In Friday night's Nationwide Series race, Ryan Seig made the most of the restrictor plates being the "the great equalizer" as he pushed Kasey Kahne to victory, scoring a third place finish. It marks Sieg's best career finish and his second top-10 at Daytona International Speedway.

Chris Buescher hit the track at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) for his first NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at the two-and-a-half mile track. The Roush Fenway Racing driver had a fast No.60 Roush Performance Parts Mustang and was able to hold his ground within the lead pack, running inside the top ten for much of the evening.

Kyle Larson and the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) put on an exciting Fourth of July show in their return to Daytona International Speedway on Friday night during the Subway Firecracker 250, and although Larson barely missed claiming the victory in the No. 42 Target Ticket Chevrolet, he and his Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) team scored their eighth top-five finish of the 2014 season.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No.6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang passed 10 cars on the final lap of Friday evening’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) event at Daytona International Speedway to earn a ninth-place finish, his third-consecutive top-10 finish at the 2.5-mile oval.

Fresh off his 11th-place finish last weekend in Kentucky, Dylan Kwasniewski wanted to build momentum and come home with another solid finish in Daytona. Kwasniewski and his Rockstar Energy Drink team were in position to do just that, until suffering damage when another competitor spun out coming through the tri-oval on lap 93.

Brendan Gaughan qualified 14th and was the top Richard Childress Racing starter for the Subway Firecracker 250 powered by Coca-Cola. Brian Scott qualified 15th and Ty Dillon 16th.
