Ford Performance NASCAR: Brad Keselowski Geared Up For Round of 12

Ford Performance Notes and Quotes
NASCAR Cup Series
NASCAR Media Zoom | Thursday, September 23, 2021

Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 2 Autotrader Ford Mustang, is one of four Ford drivers still alive in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, which continues this weekend with the first race in the Round of 12. Keselowski spoke about what lies ahead as part of a NASCAR Zoom call this afternoon.

BRAD KESELOWSKI, No. 2 Autotrader Ford Mustang — HOW ARE YOU SET FOR SPONSORSHIP NEXT SEASON AT ROUSH? “We’re having amazing conversations. The market is incredibly strong — in kind of the decision phase on some really great partners that are new to the sport, so I am thrilled with where we’re at. I don’t have anything to announce today, obviously. I think I would look for us to make one consolidated announcement with respect to our sponsors and our brand initiatives and team lineup all at one time after the season is over, so I’m really excited about it. I think conceptually there’s been a lot of energy around the sport on the partner side and we’re riding a wave of momentum. I’m sorry I can’t give any specifics, but as a general topic things are looking pretty good. I wouldn’t say we have everything done yet by any means today, but a lot of good movement.”

HOW WILL THE NEW PACKAGE IMPACT HOW THE CARS RACE AT TALLADEGA, IF AT ALL? “That’s a good question. I think there’s some thoughts that we’ll see some tandem racing. I’m not totally caught up on that yet. Overall, I thought the racing was pretty good at Daytona. It was a little bit less of a crashfest for most of the race than most people thought it would be, so that’s good. Ultimately, I don’t expect a big difference though.”

HOW IS YOUR CONFIDENCE LEVEL KNOWING VEGAS HAS BEEN A GOOD TRACK FOR YOU IN THE PAST? “Las Vegas has been incredible for us. We had a great run going there last fall and got shuffled on a restart and didn’t get that top 10, but, other than that, we’ve been a solid contender year in and year out. I think we finished second there in the spring and seem to be able to get it done there, so hoping for big things. Obviously, we need a strong performance for this round and the races in it. This is a tough round and I think we’ll have a great shot at doing just that.”

WHAT DO YOU TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ROGER AND TEAM PENSKE? “It’s been a hell of a ride. It’s made me a better race car driver and a better person, and I’m incredibly proud of that. I’m incredibly proud of the things we’ve done, the people we’ve met, the experiences that have come with it. Knowing and working with Roger Penske has, like I said, made me a better person in a lot of ways and a lot of the people around there are just tremendous people as well at Team Penske. I’m certainly gonna miss working with a lot of them and it’s bittersweet. Obviously, I’m very much looking forward to new opportunities that are in front of me, otherwise I wouldn’t have left, but, on the other side, just really proud of what we’ve done together and sad to see that piece come to an end.”

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO PEOPLE WHO THINK THE HIGH DOWNFORCE PACKAGE PUTS LESS EMPHASIS ON DRIVER SKILL AND MORE ON RANDOM LUCK? “I don’t know that random luck is the right word for it, but there’s less car control and the racing is a little more procedural based undoubtedly, so I guess there’s always transitions. These cars from 10 years ago were just freaking animals. Man, were they hard to drive. A number of drivers loved that. That said, you could still get a car that was faster and be a lesser driver and win the race. There’s no doubt about that, so I struggle to say that talent doesn’t still matter it’s just the racing continues to get more and more procedural based, like I said, and that still requires some talent.”

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS AND WHAT’S YOUR EVALUATION OF THE TEAM GOING INTO THIS NEXT ROUND? “I’m proud of the results we had at Bristol. It’s the best run we’ve had in roughly a month, which was sorely needed. If we can show that kind of speed, we have the opportunity to go deep in the playoffs and have a shot at the championship. I can’t answer whether that’s gonna be the case over the next few weeks. I don’t really control enough of those cards. Most of those are car based, but I can say that my pit crew is performing at a super high level, one of the strongest teams I’ve ever had on pit road. If we have the speed and the execution on the driver side to match the pit crew, we can go and win the championship. Right now, the speed has been our weakness to be quite frank, and that kind of stuff comes and goes and that’s why I hesitate to put expectations on anything because obviously as a driver I have some control of the speed quotient, but the reality is when you get to the Cup level most of the drivers are very close with respect to the ability of how fast they can make a car go on its own accord. Ultimately, we’ll see what we’ve got.”

HOW MUCH INTERACTION DO YOU HAVE WITH THE ROUSH GROUP ON A WEEKLY BASIS, ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU’RE STILL RACING FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP WITH PENSKE? “The interesting thing about our sport is we’re one of the few sports, somebody was telling me this the other day that cycling is this way, but we’re one of the few sports where you can be contracted with another team while competing with the team you’re with, which certainly is an interesting situation. You think of football, hockey, baseball, basketball, you’re either with one team or you’re not. Motorsports is certainly different in that way. Contractually, I have to honor my contract, which means non-competes and all of those kinds of things, so obviously I can’t be in the building and doing things for next year. I hear the rumblings of the test sessions and all that kind of stuff and certainly very curious as to how all that’s going, but my involvement is prohibited until the season is over.”

WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT THE CARS BEING DIFFERENT 10 YEARS AGO, WHAT DOES THIS GENERATION HAVE TO DO DIFFERENTLY THAN BACK THEN? “I remember going to Martinsville my first year or two in Cup and you’d come up off the corner and you would spin the rear tires, you’d have brand new tires and you would spin the rear tires for 100-feet on new tires, and at the end of the run, I mean, the whole straightaway you would spin the rear tires. You might not ever get flat foot and now the last race I ran at Martinsville I came up off the corner and just flat-footed it for thirty-some laps like I was driving a street car or something. That’s a big difference because your ability to really feel the feedback of the car and the rear tires and really modulate the gas pedal is really an important skill that you used to have to have, but now you don’t. That said, there are other skills you have to have now that you didn’t have to have back then. The choose lane and all those things and knowing where to be and knowing how to fill the gaps on restarts, that was not the case back then. I mean, shoot, the whole Texas thing — the debacle I had with, was it Jeff Gordon there? Today, that’s like every week. There’s a gap, you fill it. Every restart. Where back then it’s like, geez, you even tried to make a move like that and everybody lost their marbles. Things have changed for sure. You could argue for the better. You could argue for the worse, but they’re different and that’s life and that’s really every sport. There are parts of me that really miss going to a track like Texas and being 10 laps in and spinning the rear tires at 185 miles an hour. That was pretty darn cool. I’m not gonna lie, but there are other days I don’t miss. I don’t miss going to Michigan and hauling her off at 9 a.m. practice at 220 miles an hour thinking, ‘Man, I hope I don’t blow a tire. I’m gonna end up in the grandstands.’ So there are tradeoffs to everything.”

IS THERE A WAY TO HAVE ANY HOPE OF THE SPEED THING GETTING BETTER THIS WEEKEND, OR DO YOU JUST GO OUT THERE AND POSITION YOURSELF AND FIGURE IT OUT THAT WAY? “If we knew the knobs that well to be able to predict it, we would turn them every week, so I can’t say honestly. I really don’t know what I’m gonna have this weekend. If we went there and we ran top five all week and snuck out a race win, I wouldn’t be shocked. If we went to Vegas and ran 10th to 15th all week and finished in that range, I wouldn’t be shocked. I don’t know what to expect with respect to our performance.”

IS THAT UNSETTLING OR IS THAT JUST THE WORLD WE LIVE IN AND YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT? “I think it’s part of the world we live in, that there are a lot of variables we can’t control and you get in the car and figure out what you’ve got and then you do the most you can with it to try to put yourself in a great position. I’m incredibly proud of the round that we had. We didn’t win a race. We didn’t contend to win a race in that first round, but we went to Darlington with a 15th-place car and put together a solid top-10 finish. We went to Richmond with a 15th to 20th-place car unfortunately, and put together a solid finish, got some stage points out of it and ended up 13th. And we went to Bristol with probably the best car we’ve had, probably a top-five car and scored the third-most points and finished sixth. In a lot of ways, the media and the fans look at the race winner as the guy that ran the best race. To me, I always look at the field and say, ‘Who did the best with the car they had?’ And I feel like we’re out-finishing our speed right now by a good bit and that’s a combination of certainly the moves I’m making on the racetrack and the moves that we make on pit road and with respect to pit strategy and the pit crew themselves, so I’m really proud of that. We knocked a few guys out of the first round that, quite frankly, were considerably faster than us, so that bodes well for us. If we can put the speed with all the other pieces we have, we’re a very dangerous team.”

THERE’S A WAVE OF FORMER DRIVERS NOW BECOMING CAR OWNERS. WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS? “I think there’s a confluence of factors. The Next Gen car certainly had an effect — the visibility toward it, super important. I think there’s other quotients that lie in there too with respect to, like you said, generations and ways things have developed. Where are we at? Denny Hamlin, myself and who else? I guess Kyle has the truck team, but doesn’t have a Cup deal, but I would suspect there would be one or two others that join and do this over the next couple of years, which is great. The charter was a big piece of this, no doubt. It probably doesn’t get enough credit. I hear a lot of people bad mouth the charters. Honestly, there are parts I like and dislike about it, don’t get me wrong, but I think as a whole it’s been good for the sport. That said, I struggle to say there’s one factor. I’d say there’s a confluence of factors.”

Rounded by Concealment Express Unveiled with Spencer Boyd at Talladega

Mooresville, NC (September 23, 2021) – Concealment Express, known for their 100% made in the USA holsters, announced their new brand today, Rounded, with the unveiling of Spencer Boyd’s Talladega Truck. The company has expanded their product offering including an apparel line which can be found at RoundedGear.com.

Concealment Express employees have always prided themselves on making the best holsters in the industry, all designed and manufactured right here in the USA. With their new name and expanding pipeline of new products, Rounded will continue to focus on the speed in which they can deliver online orders, hence the desire to announce the new brand with 2019 Talladega Truck Series Race Winner, Spencer Boyd.

“I love the energy of this company,” remarked Boyd on working with the Rounded team. “They are an extremely hard-working group of very smart people that I am proud to represent. I’m honored they have chosen me and Young’s Motorsports to help launch this brand. Then to do it at Talladega is even more special. We’ll bring them a bullet of a truck to the track and we’ll get her unholstered coming to the checkered flag.”

The Rounded logo will also appear as an associate sponsor this weekend at the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Ben Jimenez of Rounded had a chance to sit down recently with Boyd at the Young’s Motorsports race shop, “Spencer is certainly knowledgeable about racing but I didn’t realize how much he knew about firearms. It sounds like range days are a good stress relief for him in addition to his hunting trips and what he does with Veterans. We focus a lot on performance in our industry so it was great to talk about those similarities as well. The entire interview will be released at a later date where I asked him if he would model a pair of our yoga pants, so you’ll have check to that out to find out the answer.”

Concealment Express first appeared at Kansas Speedway last year and has been on the No. 20 truck multiple times this year. The Rounded team and Spencer are also working on bringing a show truck to a Charlotte-area Academy Sports and Outdoors store in the coming months. In addition to their online store, Rounded products are sold at Academy stores nationwide as well as thousands of local sporting goods stores.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoff Race at Talladega is on Saturday, October 2. Tune in to FS1 at 1:00pm ET or listen to the Motor Racing Network or Sirius XM Radio Channel 90.

Haas retains Schumacher, Mazepin for 2022 F1 season

Uralkali Haas F1 Team confirmed that Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin will remain with the organization for the 2022 Formula One season.

Haas, which is in its sixth season in F1 competition and first under the Uralkali title sponsorship, is ranked in 10th place in the constructors’ standings through the first 14 Grand Prix races of 2021 as the team has yet to record its first points of this season. The team is also embarking in its first season featuring an entirely new driver lineup with Schumacher and Mazepin.

“We knew we wanted continuity behind the wheel in 2022 and I’m happy to confirm exactly that with Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin competing for Uralkali Haas F1 Team next year,” Guenther Steiner, Haas’ Team Principal, said. “[The year] 2021 has afforded both drivers the opportunity to learn Formula 1 – and as rookies – they’ve done a lot of that this year.”

Despite a difficult 2021 Formula One season, Haas has set its focus for the 2022 season that will feature new aerodynamic regulations as the team aims to regain its competitiveness.

“It’s been a tough season for sure with the package we’ve had, but at the same time [Schumacher and Mazepin] both embraced the challenge and worked closely with the team to learn our processes and adapt to the rigors of a Formula 1 campaign and all that brings – both internally and externally,” Steiner added. “Now as we look ahead to the 2022 season, we’re confident we can move forward as a team and give Mick and Nikita a competitive race package to make the next step in their Formula 1 careers.”

Schumacher, the 2020 Formula 2 champion and the son of seven-time F1 champion, Michael Schumacher, is currently ranked in 19th place in the drivers’ standings while embarking in his first full season in F1 competition. His best result in F1 to date is 12th place at the Hungarian Grand Prix in early August.

“By being part of the Formula 1 field, I am living my dream,” Schumacher said. “The first year together with Haas F1 is very exciting and instructive, and I’m sure I can bring all the experience I’ve gained into the coming year. New technical regulations, the impressive ambition of the entire Haas F1 team and the support of Ferrari – of course I believe this will bring us closer to the field in the 2022 season and we will be able to fight for points. I’m looking forward to being part of a team that is getting stronger, and I’ll do everything I can from my side to move us forward. Finally, I would like to thank the Ferrari Driver Academy for the trust they continue to give me and the support they have shown me over the years.”

Mazepin, who finished in fifth place in last year’s F2 standings with two victories and is the son of Dmitry Mazepin, chairman and core shareholder of the Uralchem Integrated Chemicals Company, including the title sponsor for Haas, is also competing in his first full season in F1 competition. His best result to date is 14th place at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in early June and he is ranked in 21st place in the drivers’ standings.

“I’m very excited for next year, the new car and simply just to get the opportunity with Haas F1 Team and grow together with them,” Mazepin said. “I think we will come out strong next year.”

Haas’ full driver lineup for 2022 comes a week after the Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team confirmed that Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll will serve as the team’s competitors for the upcoming season. That all but leaves one of the 20 F1 seats for 2022 that is yet to be filled, which is at Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen. Valtteri Bottas, who currently competes with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, is set to join the organization next season to replace the retiring Kimi Räikkönen while Alfa Romeo’s second competitor, Antonio Giovinazzi, has yet to announce his plans for 2022.

With the Haas F1 Team set for 2022, the team is also set to compete in the upcoming Grand Prix event at Sochi Autodrom in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, on September 26.

Riley Herbst Notes of Interest

• NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Riley Herbst is heading home to kick off the 2021 NASCAR Playoffs. After a third-place finish at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway last Friday night, the 22-year-old Las Vegas native secured his spot in the postseason for the second year in a row, making him two-for-two in his Xfinity Series career. The third-generation racer is now returning to the city where he got his start in the motorsports world with winning on his mind. The Herbst name is well known in the Las Vegas area. His grandfather Jerry, uncles Tim and Ed, and father Troy, are all Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame inductees as championship-winning off-road racers. Herbst intends to keep the motorsports legacy going in the NASCAR world. In addition to Saturday’s Xfinity Series race in Vegas, the hometown kid will throw out the ceremonial first pitch Thursday night for the Las Vegas Aviators – the Triple-A affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Oakland Athletics – prior to their game against the Oklahoma City Dodgers.
• Furthering the hometown connection is Herbst’s No. 98 South Point Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), with the Las Vegas-based hotel, casino and spa adorning Herbst’s car for the second time in 2021. Featuring more than 2,100 guestrooms, the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa overlooks the famous Las Vegas Strip and the serenity of the surrounding mountainscape. Each oversized guestroom features state-of-the-art LED televisions, as well as WiFi with high-speed internet connections. Guests visiting South Point Hotel will experience affordable luxury through a casino offering top-of-the-line gaming technology, more than 60 table games and a separate race and sports book area, 11 restaurants, world-class Costa Del Sur Spa and Salon, a 400-seat showroom featuring headliner entertainment, a 700-seat bingo room, a 16-screen Cinemark movie complex, a 64-lane bowling center, a 52,000-square-foot conference center, and an 80,000-square-foot exhibit hall. The venue is the “Official Hotel and Casino of Las Vegas Motor Speedway” and sponsor of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race, the South Point 400. Connect with South Point on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
• You have to play your cards right in NASCAR Playoffs, but the easiest way to advance is to win. Eight of the initial 12 playoff drivers will advance to the next round that starts Oct. 16 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Up to three of those spots can be earned by three different winners in the first round that begins at Las Vegas, continues at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and then wraps up at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Roval where the playoff field will be whittled down to eight drivers. And if there’s a different playoff winner in each of those races, five spots are available to be secured via points. Herbst was able to point his way into the postseason, but he can lock in his spot for the Round of 8 by coming out of the gate hot and winning at his home track.
• What do you need to do if you don’t hit the jackpot at Las Vegas? Collect as many points as possible. Herbst used this strategy in his race to make the NASCAR Playoffs. He entered the July 10 race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon on the outside looking into the top-12, 56 points below the playoff cutline. In the next eight races, Herbst erased that deficit to move all the way up to 11th in the standings by the time the checkered flag waved in the final regular-season race last Friday at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. While he enters Las Vegas seven points below the Round of 8 cutline, Herbst can use the same strategy to collect stage points and race his way into the next round by continuing his front-running ways.
• SHR knows how to win at Las Vegas. The No. 98 team swept both races at the 1.5-mile track in 2020 via Chase Briscoe. In February, he beat Austin Cindric by 2.874 seconds. Briscoe defended that victory with another win just seven months later, beating Noah Gragson by 1.370 seconds.
• The Alsco Uniforms 302 will mark Herbst’s fifth career Xfinity Series start at Las Vegas. The 22-year-old driver is on the hunt for redemption at his home track after an accident ruined a top-10 run for him just 56 laps into the series’ prior race at the track in March. In his first two Xfinity Series starts at Las Vegas in September 2019 and February 2020, Herbst scored back-to-back ninth-place finishes. He finished 12th in his third career start at Las Vegas last September.

Riley Herbst, Driver of the No. 98 South Point Ford Mustang

Welcome to the NASCAR playoffs. Talk about the journey to get to the Round of 12.

“Man, it feels good to finally say we’re in the playoffs after the start to the season we had. Our journey to the playoffs was an uphill battle, to say the least. We were still learning each other at the beginning of the season and it always seemed like bad luck would find us when we hit the track. These past several races, I think we’ve started to show the field that we’ve got the speed and we’re here to contend for wins. Look at Bristol – we were running top-10 there at the end and seized an opportunity on the final restart to finish third. We probably could’ve stolen the win with another lap.”

You’re coming off back-to-back top-five finishes for the first time this season and it comes at the right time with the playoffs starting this week at Las Vegas. Talk about the momentum your team now has coming into this first race of the Round of 12.

“We’re hitting our stride and it’s honestly a really good time for that. While we struggled somewhat during the season, we were still able to make the playoffs and I think we’ve finished in the top-10 in eight of the past 12 races. We’ve still got some work to do to get ourselves into the Round of 8, but I believe in this No. 98 team. We’ve got to take it week by week.”

You’re heading home to Las Vegas. What would a win at your home track mean to you, especially now that you’re in the playoffs?

“Man, I’m so excited to go home this weekend and race for a championship. It’s gonna be so much fun. I’ve been looking forward to going home for a long time. You always want to win at home, but to win at home in the playoffs and secure a spot in the Round of 8, it would just be a testament to the hard work the whole team has put in this season. Honestly, with the momentum we’ve had these past few races, I think we can win. We’re very capable of winning and we’re ready to do it.”

WIGHT MOTORSPORTS SUPERSIZES FOR DELAWARE

(September 22, 2021) As Fall arrives, Wight Motorsports Inc (WMI) is not slowing down at all. They’ll be going full speed for the final three races of the 2021 NASCAR Pinty’s Series scheduled for this weekend at Delaware Speedway near London, Ontario. Here’s how it looks by the numbers, three races, four cars, five drivers.

In addition to the usual fleet of cars with Donald Theetge, Mark Dilley and TJ Rinomato participating in each of the three events, the #19 car returns to action with Brandon Watson at the wheel on Friday to kick off the weekend.

Watson had an impressive showing in his first start at Flamboro Speedway collecting a sixth-place finish. Theetge also recorded a top ten finish at Flamboro, his first race of the season.

Quotes-David Wight, WMI Principal

“First off, huge credit to the WMI team for working so hard to pull this together. With the second Flamboro race postponed, that meant Brandon would race Friday in the make-up event. He did a super job at Flamboro. And then we’ll have Glenn in the #19 car Sunday which we’d planned for some time, so it’s been a lot of hard work to make this happen”.

“I’m excited to see how Donald will perform this weekend, he’s shown a lot of speed and that he’s capable of winning. Mark (Dilley) started on pole at Delaware before and has had a lot of success. TJ has also shown some real progress this season. I’m excited about our chances”

The races will be streamed live on TSN.ca and the TSN app in Canada and through Trackpass on NBC Sports Gold in the US. The Canadian Tire 125 begins at 9PM Friday September24th. The Qwick Wick 125 will start Sunday at 3:55PM and the Pinty’s Fall Brawl will begin at approximately 5:20 PM ET.

BRODY ROA SHOOTS FOR THIRD PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY SIGNATURE EVENT WIN OF 2021

Brody Roa and crew after August win at Perris Auto Speedway.  Doug Allen Photo.

(Cypress, CA, September 22, 2021) This Saturday night, Brody Roa will be seeking his third Perris Auto Speedway signature main event win of the season in the “13th Annual Glenn Howard Memorial.”  Already this year, the veteran driver has won the annual “Salute To Indy” and the “California Racer’s Hall of Fame Night” events on the famous Riverside County half mile clay oval.

If Roa, 30, does emerge triumphant on Saturday, it would not only be his third USAC/CRA and Perris Auto Speedway win of the year, but it would be his fifth total victory in 20 starts.  In addition to the aforementioned wins at Perris, he scored a win in the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare and in an open 360 race on The Dirt Track at the Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield.

Saturday’s big event at Perris will be Roa’s first time in competition since contesting three races in Northern California over Labor Day weekend.  In the 72-hours of racing in the upper half of the “Golden State,” he had sixth and third place finishes at the two night “Louie Vermeil Classic” at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico.  He rounded out that quick sojourn to the north with another third-place finish at the Petaluma Speedway.

Going into the three races in NorCal, “The Pride of Garden Grove” had closed to within 24-points of the point lead.  However, the two third place finishes, and the sixth saw him lose some ground in the USAC/CRA Championship point standings.  Heading into this Saturday’s race, he is 44-points behind the leader.  Hopefully he can turn that tide back the other way beginning on Saturday.  Starting in May, he has two wins, a second and a third at Perris.  That makes his average finishing position at the track 1.75 in those four outings.  That is by far the best at the track in that time period.

While racing is a very significant part of Roa’s life, there are more important things.  For example, last week the veteran driver and his wife Tailor celebrated the first birthday of their daughter Addison Leanne with family and friends.  They then snuck in a trip to Disneyland before heading back to the track this Saturday.

Fans can meet Roa and take photos with him during Saturdays on track autograph and candy giveaway session at intermission.  They can also meet him in the pits after the race.  He will have his good-looking shirts available in both places.

Fans who would like to purchase Brody Roa merchandise, but who cannot attend a race, can check out the online store that is packed with great items including t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, beanies, baby onesies, plush blankets, jigsaw puzzles, stickers, notebooks, tote bags, wine tumblers, mugs, bandana pet collars and more.  To see the full line, please visit the following website https://www.brodyroa.com/shop/

Spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and the first race will take the green flag at 7:00.  There will be plenty of tickets for everyone at the ticket window.  For fans who prefer to order advance tickets online, they can do so at the following link www.tix.com.  Fans who cannot make it to the track can see all the action live with a subscription to Flo Racing.  For details, please use the following link https://www.floracing.com/.

Perris Auto Speedway is located on the freeway close Lake Perris Fairgrounds at 18700 Lake Perris Drive in Perris (92571).  The office phone number is (951) 940-0134 and the track website is www.perrisautospeedway.com.

Roa and the team would like to thank the following for being part of the 91R’s 2021 campaign.  HD Industries, Burris Racing, Sander Engineering, Biker Bruce Fisher, Inland Rigging, ALR Virtual Services, Caltrol, Competition Suspension, K-1 Race Gear, Molecule, Rod End Supply, Baldwin Filters and Jambo BBQ Pits.  In addition, the veteran driver offers thanks to Fastenal, Coopers Propane, Total Lubricants, Marina Pools, TJM Oilfield Distribution, Certex, and Biker Bruce for sponsoring the #8M.

If you or your company would like to jump on board and receive recognition throughout the year, please give the two-time USAC champion racer a phone call or drop him a note at the contact information at the top of this release.  You can also contact him if you would like to put him in your car in a USAC National Series race when his west coast schedule permits.

How to Buy Car Accessories

Photo by Kevin Bhagat on Unsplash

Must say Buying equipment to customize a car is because we want to be different from other cars both increasing speed and appearance. The thing to keep in mind is the legal issue, whether it’s the color to be registered or the sound from the exhaust pipe. It is expensive according to the quality, brand, material used. Some parts may be But some items can be expensive.

Today we will introduce the purchase of car accessories to be used to decorate your car

Alloy wheels

It’s the first thing that’s popular. But when buying, be careful of second-hand Max. Especially those Max fixed the color. Be careful, the wheels may distort, should check carefully before buying because the price is not cheap and for your own safety as well

body kit

Also known as a set of spoilers to add beauty to the car. But should choose that it is customized to match the car If you choose badly, it will make your car look ugly instead. And have to look at the material of the parts that affect the smoothness of the parts. Mainly, the set comes from 3 major sources, namely the factory set. Dress from the Bureau of Standards and handcrafted dresses from general dress shops.

Factory set with a dress from a standard dresser may be more expensive than the dress in the store because of materials such as ABS plastic or injection molded fiber. It will be smooth and closely attached to the car body as well The color will have the same shine like the surface of the car as for spoilers at the custom-designed shop. It is often designed by itself or copied as fiber work by hand. Maybe some pieces are not smooth and the color may be distorted, not as shiny as it might be

Therefore, you have to consider it yourself and will pay higher to get items that have the same section as your car mats.

Body WRAP

Wrap with stickers It gives short-term beauty and is expensive once the sticker is peeled off. There may be cutter marks, scrapes, or paint scrapes. Including it may cause the color to be wrong from the registered and may be illegal as well. If you want to change the color, add a little more money. Going to the garage to paint would be better. Plus, the color is shiny and lasts longer as well as Intake Making a loud exhaust pipe must also be seen. Do not do more than what the law requires. So as not to disturb others Just change the exhaust pipe to add beauty should be better than the seat

Some people may not like the original upholstery. That has come and changed to a racing cushion. The selection must be made of copycats and cat dyes strewn about should choose well Should choose one that is comfortable and comfortable. It’s not just about being cool or beautiful.

TURBO

gasoline engine If the car didn’t have a turbo in the first place Or supercharged from the factory, do not go to decorate it. Because the price is not worth the car with 10-20 horsepower, except for an overhaul.

The important part, do not worry about the beauty of the dress alone. Should take into account the safety and then to be legal as well. Don’t be impatient. Impatient may get bad things, waste money without reason

What to do if your vehicle has a power steering leak

The power steering on your vehicle will affect all aspects of handling from making a turn or just driving straight down the road.  Without the proper fluid, your power steering will fail and the vehicle will become very hard to steer and it can become a serious situation very quickly.

If your vehicle becomes hard to turn or you start hearing weird noises such as a moan or whine while turning, it might be low on fluid, but it could also be the first sign of a power steering fluid leak.  Quick action on your part is required for your safety and others on the road.  You can find more about routine maintenance and car fix guides at carfixbook.com.

The leak could be an inexpensive solution such as just adding power steering fluid or something a little more expensive such as the replacement of the power steering pump.  It is also important to note that using the right type of fluid is also very important if you need to add fluid into the power steering fluid reservoir.  Some power steering systems use synthetic automatic transmission fluids (ATF), others use silicone-based fluids.  So, it is important to check the manufacturer’s manual to see what fluid is recommended for the vehicle.

The power steering fluid flows from the reservoir where you fill it, through the hoses, into the steering pump, steering gear, and for some vehicles the steering coolers.  The most common place to find a leak is in the steering gear or rack because those areas are most likely to get damaged or road grime that wears out the shafts and seals.  The reservoir itself also could be loose or broken, but a leak could develop from any of those areas.

When there are no leaks and there are proper fluid levels, the power steering will be pressured by the power steering pump, that is driven by a belt which in turn helps to turn the wheels.  But without fluid, there will not be adequate pressure and it will lead to difficulty in steering.

As the vehicle ages, the O-rings, hoses, and worn-out seals lose their form that eventually fail and the fluid begins to leak.  A leak can also be detected by the power steering fluid color.  The color of the power steering fluid is normally pink, red, or clear.  If the fluid is brown or black in color, it’s been contaminated and could cause serious damage.

This not only applies to the power steering fluids.  There are other leaks that can develop because of age such as the seals, hoses, and gaskets on the radiator, and can cause coolant leaks and overheating.  A power steering leak might not be as serious as a brake or oil leak, but it still needs attention right away.

How can a power steering leak be fixed?

The leak can be fixed in some cases by the vehicle owner or in a lot of cases, you need to find a reputable professional mechanic to investigate the problem and make the necessary repairs.  It could be an expensive repair depending on how long the leak has been going on, the damages caused by low fluid levels, and the parts such as the power steering pump, rack, cooler, or gear can vary in price and installation costs.  The price for repairs will also depend on the year and make and model of the vehicle.

If the fluid is leaking from a power steering line, that should be an easy fix and not as expensive as something like a steering rack or the replacement of a pump seal or pump.

You can also use products such as No Leak, which is an additive that is compatible with all power steering fluids and has been effective to seal leaks and prevent future ones with minimal cost.  But this might not be a long-term solution and you might have to consult with a mechanic for a permanent fix.
