NASCAR O'Reilly Series

After a shortened qualifying session due to rain, James Buescher and the No. 99 Toyota Care team lined up in the 18th position for Friday evening's Subway Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway. Just before the scheduled start time of the 100-lap race, another rainstorm rolled through the Daytona Beach area, delaying the start of the race. After nearly a two-hour delay, the 40-car field started the Subway Firecracker 250.

Darrell Wallace Jr. (seventh) was the first Toyota driver to the finish line in Friday evening’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at Daytona International Speedway. Kasey Kahne won the 103-lap rain-delayed race.

You know, we were trying to conserve all night but man it felt good to get our first top-five. The guys told me that Ricky really turned his rookie season around a couple years ago at Daytona by coming away with a top-five so I am hoping to do the same thing. We had a bit of a rough start but the guys never gave up on me and I never gave up on them. I am really proud of everyone and thank you to Lily Diabetes and Ford and American Diabetes Association.”

Throughout the race, Kasey Kahne could be found no where near the front of the field leading laps with his JR Motorsports teammates. However on the final restart with three laps to go, Kahne cut his way through the traffic after starting third and at the line, was only 0.021 seconds ahead of Regan Smith en route to grabbing the victory in the Subway Firecracker 250.

“Daytona is one of those tracks where you can score a good finish if you work the draft right and avoid the accidents,” Cassill said. “I’ve had some good runs there in the past, and Johnny and his guys always bring good cars to Daytona. We’re looking for a good showing this week.”

“It’s all about drafting at Daytona, and if you can get hooked up with the right group you can fly,” Earnhardt said. “I’m sure we’ll have a strong race car there. Hopefully, we can make some noise.”

The TriStar Motorsports Toyota Camrys are racing under the lights this weekend as the NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to Daytona International Speedway for the Subway Firecracker 250. TriStar Motorsports will field five entries for the 16th race of the 2014 season.

Joining Mike Bliss on the No. 19 TriStar Motorsports Camry this weekend at Daytona International Speedway will be UpStar USA Group, a genuine TV manufacturer.

“After our Talladega run I am excited going back to Daytona. Our Roush Performance Mustang was fast at both speedway races this year and I know we will be good at Daytona as well. I just need to be patient, stay out of trouble, and be there at the end with a chance to win.”
