Ahead of the 2020 NASCAR Championship Weekend Nov. 6-8, the City of Avondale and Phoenix Raceway together announced that it has renamed a portion of Indian Springs Road after seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson.

In 125 starts at Phoenix Raceway, Richard Childress Racing has scored six victories with drivers Ryan Newman (2017), Kevin Harvick (2013, 2012, Mar. 2006, Nov. 2006) and Dale Earnhardt (1990).

On Sunday afternoon at Phoenix Raceway, the NASCAR Cup Series season, dramatically altered by a once-in-a-century pandemic, will come to an end with the running of the Season Finale 500.

Phoenix hosts NASCAR’s season finale this weekend for the first time in its history, as the NASCAR Cup Series will battle for 312 laps Sunday afternoon. Jack Roush has 17 wins all-time at the 1-mile track, including seven in the NCS.

Hendrick Motorsports has won two of the last three NASCAR Cup Series races held on Nov. 8, the date of Sunday’s championship-deciding event at Phoenix. Jeff Gordon went to victory lane in the 1998 season finale at Atlanta, and Jimmie Johnson won at Texas in 2015.

Go Fas Racing will make its final start as a full-time team at NASCAR's premier level with its No. 32 entry.

Hamlin will compete in his third Championship 4 as he works toward his first NASCAR Cup Series title on Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway.

It all comes down to this weekend as the championship races for the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series West take place at Phoenix Raceway.
