total of four top-five results and six top-10 results throughout the 36-race schedule. During the season, he captured a pair of season-best results. He scored a third-place finish at the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte in May and at Daytona in July. Logano also claimed two poles at Sonoma Raceway and Pocono Raceway, and surpassed 100 career Cup Series starts. But, he fell back to 24th place in the final standings.

Logano rebounded in 2012. He doubled his total top-10 results from six to 12, improving his average finishing result from 19.1 to 17.4. Logano also tripled his total laps led from 58 to 190. During the season, Logano made a triumphant return to Victory Lane in the Cup Series.

He bumped and overtook Mark Martin with four laps remaining to claim his second career win. It was his first while also completing all scheduled distances in an event. He missed the Playoffs for a fourth consecutive season. But he improved on his final points result by seven spots, from 24th to 17th.

In September 2012, it was announced that Logano would join Team Penske and drive the No. 22 Ford Fusion entry in 2013. The 2003 Cup champion, Matt Kenseth, would replace the latter at JGR. He commenced his first full-time season with Penske by finishing 19th during the 55th running of the Daytona 500. Logano endured an eventful start through the first four scheduled events, finishing no higher than 12th on the track.

During his latest start at Bristol Motor Speedway in March, he engaged in a post-race confrontation with former teammate Denny Hamlin. This was due to an early run-in as Hamlin spun Logano towards the outside wall through the first two turns. Logano would then return the favor.

On the final lap, while battling Hamlin for the victory at Auto Club Speedway, he made contact with Hamlin. It resulted in Logano slapping the outside wall through the final two turns and Hamlin hitting the inside wall head-on. Despite finishing third, Logano engaged in a post-race scuffle with Tony Stewart. This was due to Stewart expressing his displeasure over being blocked by Logano on the final restart period with 11 laps remaining.

Amid the eventful start in 2013, Logano finished in the top 10 during his next 17 scheduled starts 10 times. At Michigan International Speedway in August, Logano led a race-high 51 of 200 laps from the pole position. He then capitalized on Mark Martin running out of fuel with four laps remaining.

He captured his third Cup career victory and first while driving for Team Penske. The Michigan victory enabled Logano to place himself in contention to make the Playoffs. Logano finished fifth, second and 22nd throughout the remaining three regular-season events to clinch his first berth in the Playoffs. It was his first appearance as a title contender by a slim margin.

His title hopes took an early hit due to an engine failure during the Playoff opener at Chicagoland Speedway. However, Logano capped off the final nine events on the schedule by finishing in the top nine five times. He settled in eighth place in the final standings. Overall, he had also earned an extra nine top-five results, seven additional top-10 results and tripled his laps led. He also boosted his average finishing result to three spots (14.1) compared to his final season at Joe Gibbs Racing.

The following three seasons (2014-16) were breakout years for Logano. The Connecticut native scored a total of 14 victories, including the 2015 Daytona 500. He also won back-to-back Bristol Night Races between 2014 and 2015, and back-to-back fall Talladega Superspeedway victories between 2015 and 2016. He swept the Round of 12 trio of events.

Logano also claimed the 2016 All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway following a late battle with Kyle Larson. In addition to the race victories, he accumulated 10 poles, 54 top-five results, 76 top-10 results and 3,127 laps led. He also recorded a career-best average finishing result of 9.2. Logano also led a career-high 1,431 laps and obtained a career-high 22 top-five finishes and 28 top-10 finishes in 2015.

Amid the competitive success during all three seasons, he fell short of winning his first title. This was due to a jack dropping out of his car during a late pit stop during the 2014 finale. He missed the Championship 4 round in 2015 after he was intentionally wrecked by Matt Kenseth during the Round of 8 opener at Martinsville Speedway.

The incident was payback for an incident two races earlier and for being involved in a late incident with title contender Carl Edwards during the 2016 finale. Within the three seasons, Logano’s highest points result was second in 2016.

In 2017, Logano endured a difficult season despite commencing the year by winning the non-points Clash at Daytona in February. Two months later, he recorded his first points-paying victory of the season at Richmond in his 300th Cup career start. Ultimately, the Richmond victory was ruled as encumbered and did not guarantee him a Playoff berth.

This was due to his race-winning car having a rear suspension issue during the post-race inspection process. Over his next 17 starts, he finished outside the top 20 10 times. This resulted in him missing the Playoffs for the first time since 2012. During the 10-race Playoff stretch, Logano finished in the top 10 in half of the stretch. He settled in 17th place in the final standings.

For a majority of the 2018 Cup season, Logano endured a consistent year. He achieved a single regular-season victory at Talladega in April to return to the Playoffs. He maintained the consistency to transfer from the Round of 16 to 8. Then, he bumped, rubbed and edged Martin Truex Jr. to win the Round of 8 opener at Martinsville. In doing so, he clinched a Championship 4 berth.

Three races later, Logano overtook Truex with 12 laps remaining. He continued to win the finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, achieving his first Cup Series championship. He became the 32nd competitor to win a title in NASCAR’s premier series. It was also the second Cup title for Team Penske.

Over his next three Cup campaigns (2019-21), Logano notched a total of six victories. They included back-to-back spring Las Vegas Motor Speedway events during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. He also won the inaugural Bristol Motor Speedway Dirt Course event in 2021. He made the Championship 4 round in 2020 and finished in third place in the final standings.

But he fell short during the 2019 and 2021 seasons. Logano ended up in fifth and eighth, respectively, in the standings. During the seasons, he recorded 34 top-five results, 61 top-10 results and 2,291 laps led. He also reached 400 Cup career starts after taking the green flag at the Daytona 500 in 2020.

During the 2022 season, Logano roared out of the gate, winning the inaugural Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. He then claimed regular-season victories at Darlington Raceway in May and the series’ inaugural event at World Wide Technology Raceway in June. He made the Playoffs for the ninth time in his career.

After transferring from the Round of 16 to 8 by points, he clinched a Championship 4 berth for the fifth time after winning the Round of 8’s opener at Las Vegas. Then, during the finale at Phoenix Raceway, Logano led a race-high 187 of 312 laps, including the final 30.

He won both the race and his second Cup Series championship, making him the 17th competitor to win multiple titles in NASCAR’s premier series. By then, he surpassed 500 Cup career starts.

Compared to the 2022 season, the 2023 Cup season featured Logano winning only once at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March. Despite clinching his 10th career Playoff berth, he was involved in a multi-car wreck midway through the Round of 16 finale at Bristol. The incident knocked him out of title contention and relegated him to 12th place in the final standings.

He rallied this past season. Logano won the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway in May, Nashville Superspeedway in June and the Playoff opener at Atlanta in September. This enabled him to transfer to the Round of 12. His title hopes initially evaporated following the Round of 12. But he was vaulted back into the Playoffs when Alex Bowman was disqualified from further contention.

He won the Round of 8 opener at Las Vegas amid a late pit strategy to make the Championship 4 round for the sixth time in his career (all of which have occurred in even years). Logano then fended off a late challenge from teammate and title contender Ryan Blaney to win the finale at Phoenix and claim his third Cup Series championship, which made him the 10th competitor overall to achieve at least three titles in NASCAR’s premier series.

Through 599 previous starts in the Cup Series, Logano has achieved three championships, 37 victories, 32 poles, 169 top-five results and 292 top-10 results. He has led 9,252 laps and has an average finishing result of 14.3. Logano achieved his first victory of the 2025 season at Texas Motor Speedway in May. To go along with a pole, he has two top-five results, five top-10 results, 358 laps led and an average finish of 17.2 through 20 scheduled starts.

Logano is currently ranked in 11th place in the 2025 driver standings. With 16 races remaining on this year’s schedule overall, Logano is in pursuit of becoming the fifth competitor to achieve at least four championships in NASCAR’s premier series.

He is scheduled to make his 600th Cup Series career start at Dover Motor Speedway for the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 and for the penultimate In-Season Tournament of this year. The event is slated to occur next Sunday, July 20, and air at 2 p.m. ET on TNT.
